Knight_Teutonic
Ok guys. I have an in-game team (post-terra) with 5 pokemon, and I need help on getting a 6th member. I don't like raising more pokemons than that, so I was thiking of maybe getting a good pokemon for coverage. I will post details about the other team members and then you guys make suggestions/criticism. Criticizing the movesets of these pokemon is also quite welcome. Here we go. This guy here is my Typhlosion, my Ace. It has 252 EVS on Speed and Special attack. It's capable of sweeping entire teams with it's Eruption attack. I've tried to breed Will-o-wisp onto him from my vulpix, but this pokemon only inherited Extrasensory, which is almost always useless. Swift attack is useful for that Muk which used minimize three times, but I can replace it as soon as I find something better. Typhlosion Modest Nature 252 Spd 252 SpA -Eruption -Flamethrower -Swift -Extrasensory Sceptile is also a special sweeper, good for taking out those nasty quagsires, swamperts and seismitoads that we see once in a while. But I only use leaf storm against very bulky opponents, otherwise I just use a miracle seed-bosted energy ball. Hidden Power gives it coverage against poison-types when my ground-type pokemon already has fainted. Sceptile Modest Nature 252 Spd 252 SpA -Leaf Storm -Energy Ball -Hidden Power Psychic -Dragonbreath I usually don't have much patience with slow pokemon, but Swampert greatly helped me out against Terra's garchomp thanks to its avalanche attack that I bred onto it. It's also a great wall and impossible to OH-KO without a supereffective grass-type move. Swampert Brave Nature 252 HP 252 Atk -Earthquake -Surf -Waterfall -Avalanche Metagross is also a quite fast pokemon, if you give it max investment on speed. It always gets its job done when called upon to deal with those pesky meteor grunts and save reborn. It's steel type gives it lots of useful resistences, so I got that going for me, which is nice. Metagross Jolly Nature 252 Spd 252 Atk -Meteor Mash -Hammer Arm -Bullet Punch -Zen Headbutt My luxray has some good moves, and max investment on speed, so it can outspeed almost everything that comes in her way. The only downside of owning a physical electric pokemon is Wild charge's recoil, and without potions, she faints quicker than any other member of my team. I decided to give her Ice fang already thinking about the dragon and flying gyms, which will have lots of pokemon weak to ice. Luxray Jolly Nature 252 Spd 252 Atk -Wild Charge -Crunch -Ice fang -Swagger As I have said, suggestions for a sixth member are welcome, that's why the topic is here for
Qaaz
Tyruntrum, Florgess, Froslass, Dusknoir, Hawlucha, Drapion, Dragalge Some good options
dondon151
You can try Nature Power on Typhlosion. You also have the option of running Flamethrower or Fire Blast in conjunction with Eruption. Edited January 10, 2015 by dondon151
laggless01
It depends on whether you want a tank, a sweeper etc...If it's for a sweeper (that is not mentioned in this post), then Archeops and Crobat come to mind. Gengar doesn't get any poison-type move naturally (gen6 breeding mechanics), and except for maybe a futurestarmie/aegislash/metagross/bronzong... ghost/dark types won't have a lot of use.If you want a tank (outside those already mentioned)...maybe Avalugg (but you have avalanche, so...). I'm not good with tanks, so no thanks to me for that part. Besides that, Pachirisu is always fun if you want to annoy the crap out of opponents. Charm/Super fang/nuzzle/sweet kiss is pretty fun, and effective, if you give it the right treatment.P.S. Nice that a sceptile got in your primary party Edited January 10, 2015 by laggless01
Taska
Archeops, Staraptor, Honchkrow, Froslass, Tyrantrum, Steelix seem like pretty good options.
