[Spoilers: Dr. Sigmund, Noel, Lin, and theories!]

Ok this game's plot is too interesting..

I currently on yet another playthrough of reborn(last playthrough was up until episode 10, this is a brand new one from scratch), this time picking the alternate route of not fighting Dr. Sigmund in the Yureyu building. I've discovered so many cool things on this second playthrough, both things I had missed before and things only present in this route:

1) The Onyx trainer's school has diaries of Julia, Titania, Florinia and Amaria. Those were an interesting read.

2) The Investigation Squad's profile on Noel: Apparently Shade recommended Noel to be appointed the Normal Gym leader. Why?

3) There seems to be some sort of reason why Sigmund turned out the way he did. If you choose not to fight him in Yureyu, and then choose to stop Sigmund from exploring the kitchen in Laura's house, you get some dialogue I've never seen before. When Saphira accuses Sigmund of being a criminal (due to his treatment of patients and her family), he loses his temper, only to calm himself down by taking the name of someone called "Lizzy".

EDIT: Theory below is invalid, Lizzy is Sigmund's sister! (see second post by Arkhidon for more).

Presumably, "Lizzy" is Sigmund's lover, and something happened between them. Here's my theory: Lizzy was indeed Sigmund's lover. As a couple, they wanted to have a baby, but for some reason or another, this was not possible(infertility etc.). This led to them setting up the orphanage for Reborn's children; it was their own way of creating a family. Somewhere along the way, one of the orphans(perhaps Lin?), broke some rule(or rules) of the orphanage, and caused a horrific accident, one which led to the death of Lizzy.

Sigmund was devastated, and this drove him to take extreme measures to ensure the obedience of the children(electro-therapy). It is likely that the orphanage workers witnessed this death too, which might be a reason for their compliance with his methods. Either way, Sigmund continues to view the children of the orphanage (as a a whole), to be responsible for the death of his dear Lizzy. This is why he is outraged by Saphira's accusation; in spite of the tragedy inflicted upon him by these insufferable, ungrateful orphans, he continues his benevolent job of caring for the children, providing them with food, shelter and a home, only to be labelled a criminal. In truth, Sigmund probably views himself as a 'Saint' of sorts; he will continue his job of caring for the children, despite their attitude towards him, and despite his hatred toward them. In all likelihood, Sigmund continues looking after the children to honor the memory of his dear Lizzy, who would not have wanted them to suffer despite the atrocity they committed.

More interesting things: Laura mentions that there was a girl in the orphanage named Lin, who was even younger than Anna at the time. Supposedly, Lin was sadistic, and enjoyed taking pleasure in other people's suffering. Apparently, Lin also hooked Sigmund up to one of his machines(OMG..), and after that incident, she was never seen at the orphanage again.

Soooo many interesting things going on.. what do you guys think about Lin, Dr. Sigmund, and 'Lizzy'?

Also, first post! Made an account just to discuss this(that's how good the story is Amethyst!).
