Simon
Well, with the regular season finally over, it's Playoff time. Glad OKC and Miami got 3rd seeds. Here is the bracket for those who have not seen it. My picks for the first round are: Eastern Conference Clevand Cavaliers vs Detroit Pistons: 4-0 in favor of Clevand Cavaliers Atlanta Hawks vs Boston Celtics: 4-2 in favor of Atlanta Hawks Miami Heat vs Charlotte Hornets: 4-1 in favor of Miami Heat Toronto Raptors vs Indiana Pacers: 4-3 in favor of Toronto Raptors Western Conference Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets: 4-1 in favor of Golden State Warriors Los Angeles Clippers vs Portland Trail Blazers: 4-1 in favor of Los Angeles Clippers Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks: 4-0 in favor of Oklahoma City Thunder San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies: 4-0 in favor of San Antonio Spurs
Red_Chaos
dont really see an upsets in the first round tbh
Simon
The one upset that I keep hearing about is the Rockets upsetting the Warriors. I really don't see that happen, even if the Rockets were having a great shooting % throughout the series. Splash Brothers are too much for them. TRHStatement
First off, I'd like to say fuck the Rockets. Just this season. Hopefully they clean up next year. And it's not like I wanted Utah in the 8th seed anyway... Eastern: Miami and Cleveland are definitely winning their match-ups unless something drastic happens. D. Wade and Lebron are gonna meet each other in the Conference finals anyway. Toronto scraping by Indiana 4-3 is something I would love to see. I'm positive that will be the closest match-up. I want the Celtics to beat the Hawks personally. They've made some great moves this season and I think they will move on. Western: The Thunder are gonna sweep the Mavs. The Mavs had a better chance winning against the Spurs IMO. I feel bad for the Grizzlies, I really do. I have the strangest feeling the Clippers are gonna give it up to the Blazers. Fuck the Rockets Golden State is gonna sweep, but James Harden will have 2 40+ games. Simon
Yea, that matchup I can't wait to happen. Gotta get revenge for leaving. Especially being a Floridian myself. This series will be physical and probably overlooked even though it will be the best series to watch for the Eastern Conference. This definitely can go either way for sure. I agree that Toronto will scrape out due to Lowry making some clutch play. Never liked the Celtics, but I would have put them over Atlanta if they didn't have a great defense themselves. That being said, there really isn't a profound scorer outside of Isaiah Thomas and occasionally Avery Bradley/Jae Crowder. The only way the C's can win this if they use their advantage with their bigs to dominate the paint as well as to play their defense that made them known to be a threat defensively. I can see Mavs actually winning one or even two games since OKC has been messing up with controlling the lead. KD is still my favorite player and will always want him to win a championship (excluding 2012 Finals lol). I hope he can prove the critics wrong and beat GS/SAS. The Grizzlies are so banged up that it's remarkable how they managed to not only get into the Playoffs, but grab the 7th seed rather the 8th. I can't really see this happening unless the Clippers collapsed on themselves. They have way too many advantages aside the fact the Blazers have CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard to rain 3's if they have a hot hand. Also, I bet the Clippers would love to face the Warriors now that they have Blake Griffin back and maybe steal the series from them. Unfortunately, it's pretty apparent this will happen unless something miraculous happens in Houston where the whole roster comes together in unity and can play like an actual team. Even then, the Warriors would still be overwhelming.
Deleted User
Gotta love the lack of parity or upsets the NBA usually has. It's kind of ho hum.