Knight_Teutonic
Thank you guys for the feedback, it enlightened me a lot. You can try Nature Power on Typhlosion. You also have the option of running Flamethrower or Fire Blast in conjunction with Eruption. I will do that. With the diverse amount of fields, Nature power can do a thing or two. Tyruntrum, Florgess, Froslass, Dusknoir, Hawlucha, Drapion, DragalgeSome good options Archeops, Staraptor, Honchkrow, Froslass, Tyrantrum, Steelix seem like pretty good options. I will try these out, especially Archeops, Frosslass and Tyrantrum. It depends on whether you want a tank, a sweeper etc...If it's for a sweeper (that is not mentioned in this post), then Archeops and Crobat come to mind. derekwst3
I would recommend a fairy of some sort, personally I would say granbull
Follow
Maybe a fighting type like Mienshao, Hawlucha, Lucario, Heracross, Scrafty, or is your metagross taking care of the enemies with Hammer Arm? A fairy/ice will also be great, like sylveon, gardevoir, mamoswine, froslass, I really don't think swampert can take care of Saphira alone. As someone has said before, Honchkrow and Archeops are also great options. Edited January 11, 2015 by Follow
Deleted User
Sylveon. That team would struggle with Dragons.
Farnsworth
As stated before your team has a big weakness to Dragons, nothing other than Metagross likes to take hit from them. So, I recommend adding an Ice or Fairy type. Solid options include Mamoswine, Sylveon, Clefable, Azumarill and Froslass. Personally, I'd go with an Azumarill with Aqua Jet since it has a monstrous attack stat with Huge Power (the equivalent of base 150) and is very bulky, however its speed is an issue. Kiryuu
I'm going to look at your Poke move set and give my opinions of it...them I leave you my recommendation for the 6th Poke Typhlosion: Take out Swift for Nature Power..... Sceptile: I would breed another one with Hidden Power Ice. I would take out Energy Ball for Endeavor....I would use Leaf Storm to 1 hit KO Pokes and them switch out when the opponent will send another Poke. You can run White Herb with this guy.... Swampert: Take out Surf for Hammer Arm, why 2 water moves? Brick Break is viable but the Hammer Arm drawback won't impact this Poke, he's slow already. Metagross: Metagross can outspeed everything by 1 Agility, rendering the 252 Speed useless. I would recommend to get Agility over Bullet Punch and take out those 252 Speed IVs, and invest those on 252 HP...Change it's nature to Adamant.....Give it Wide Lens..also change that Hammer Arm for Brick Break....... Luxray: ...no comments, he's good Now, for the 6th member.....Froslass hands down. Not only it solo Terra itself on my run, it's my favorite Poke (u need a dragon slayer, she won't disappoint ). How to run Froslass and what move? check my signature Edited January 12, 2015 by Smok3iT
Gaunt
First question: how did you get to Terra without 6 Pokemon? Like i already have 6 when i'm agaist kiki (or Aya at max), anyway there's plenty to choose from but what your team needs is one thing (and one thing only): DRAGONS! or well at least 1 dragon i recommend Tyrantrum (with Dragon Dance, Rock Head and Head Smash it kills many MANY things)
NickCrash
I suppose he has pokemon he uses, but changes them around and wants a standard 6th for the team to be competitive. My suggestions are the following:A defensive Cofagrigus with WoW, Hex, D-bond and a move of your choice If you have the patience, raise a Clefable to deal easier with Dragons. You will meet Saphira, Heather and Ciel after all. A Frozlass is always nice. Scrafty is always a choice. Great coverage and nice defence. Knight_Teutonic
Since people are recommending Frosslass, I will try her out. It has a good movepool, stats and typing, so I approve. I will also try the movesets recommended by Smok3iT. Now I just need one thing: I'm trapped beyond the agate circus and I can't breed new pokemon without going back to reborn city. What should I do? Kiryuu
I'm trapped beyond the agate circus and I can't breed new pokemon without going back to reborn city. What should I do? Unfortunately you can't backtrack. I recommend you save in Agate Circus, them, download EP12 or 11. You should be able to in either of those versions... Knight_Teutonic
Did you beat Terra? You can go back if u did Oh, yes, I did. I just forgot to check it out, so I assumed it was still blocked. Anyway, thanks for the reminder. Unfortunately you can't backtrack. I recommend you save in Agate Circus, them, download EP12 or 11. You should be able to in either of those versions... I actually made it to Reborn city now thanks to Qaaz, but it seems like the Dep. Store floor with a dawn stone (to get frosslass) is also blocked. So I'll follow your advice and download the previous episodes. Thank you very much. Edited January 14, 2015 by Knight_Teutonic
