Primal Reversion

Recommended Posts

For those who have played ORAS, the mascots are able to undergo a transformation known as Primal Reversion. The ability allows Groudon and Kyogre to tap into powers that were once lost. With this idea in mind, it would be assumed that all Prehistoric Pokemon have power lost to them due to fossilization. If it is true, then perhaps one day all Prehistoric Pokemon will be able to restore their true strength with Primal Reversion.

Which Pokemon would you like to see have Primal Reversion?

I think Kabutops, Tyrantrum, and Genesect are due to have their strength returned. Perhaps it would remove their rock-type for something else.

Genesect makes zero sense. It was created by team Plasma. As for Kabutops and Tyrantrum, we can already see from Mega Aerodactyl that fossil pokemon will receive mega's if anything.

Giratina wouldn't make sense. Dialga and Palkia most likely will once they remake Gen 4 in however many years down the line.

ERR Correction.

Genesect was REVIVED from an ancient fossil and adjusted with metal coating and cannon.

Indeed. It has been improved with those disc-drives and all that awesome stuff ;D

Thing is, a primal genesect would be weaker than this awesome tech-insect. And probably less awesome ;)

But really, I´d love to see something crazy like Mega-Cradily or Mega-Bastiodon or just primal-Cradily.

I think Fossils are a bit underrated anyway, even though their design is either just interesting or plain

kick-ass (...Except Aurorus. But it´s cute, so I still like it). Personally, I think megas should also be used as an opportunity for some pokemon to be used more often and to get back into the game, and I´m kinda sad that fossils aren´t used that often. And I´m also very curious about their design choices with the megas ^^

I mean imagine the tentacle-monster that is called Mega-Tentacruel or Mega-Cradily...

Wut? Oh, you have a dirty mind, sir o__o I was just sayin´ they´d have more tentacles then...

*innocent-look*

I´d never say anything dirty about two tentacle-pokemon getting mega-evolutions! :P

Though I´d love to see Mega-Cradily. I actually like this pokemon, despite the pain it inflicted on me on that gym-battle in reborn. Grass/Rock is a fun combination, especially with storm drain and switching in.

To quote Dookieshed: "This thing can drink Amy Whinehouse under the table!"

Primal Tyrantrum? oh gods please yes

I´d love to see it getting more bulk, because then it could tank more of Talonflame´s attacks *maniac laughter* and then dragon dance to victory ^^ Either that or it´s jaw will become bigger and sharper and it´ll have increased attack.

Meh, if Tyrantum was to get a primal, it would look like M-Mawile and probably get similar boosts in stats.

Aside from that, the fossil pokemon were too weak to adapt to their environment, so some of them became extinct and others managed to survive and became something else as time went by. If we take this into consideration, it wouldn't make much sense for their primals to be better at battling, except for the case that their survival was that they were too strong and not able for some reason to survive, based on other criteria.

Relicanth is said to have stayed the same throughout its course in history, so I doubt it.

What I think of highly is MAGICARP. Yes, this useless thing used not to be useless at all, according to its pokedex entries. So, primal ass-kicking Magikarp? Please?

Hmm... wasn't there already a Primal Dialga in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky? I think he was the first one in getting the Primal form if i'm not mistaken... Just saying :P

Well, PMD is not canon for the overall timeline of the main series games, but still, that's probably where they got the idea for the "primal" names from.

I am honestly surprised they came up with this whole new concept, instead of just calling the new formes of Kyogre and Groudon... You know, just Mega Kyogre and Mega Groudon.

If this is a thing that will happen, I predict it will occur with the Sinnoh Remakes because they had The Underground and a Gym leader who was a miner who really liked fossils (or so I've heard. I haven't played any of the Sinnoh games, although I plan to fairly soon), so it would work well and there could be a little tutorial from him about new Mega Evolutions and Primals and strange stones he found while searching for fossils. Just my thoughts on the matter, though.