Simon
Well, with the First Round over a couple of days ago, here begins the Semifinals. Here are my crazy picks cuz I'm partially biased :]] Also lol @ SAS fans complaining about the no call for Game 2 of SAS vs OKC. Ginobili not only managed to step out of bounds, he clearly leaned over the line and was within the 3 foot limit that's supposed to be given towards the inbounder. Plus, flopping doesn't help at all. Sigh. Eastern Conference Cleveland Cavaliers vs Atlanta Hawks: 4-0 in favor of the Clevand Cavaliers. Toronto Raptors vs Miami Heat: 4-2 in favor of Miami Heat Western Conference Golden State Warriors vs Portland Trail Blazers: 4-1 in favor of Golden State Warriors San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder: 4-2 in favor of Oklahoma City Thunder
TRHStatement
Those last 30sec were horrendous. 7 missed foul calls and the clock didn't even start when it was supposed to. Most of those fouls were on SAS though. (But what about the fan who grabbed Steven Adams on the sideline? Is that a delay game or what?) This is turning out to be a good semi finals. My predictions: Eastern: CLE v ATL: 4-1 Cleveland goes to conference. This is going to be a repeat of last year MIA v TOR: 4-2 Miami goes to conference. The Raps might take the Heat to game 7, but Miami is not letting them get away with the mistakes they make Western: GSW v POR: 4-1 Warriors go to the conference. Golden State are now getting called out on their illegal screens but they are still winning? So what was the problem before? SAS v OKC: 4-3 San Antonio goes to conference. This match up is too close to call honestly. But I like the Spurs more than the Thunder so, there's that.

Rockets or riot. Houston just needs one team that it can be proud of. We haven't had that since 1997 with the Rockets. Astros came close with the World Series, but fell flat on their face in 2005-2006. The Texans aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The Rockets are the only team Houston has that's won a championship in their respective sport.
Simon
Well, with the offseason the Rockets should hopefully rebuild that team as it really has no cohesion. Not sure if there really is anyone who would like to play alongisde James Harden. Anyways, I'm glad my pick for Thunder to win in Game 6 actually happened. However, the Heat-Raptors series has been painful to watch in regards to how injured some of the players have become or how poor the shooting has been overall. But yea, my picks for the Conference Finals are (I'll add the Eastern once the Heat-Raptors series is done): Eastern Conference Cleveland Cavaliers vs Miami Heat/Toronto Raptors: 4-0 in favor of Cleveland Cavaliers Western Conference Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder: 4-2 in favor of Oklahoma City Thunder (fite me GS fans)
Shanco
OKC I'm expecting to take the West as well, albeit in seven. The East has been injury-riddled as Simon mentioned so it's hard not seeing the Cavaliers make it out. However, Cleveland had very close season series with both teams; in the case of Miami v Cleveland, the home team always won.Raptors can probably do well vs Cleveland, if not win outright, if they win in Miami tonight and carry that momentum over to game 1 in Cleveland. They are really hurting however, so their chances are going to take a hit if Carroll and Valanciunas can't suit up for the Finals. If Miami takes the series, it's not the ideal scenario for them as coming off a seven-game grind of a series with three games already that have gone to OT. To have the best chances they'll really need someone in response to Bismack Biyombo; someone who can come off the bench and in the absence of greater talent for any reason, take a load off Wade and the others' backs. EDIT: Toronto just mauled the Heat in Game 7...that really changes things.
Simon
Well, rip Miami Heat. Proud of them to make a good run without Bosh and injuries. Good luck to the Raptors, but they're gonna get swept most likely.
Deleted User
Sixers get the number one pick. All these years of suck have finally been worth it (hopefully). Ben Simmons please.
Simon
Hopefully lol. If Okafor can maintain his health for the next season, then the 76ers should be able to pull a better record and begin their journey back to being a notable Eastern Conference team. Deleted User
The City of Cleveland's Title drought is finally over.
TRHStatement
73-9 doesn't mean a thing without a ring. Warriors put up a good fight until the 4th when they didn't score for like the last 5 min. Credit to the Cavs defense for shutting them down. Lebron finally filled his promise, now I think he can do whatever he wants. The question now is: Where is Kevin Love gonna end up next season?
Simon
The better question is: Will Lebron stay in Cleveland or return to Miami? If Lebron stays, K-Love will stay most likely. Otherwise, he'll leave imo.
Deleted User
LeBron isn't going anywhere. He only went to Miami in the first place to try and ensure he at least won a title in his career.
