So, Central Michigan almost ruined Christmas Eve for me with that near comeback.....Gosh.....

We've made it through 10 football games so far, and quite a few of them have been doozies. We had a high scoring Miami Beach Bowl that ended with one of the most brutal fist fights I've ever seen. We've had a service academy comeback to nail the game winning field goal and catch a break from the opposing kicker in the Poinsettia, we've had the near impossible monster rally from Central Michigan. Ah, I love this time of year.

(also, shout out to Rice, the "Harvard" of Texas, for netting me a bowl win and some bragging rights over a co-worker of mine.)

Standings:

1. Hilda (9-1) - 2-0 on the day. (1.00)

2. Jelly (7-3) - 2-0 on the day.(1.00)

3. Simon (5-5) Red (4-6) 1 - 1 on the day. (.500)

4. Red (4-6) 0 - 2 on the day.(.000)

5. Jericho (4-6) 1-1 on the day (.500)

Red had a rough day yesterday. The bottom of the standings are very, very, very close right now. Jelly has a 2 game cushion, as do I. Simon's not out of this either sitting at .500 on the bowl season.

Christmas Day games:

None. See you tomorrow for the St. Petersberg (Bitcoin), Heart o' Dallas (Zaxby's), and Quick Lane bowls. Merry Christmas, sports fans.

Friday will feature a trio of games.

Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl - Illinois vs Louisiana Tech

Quick Lane Bowl - Rutgers vs UNC

Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl- NCST vs UCF

Picks and reasons:
>I went with Louisiana Tech over Illinois because I've seen Illinois play a few times over the last couple seasons, once in person, and they are fairly anti-clutch.

>I picked UNC over Rutgers because Rutgers because Gary Nova is a mess of a Quarterback and Rutgers best wins were unimpressive, 2 point victory over Michigan, and 3 point win over Maryland.

>NCST because one of my friends from High School goes there, no other reason really.

La Tech is the more consistent team in my opinion. Illinois has a pretty salty team, but it never seems to be that way throughout the entire ball game.

North Carolina is dangerous and has some stars in the skill positions.

UCF is the better program than NC-State right now.
