Solarance
Does walking around gain any happiness?
Deleted User
Yes. Just like in the main series games made by Gamefreak, walking around with your pokemon increases their happiness. It's just very VERY slow. To increase happiness quicker you can buy friendship berries or vitamins in the department store if you have enough stickers to get up to a high enough floor. You can go to one of the salons as well. Gaining levels is another quick way to increase happiness of your pokemon. Here's a fairly accurate guide to how to increase happiness. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Friendship#Generation_III
NickCrash
Don't forget the ice cream! If you give a (blue?) moon ice cream to any pokemon it will raise their happiness to the maximum. It's THAT tasty
Arkhi
As Nick said, Blue Moon Ice Cream is an incredible way to raise happiness. The amount of happiness raised is almost enough to max happiness of a 0-happiness Pokemon.

Simon
Should be Gen VI asfaik. To be honest, not much changed from Gen V Happiness mechanics onto Gen VI besides a few things.

Someone complained that using a Blue Moon Ice Cream doesn't guarantee a happiness evolution, which means that Blue Moon Ice Cream yields less than 220 happiness points.
