Kaze
I have this strange bump on my point knuckle and i am freaking out about it. Not sure if i should go to the doctor just yet since i just saw it today. It is kind of squishy and it makes the knuckle look lopsided. A co-worker said it could be a callus but his look different than this. My uncle said it could be a calcium deposit. I looked on line and it also be a ganglion cyst and the list just gets worse and now i am freaking out more......help. Oh and there is no pain except for when hard pressure is applied....like today when i was cutting chicken at work and it hit against the cutting board. Deleted User
It's not just warts?
Aurorix
Maybe a wart, or an infection. Either way I suggest going to the doctor ASAP to know exactly what it is so it won't pester you all day.
Kaze
I did bump it hard while cutting chicken too so.....maybe just a squishy bruise? I know it is not a wart due to having that before and it looks nothing like it.
Cowtao
Something like that can occur when it's damaged. It clots up to prevent bleeding so don't mess with it for awhile. If it starts to hurt for strange reasons contact a doctor.
Snap Crackle Pop
Yeah, just give it a few days to see how it develops. It's probably nothing. I suggest circling it with a sharpie to see if it changes in size over time. Maybe take a pic before going to sleep on day one (but still do the circle thing). Hutch333
Also, never search for your symptoms online. You'll get worst case scenario every time.
Dark Desire
probably just a small cyst or calcium deposit, things like that are fairly common in young men, i'd still keep an eye on it though
Tomas Elliot
Dude, a forum of Poke-fans is not going to help, and looking it up on the internet will only make you freak out more... Go see a doctor! Like, NOW!
Tacos
Dude, a forum of Poke-fans is not going to help, and looking it up on the internet will only make you freak out more... Go see a doctor! Like, NOW! We're not necessarily all poke-fans, and who's to say we're not poke-fans who have experienced a situation identical to this? Some people would probably prefer not to spend their money on an appointment to the doctors when their issue is simply resolved with time. Some people would probably prefer not to spend their money on an appointment to the doctors when their issue is simply resolved with time. I always forget there are people from USA here, so no medical assistence for free... Well, I take my previous line back. But I still think that the internet rarely helps in these situations. EDIT: do you spell it "assistance" or "assistence"? I know I am ignorant, I just this would be as good an occasion as any other to finally clarify this. Administrators Amethyst Posted November 22, 2014 Administrators Share Posted November 22, 2014 I have something that sounds much like what you seem to be describing on my wrist too and it freaked me out for a while. Physician confirmed that, at least in my case, it was a ganglion cyst as you mentioned, which is not generally harmful. She also confirmed that they can appear, get bigger or smaller, or even go away randomly over periods of weeks, months, or years, so treatment isn't really worth it since even if drained it can just come back. If it's really bothering you I was told one can just smash it with a large book to pop it-- hurts a lot, but it's actually probably more effective than draining it since it actually breaks the cyst. I accidentally popped mine when I flipped over on my bike (lol), but it came back a couple years later. Ultimately, I would suggest not worrying about it but if it does continue to be a concern, particularly if it begins to hurt, then see a doctor.
