There was a strange little sound of approval, and with it a flash of light, just before the door completely closed and sealed them in darkness. Jackson found himself standing in an open field of all places, face to face with the man who executed the Golem the day before. "And so you have committed, or tried to. It's the action that counts in this case."

Jackson's face remained straight. He wasn't intimidated, but was upset that he felt powerless and ignorant in the current situation. "What did you want me to be here for? What do you wish to speak to me for?"

Uggh, i know i cant stop this movement from ever happening, these people want change, can't really blame them if they retaliate for the way they're treated. I guess I have to do my part, that is: to minimize the casualties from this upcoming uprising... i'm not siding with any factions, but i won't stand and watch as people are getting killed in this turn of events.

"I'll join your little crusade." Desmond voice rang true through the crowd as he addresses the unnamed girl from yesterday. Desmond takes a sip from his cup, as he said nothing further, hiding his real motive.

"I am here to issue a trial, If you are willing. If you wish not, feel free to say, and I shall leave you at your own home, or whatever destination you may desire. Should you accept, My compatriot in another location shall send you into a dream." The man responded. The only insight into what the man may have been thinking was hidden by his mask, his body completely till, saying nothing to all but the most observant.

Murdoc

Dorians smile only widened. "Well then, perhaps I am the perfect test for you, eh?" Dorian walked over to the door, asking something of a guard outside. The guard stepped inside, only for Dorian to plough his fist directly into the mans face. Dorians smile never wavered, nor did he offer any sort of apology to the man. "Now lad, how about testing yourself?"He said, gesturing to the bewildered, hurt uard lying on the floor now.

Steelsword

((Everyone feel free to pitch in. This is a crowd, but people can still make themselves heard...))

"And your help is happily accepted! Let every man and woman who wishes to help in our efforts, let us work together to succeed against the fiends who oppress us!" Abgail yelled, further egging on the crowd.

Richard nodded as he started to return to his desk, lost in his thoughts about whether what he did yesterday was the right thing. However, his introspection was cut short when he spotted a familiar visage. Is that... It is the young man I saw at The School. They are not wearing that mask this time though. Richard started to stare to the point where the very air started to become awkward. Realizing this, Richard turned away so he could take a deep breath and collect his thoughts. This young man is a potential recruit joining the saviors of Trevalus. If I have any hope of helping Trevalus, I need people who trust in my judgment. I cannot falter. Richard turned back around and strode up to Emelia, doing his best to appear as official as possible.

"You must be a potential recruit for the Living Quarter Trevalus Police Department. I for one am elated to see someone who is willing to commit themselves towards the most noble cause there is within such a short amount of time," Spoke Richard in his same imperious voice, though with some attempts at sounding amiable falling short. "You see, I noticed you were at The School yesterday. Lieutenant Timms seemed to be impressed with your resolve, which is already a good sign, is it not? I hope that we can work together for the betterment of Trevalus."

Richard extended a hand forth, adjusting so he could meet where the hand of the much smaller person would be. While doing so, Richard also attempted to appear friendly with a half-smile, which when matched with his intense, vicious eyes only managed to look alien. Yes, this young man seems promising indeed... Though up close they look oddly... No. These thoughts have no place here...

Emelia looked at the man trying her best to hide any expression. This man talks weird. Maybe he spends a little too much time in those old books. No matter, I don't want to make a scene now of all times. "The pleasure is all mine. Hopefully this swordplay of mine will come in use for the greater good as it would be an honor working along with someone like you officer Du...Dudley was it?" Whew that was close. "Sorry, but I don't believe I know your name. I'm Elliot."

Emelia noticed the man looking at him strangely. She figured he may have realized she was a female, but she wasn't going to say anything and kept her male sounding voice. "Why are you looking at me weird? Is there something on my face?"

(Sorry sorry! I'm hugely busy lately with Christmas and stuff. wrapping presents is fun tho!)

Cara's eyes glanced up, taking in the sights of the sorry establishment.

"I am Alexa Herra. I have no business with you. Leave me be." She chided, edging slightly closer to the pair beside her. "Forgive me if you already know this, but I am not going to take any chances here. Do not give those people your name." She muttered under her breath, turning round on her heel and walking over to an empty corner, leaning against the wall and fixing her hood.

"Probably the best advice I've heard about this stupid mess..." Elemus muttered after the Woman from outside walked away. Lucille ignored his griping though, the Mouse she had called yesterday again taking a position hidden in the folds of her cloak, gazing out at the men discretely through eyes looking more like murky pools of gray than the pure voids of black they should've been. She could honestly see why this stranger was a bit cautious about giving these guards any names. Now what did the Swords representative tell her yesterday? ah yes, that's right...

"Who I am doesn't matter," She said simply. "But what does is that I was sent here by Elizabeth, Kalisto's Daughter."

