Bullet
Prologue Part 2 Shoukan! --------------------- Darkness will fade to light... Light will crumble to desire... And a legend will fade away~ "ODIN!" "Wha-?" He blinked, once, twice. "Ah, just you is it? Well then-" He stopped short, gaping at the image before him. Flashes of color danced around the gruesome form, distorting its appearance. It was human, yet not. Thick black tendrils of rough flesh emerged from below its cape, blotting out Odin's view. "This time, you're mine!" "No!" Odin clenched his fists, screaming at the top of his lungs. "WAKE UP!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Haven. Refuge. Hellhole. There are a multitude of names for the Garden, good, bad, in between, anything. Yet, only the few that have ever graced its outskirts know what to compare it to. Prison was not far from the reality of the place. A thick, titanium wall reminiscent of past human accomplishments encircled the perimeter of the gargantuan area. Beyond that seemingly insurmountable wall, was the outside world, a foreign concept to many residents of the Garden. Since centuries it had stood, its harmony disrupted by few. Generations ago, they had been just another people in the vast world. Yet now, they were different, having been separated from the great expanse of the planet. The people practiced subsistence farming, requiring no imports for food. Little did they know however, the very purpose of their existence. For within their masses, there lay a special few, perhaps only one in ten-thousand. Those of the outside world labeled them "super humans", "demons", and other names. But here, they lived in secrecy, maintaining the facade of being "normal". The immense, uncharacterizable pressure that emanated from it, sent chills down the spines of these "superhumans". An enemy they could not surpass with a thousand, a million years of training, that lurked deep within and could not be confronted. Yet, it would be foolhardy to think this would last. It would only be a matter of time when someone with an unquenchable curiosity and an unsurpressable fighting spirit would be born. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "My god, are you all right?" Odin groaned, struggling to keep focus. "Not an illusion, are you?" He was breathing heavily, and his body was drenched in a cold sweat. "You're reappearing in my dreams Risu. Just another trick for him to get closer to me." Risu sighed, leaning against the wall and staring at Odin, who's silver hair was scrambled, his usually alert emerald eyes oozing with concern and lack of focus.. "You don't suppose it's my fault for staying with you, do you?" Odin stared at her, unresponsive. He stumbled to his feet, dragging himself through the doorway. "Not at all Risu. Not at all." Random Trivia -------------------- I actually wrote Part 1 of the prologue and Chapter 1(not posted yet) a couple of years ago, meaning this part didn't exist originally. Threw it in to add some more backstory =/.
