Just going to leave this here.

Which brings us to the first matter we will discuss today. We need to separate ourselves into these teams."

"Jus' know dat aye ain' fight-" Asgall attempts to cut-in, but is instead cut off.

"Later, Asgall. First we decide who will join each team. Then we will decide which team will take on which mission.

Carry on, citizens.

you know, now that i think about it, a team of archers would be amazing in taking down a beast of the sea, since melee warriors will not be doing much in the watery depths of the ocean. Maybe some of the many marksmen in the rp could form a fully ranged strike team. RAIN DEATH FROM ABOVE!!!

But what if they find themselves n the Leviathans den, perhaps it'll be a cave where "Above" isn't a thing. plus, if the leviathan is the only thing they have to deal with, i'd be surprised.

I think that might be a one way road to a party wipe for all of us...

let's not even test that theory.

Yes, but sensai, sometimes it's best to not load all your chicks into one basket... and then set said basket a sail to fight a giant sea serpent who could likely cause a shipwreck in the blink of an eye.

And the smartest way to go with any party is to have at least some kind of balance, because it's almost guaranteed that the objective is never going to be as simple and straight forward as it seems, stuff will almost inevitably be thrown at us, stuff which if we try using some gimmick or specializing squads to deal only with the big bosses, will likely wipe us off the map before we even get anywhere close to the objective.

Balance is the key... I can sense it.

We have precious few healers though, besides, we also have character motivations to consider if any. For example, Murdocs character wouldn't stand for not going for the vampires throats, so she has to go with that party.

Well, when we consider the Leviathan party, we have to consider how the battle will take place. From a boat, Archers would be ideal, but who says it'll JUST be the leviathan? perhaps it has little baby leviathans to tear your throat out, a melee character would then be ideal to deal with the creeps.

which is precisely what I was talking about. just because the big bad is what you're ultimately gonna have to kill, doesn't mean it would be a bad idea to consider that some situations might come up where having a bit of variety on the team might actually help out.

Also, who says you have to kill the big bad? You just assume. I mean yes it is a giant leviathan of death and doom... but... must it die? Is death the only solution? Is it not at all possible it has it's own motivations? The same with our werewolf friend and the Vampire queen. At the end of the day, the parties will fall into place, and while it is nice to have them be balanced etc, who's to say what could happen? Anything could in theory.

There are more ways to solve a problem than sticking the pointy end of a sword in it. Though, players like to assume that is the only one. Keep an open mind, and smell the roses a little, it isn't fun if you don;t try something crazy. Rationale only gets you so far. What are you going to do in a situation that makes no rational sense otherwise?

Consider those words.

Welp, a well balance team was formed. with that said...anyone want to adopt Raven? I promise he won't bite yet. XD

I wouldn't mind having Raven along with me. His skills would be useful.

Despite that, we still do not know which team goes up against who. So it makes sense to balance the teams.

I'm just preaching because I don't appreciate dying from someone else's stupidity...

Well, looks like we have an elemental party forming here... if only there were someone who could control earth, then it would be complete...

Well, we do enjoy the trickery. I propose this question, then.

What is more important? The party as a whole, or the combination of individuals that compose it?

In the end, it's what we must consider, after all. The needs of the many versus the needs of the few, and all that.

My brain hurts from these questions.. And this fever, cough, cold and bloody insomnia aren't helping.. So ya.. For now I am gonna ignore them.. Let the pro's handle them...

I have a sneaking feeling that you're going to posing a lot of philosophical questions to us over the course of the plot of the game now...

Is this a social experiment, just by any chance?

Giggles

I will neither confirm nor deny either of those.
