[Resolved] TMs no longer breedable? Solarbeam Petilil

dalecarnegie

Question

Hi. I have a male Cherubi with Solarbeam and a female Petilil. I've hatched three eggs from them so far (by the way, each species getting its own egg is amazing), but none of the resulting Petilil have Solarbeam. I would quite like to run a Sunny day team, so being unable to breed relevant TM moves could be a roadblock. Is it random or guaranteed they will be passed on?

That's correct. As of Episode 13, Gen 6 breeding mechanics have been implemented. Part of that is that TM moves whether learned through level up or not, are unable to be passed down via breeding. You can turn back to Episode 12, but we strongly suggest that you don't because there's a good chance that it'll lead to your save file being corrupted down the road.

Interesting. Do you think it would endanger my save file if I turned back to ep 12 to do this one thing (I'm very early on in the game) then up to ep 13 again?

I can't say for sure, but we advise that you don't do it because it does increase the risk of the file becoming corrupt and unusable.

sorry to ask this but its kind of related, but do tms ever need to be breed because tms dont fade away after usage. I dont know if there is restrictions on the stages of evolutions in where tms cant be taught.

It's about TM moves, not actual TMs. Even if you don't have TM26, if you breed a Geodude who learned EQ by level-up with a Dwebble, you can get Dwebble EQ even without being in possession of the actual TM. At least that's how it used to work.