Richard registered Emelia's words and took them in for a moment. They... Feel honored to work with a dog like me? Perhaps it is because they do not know of my curse. And am I staring at them 'funny'? Blast! Richard barely concealed a somewhat embarrassed grimace before returning to his usual demeanor with forced amiability.

"I am unsure of where you found my name to be Dudley, perhaps it is my careless mistake... However, I am Patrol Officer Richard Gallus! You, Elliot, may refer to me however you see fit, as I am..." Richard began his continued introduction before catching himself starting to let his fervor get ahead of himself yet again. "I am sure that this will allow us to work together as a unit more efficiently."

Richard's features actually started to soften a bit at this exchange. Is this how it feels to just... Get to know someone like this? It is so informal yet it has a quality of it's own. Elliot still seems uneasy though. Surely it is because they can feel the wickedness emanating from my body. Yes, it must be that my arrogance as a Gifted which has caused my recent misfortunes is still visible!

Richard started to get lost in thought as he looked to his right hand, scowling as he started to grip and release.

This is a load of bull. thought Travis to himself. Well you know what they say, the perfect answer to violence is more violence. Instead of, y'know, actually working out problems.

Travis observed the crowd of now Rebels, all getting their drawers in a tangled bunch. He knew all too well about the injustices that were being committed on the Gifted, but frankly he didn't quite care. This violent nonsense would do a lot more harm than good, and he knew it. There were gonna be casualties on BOTH sides, and lots of them.

He noticed the young man in the crowd try to reason with the woman in front, only to be shot down by the others around him. He would have to keep an eye on him, just in case things got messy. Wouldn't want friendly fire to happen on the first day, now would he?

((Sorry for not posting in a while, I'll start posting on here more often now))

Solace's eyes widened in shock as the guard went down in a heap. He immediately ran over to the fallen man and focused, drawing the pain of the blow first into himself and then transferring it to the person who had inflicted it. Solace looked back and forth between the guard and Dorian in confusion, wondering why this was happening and worrying about what would happen next.

He's so weird. Does he even know how to talk normally? I think I understand why that guy beat the crap out of him now. "So...I'm just going to go now. I don't want those officers to be waiting on me." Emelia used this as a great opportunity to get away. She looked left and right hoping someone could pull her away to make this situation a little less akward.

Desmond snap his fingers multiple times to the man next to him(Travis) as he tries to get the man's attention, the man seems to be spaceout. "You've been eyeing that man for quite sometime now, you seem to be stress out, here have a flower." Desmond produce a flower under his sleeve. "I'm Desmond by the way" Desmond friendly introduce himself.

Richard stopped losing himself once more as he heard Emelia speak again. I am holding him up from his purpose! Who am I to stay the progress of a real servant of justice?

"O-of course! I did not mean to prevent you from your prerogative. Please pay me no mind, as I am sure it would only halt your progress further," Apologized Richard as he stood off to the side to let Emelia pass. "I truly do look forward to working with you, Future Officer Elliot..."

Curse my manners! I have not only disturbed Elliot, but I have also neglected to learn their last name! How utterly careless of me. Richard was lost in thought again before he found himself staring at Emelia once more. I cannot quite put my finger on it, but there is something about Elliot... A certain boyish quality to the young man... How old are they?

"We must fight to be heard, not live in fear of those heartless bastards!"

"I hate how you can speak of death so lightly." Ryen said with disgust, "Do you know what it means for someone to be killed? They're gone, forever and nothing will bring them back. Now you want to place that sorrow on everyone in this town? Whether it be your family or friends to just a guy who says 'Hi' to you on the street." Reyn let out a be sigh, "I'm not saying you shouldn't protest but killing is definitely not the way to do it. If the people are scared of us, make them not. Show them we can use our powers to help them and not harm. If we continue down this path you people are choosing it'll only bring more fear into the hearts of the non-gifted and thus making gap between gifted and not in this city even greater."

Kyrie returned Nigel's grin as she entered the room, having pushed aside her curiosity at what had put the cloning guy off to make him break the monotone. It wasn't the time to think about that, because Kyrie had more important things to think about for this interview. Having fully mulled over the thought of joining the Shields the previous night, she came to the conclusion that this is what she had wanted, definitely. And she was planning on not being turned down now that she was fully committed.

"Hey there, good morning to you too, sir- or Nigel, whichever you prefer," she said with a nod.

Thomas tried his best to focus on his hearing, when, at last, he heard the voice of someone who spoke reasonably. He did not know who the voice belonged to, but would try to follow it. He tried to get through the crowd that was now hectic and loud, but could not do so and ended up falling over, hitting his head on a table. His vision turned cloudy and could barely keep his consciousness up, but did his best to nonetheless.

Travis turned his attention to the Desmond and accepted his flower.

"Thank you, but I'm not stressed at all. Just making sure things don't get out of hand, y'know?" he said as his face was still situated in his mask of a smile. Their conversation was cut off short by a pedestrian falling in the middle of the crowd. "Excuse me for a second."

