Damage
Hey guys, been playing the game for a while now as some of you may or may not know. Been stuck on this thought for the longest time as it's the same thing that crosses my mind with this and any other pokemon game... How long has it been? I mean how many days since Peridot blew up? I know maybe I'm nitpicking but its really bothering me.
Deleted User
Are you asking how long it's been since episode 1 was released? I'm not quite sure what else you could be saying here.
Administrators Ikaru Posted December 27, 2014 Administrators Share Posted December 27, 2014 I think it's as far as ingame goes. Like, how many ingame days has it been. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for that, but I can probably drag Ame here and see if she's thought about it at all.
Damage
The second was right. I want to know how much time has the main character experienced since he was locked in this city.
Damiano
I don't think anyone would really know. Including Ame. So I'll take the easy way out: It varies. Time grinding is canon (otherwise your characters pokemon were born freakishly strong), losses to gyms are canon (proved by the leaders change in dialogue), being stuck on a puzzle likely the same. So it all depends on the player. Yup that's the answer I'm going with. (Because thinking about these things will only lead to more confusion)
Administrators Amethyst Posted December 28, 2014 Administrators Share Posted December 28, 2014 Yeah, there isn't a canon time period. This is somewhat true even in main series, so I write under the assumption that it could be practically any amount.
Guzam
Just check your ingame time man :V In all seriousness I'd say maybe...less than a month actually. You can't just let a criminal orginization move to the top of a volcano for a month can you? Not to mention you go to save Luna after she is kidnapped. That would be less than a day or two imo. You have no time to waste when there is a hostage situation. It all depends on the situations and how long they would take in real time. That's my two cents on this. Mortally Divine
Every trainer battle takes 5 minutes per pokemon Wild encounters are 5 minutes, 7 minutes if you catch them. Every area switch is 30 minutes of travel time per area. Every major story plot (gym leader, luna kidnapping, orphanage break) takes a full day. Damage
I don't want to leave the calculations to me because well the game did that and it says I rolled through the world's strongest in less than a day. My guess in all seriousness is roughly a month like jman said. The first few events seem to line up as if they happened moment after moment because the player is dragged into it. Future events imo can be seen as the player taking an active role in helping. So with losses against gym leaders and especially ones that want to kill him like Corey, the player takes time to make sure they wont die. Or if you decide to become a student at Kiki's school and train with students, (if you choose to see it like me) then the story can be kind of lengthy which is nice. Because otherwise like Damaino said, you would be unnaturally strong which Reborn as a whole has proven that no one was born with talent, that is earned here. Didn't think I'd get exacts more curious as to people's thoughts,
derekwst3
how about this each stronger battle is one day. Gym leaders, Rivials, PULSE, and similar battles I would count as a day so I say little over two months, that's the reason you seem to be the major player doing everything, there are a few others but they are not as special as you and cant destroy team meteor as fast as you can
Damage
Logically that would make sense since every time you destroy a pulse they seem unable to move it and their manpower decreases each time meaning they HAVE to make a new one. Can't imagine making what is essentially a pokemon engine is easy. Unless they've been robbing pokemon centers and the healing machine is pretty much a weak version of pulse. NickCrash
A month is way too soon for your Pokemon to reach lvl75. When you speak to the people, sometimes it's just like several events happened simultaneously. I mean, even after days of adventure, the people will still think of you as "the boy who lived" the train crash, as if it happened hours or a couple of days ago. We don't need time in this. We don't eat, sleep or talk. All we do is capture pokemon and turn them into killing machines. We can't afford to stop and think of the time. edit: also, Reborn city must be in a really bad climatic area, if I cound how many consecutive days I had thunderstorm Edited December 30, 2014 by nickcrash
Damage
Maybe the character sleeps when the game is off. He sleeps standing up like the grunt in the factory.
Lost Lore
Maybe the character sleeps when the game is off. He sleeps standing up like the grunt in the factory. That must make leaving off in the middle of exploring a Meteor base really risky... or, can you imagine sleeping in Tanzan Mountain when earthquakes are still on? Maybe the pc is a werewolf and doesn't need to sleep because they don't get any resting bonuses from it... oh wait
Damiano
But we know the PC can sleep while the game is on because you can use a bed in Laura's house and Jigglypuff in the factory. Maybe we're just playing through the life of some challenge seeking weirdo. And by maybe, I mean definitely.
NickCrash
Or this is all a dream. You don't sleep in your dreams, but you can imagine being in a world where magical creatures can be caught in tiny prison balls and be used to battle. A creative mind could make this setup and believe it is real. As you can force yourself to believe you are actively participating in this, you can even picture you sleep for 3-4 seconds before you continue your quest z..Z..Zzz...zzZZzzz...z

Mortally Divine
if countless hours of grinding all happened in my mind in 1 second, I think my mind would literally explode.... EDIT: and in the after credits, once you've waken up to go to school, you walk out to see your dad is taking you to school. But the thing is; Fern is your dad.