Travis bounded to where the other man had fallen and put him in his arms. "Hey, you alright? Had too much to drink already?" No response. "Hm... troubling. Let's see if we can fix you up." Suddenly, two faint, cyan lights appeared from his hands. He was using his Gift, he had the power to change the weight of any living being to what he wanted. He decided to use it to make his friend there a bit easier to carry as he walked back over to Desmond.

"Hello again. Seems someone had a little accident. Since you're hear I assume you're Gifted as well? Would your Gift involve healing of any kind?"

Murdoc

After a couple of moments Dorians smile wavered slightly. A few more moments, and the man was actually wincing. "Well shit, it's been a long time since I've actually felt a good smack to the face. I'll take that as confirmation of your Gift, and a bloody strong one too, to bypass my own. Now, next I need you to tell me why you want to join. And please, if you can, spare me the simple "I want to help people" approach. Think about it, and find a reason that fits you, lad."

Snap

"By all means, call me Nigel. Now, I'll need you" He poked a finger in Kyries direction "To demonstrate your Gift. Wow me!" He said, leaning back and expecting a show. However before Kyrie could react, a flash of blinding light appeared in the room, taking Nigel along with it.

((I wanna see what you'd do here, think outside the box))

Tacos

"Very well, one moment please" And in that moment, he disappeared, leaving only a light to burn Jacksons retinas, before returning with a rather disgruntled young man. "Nigel, time to uphold your end of the bargain" the figure in white said. After regaining his wits, the young man sighed. "Right, but send me back ASAP, I don't want to keep a lovely lady waiting." He looked around at their surroundings as he walked up to Jackson "An open field, I see your tastes haven't changed..." He muttered. "Okay, are you ready to go under? Once you've fulfilled his requirements, you'll be automatically released, no need for me to be present."

Stratos and Annie

The men jeered when they heard Elizabeths name. "Ha! Ya think that whores name has any..." He struggled to find the word "Weight 'ere? Bugger off!" Then a few of the men whispered amongst themselves, looking specifically at Lucille and Cara. "Tell ya what mate " He spoke directly to Elemus "how about you leave these ladies here, and we'll take you to where you want to go, and we'll also let you keep yer dignity too. Sound good?" The spokesman asked, a gap-toothed grin on his face.

Commander and Gotwala

As the two spoke, people scurried around before Montgomeries booming voice filled the station. "All right lads, we've had reports of rabble-rousers down in the School district, a place called the Steelsword Pub. We're heading down there to stop it, expect a lot of pissed off Gifted." He looked directly at Richard. "Time to earn your place, do well and you might make up for your blunders." Then Montgomery saw Emelia. "You here to interview? Bugger.... Tell you what, come along, see if you can help out. If you can, I might be more inclined to let you on." He then turned to address the rest of the readying station. "Get your arses in gear, we need to get gone now!"

Steelsword Pub.

Abigail was well and truly pissed off now, so much so that her control wavered, and she released a puff of the gas she was manipulating before, much stronger than before that sent those nearest into a frenzy of anger. A dozen men and women turned around and started savagely beating the people behind them, one man thoroughly mauling another before anything could be done. Chaos erupted in the building, people trampling others to get away from the erupting fights.

((That's why I didn't want Charizard on the floor))

Jackson cringed as the blinding light flashed in the room. He closed his eyes and recoiled, shading his face with his outstretched hands. As the light seemed to fade, so did the few beams getting through Jackson's eyelids. He opened his eyes to see a rather sassy man talking to him. "I-I-I guess I'm ready. Don't hold back."

"I don't think so," Elemus said, looking right at the man who'd offered. "I don't speak for that woman in the corner, but I'm supposed to be getting paid for escorting this one here to this location and then back home safely afterwards. I only get my payment if she comes back in one piece, unharmed, and unsullied..." he glared at the man witheringly, ever aware of the twin Steelwood daggers tucked in the back of his belt. Hopefully this wouldn't get ugly though... always such a pain to have to waste energy on something pointless. "So do you see the obvious issue I have with your proposition? I haven't gotten my compensation because my job isn't quite done yet; Ergo, the girl doesn't leave my sight. I'm not about to go trusting some stranger with my next meal ticket. Understand?"

Richard immediately snapped a salute to Montgomery and stated, "Affirmative, Chief Montgomery! I will not fail Trevalus!"

After releasing his salute, Richard immediately started to don his armor with practiced speed and efficiency, despite his lame right arm. Upon strapping on all of his regulation equipment, Richard immediately turned to Emelia as he offered another set of regulation equipment.

"Here, Future Officer Elliot. Unless you prefer your own armaments, I have produced our standard equipment for your use," Spoke Richard as held the equipment in his good arm. "And while I am confident in your ability, I recommend that you stay by my side during this inevitable altercation. I have experience when it comes to dealing with... Gifted, and I believe it would be prudent of you to observe and learn from a seasoned officer in the field. Is this agreeable for you, Elliot?"
