SilverJakler
Is this doable? Because as far as I can see I'll only have Torchic/Chimchar/Tepig until after I beat Julia, unless there's something I'm missing?

Taska
As far as I know you can only get the previously listed fighting types up until after Julia's gym.

dondon151
Combusken can solo Julia, no problem. If you fight only the required battles, you need exactly 1 Common Candy to prevent Combusken from reaching L21 during the Julia fight. It's a little harder right now because Double Kick doesn't work properly in Julia's field and Flame Charge doesn't quite OHKO her Voltorbs. derekwst3
yeah a starter (6th gen grass is also a fighting type), mankey and makuhita, croagunk when you have rocksmash then when you get to the fighting dojo you can get meditate and machop, others near the beginning gallade, heracross, scraggy, pancham, tyrouge

There's also exactly one hidden Common Candy in the Peridot Ward, luckily. If I remember, it's in a crate at the North factory.
dondon151
There's actually a second one hidden near the house with the Panpour, and I'm pretty sure the house with the Panpour also contains a visible Common Candy. Honestly I think the hardest battle pre-Julia is the trainer with the fucking L9 Noibat, that guy should not be allowed to exist. Deleted User
If Combusken not learning Double Kick is a problem go ahead and do it and when it becomes combusken send me your save file and I'll teach it Double Kick. It's my fault it's not learning it right now.

Guzam
Since no one has yet, I will post EVERY fighting type obtainable so far in Reborn. I will only say the final form of this pokemon however. *Ahem* Primeape, Poliwrath, Machamp, Heracross, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, Blaziken, Hariyama, Medicham, Infernape, Lucario, Toxicroak, Gallade, Emboar, Conkeldurr, Throh, Sawk, Scarfty, Mienshao, Chesnaught, Pangoro. That's a list of all the obtainable ones. Want to know how to get them? I'd recommend going here. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6802&hl=%2Bpokemon+%2Blocation Keep in mind, I'm not sure if some locations have been updated for episode 14 (If any fighting types were changed that is. I believe Riolu is the only one). Edit: Guess who forgot Heracross. Thanks guys. Edited January 16, 2015 by Pyrrhon
SilverJakler
Thanks for all you're help, guys. I'm most likely gonna have to start with Torchic since I'm gonna be running with one guy until after Julia. Cuz y'know, Speed Boost OP. Once I beat Julia I should be okay, because that means Mankey and Makuhita.
dondon151
I think all of the relevant starters can solo Julia. Monferno gets Flame Wheel at L19 (same BP as Double Kick) and is faster than Combusken to begin with, Pignite gets Flame Charge at L15 and has higher atk than Combusken, and Quilladin has Rollout. Quilladin might have the hardest time.
Kurotsune
Fighting monotype is not only doable, it's among the easiest. Your only real difficulty would be the psychic gym but you can get Scrafty and Pangoro before that. ...Even when fairy types come around, you'll have Lucario and Toxicroak to deal with them. There isn't really any gym (as far as I can recall) where a fighting monotype has any difficulty. Maybe Shelly, but Blaziken can easily solo her entire team (even in 2x1) with a correct set-up. For shade you also have Scafty and Pangoro... Yeah, honestly, can't really think of a situation where a fighting monotype will have any difficulty at all. Maybe when Ciel comes along that'll change. We'll see.
dondon151
Aya seems nightmarish. Gallade isn't yet obtainable and Medicham can't get Zen Headbutt before Aya anymore. Since no one has yet, I will post EVERY fighting type obtainable so far in Reborn. I will only say the final form of this pokemon however. *Ahem* Primeape, Poliwrath, Machamp, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, Blaziken, Hariyama, Medicham, Infernape, Lucario, Toxicroak, Gallade, Emboar, Conkeldurr, Throh, Sawk, Scarfty, Mienshao, Chesnaught, Pangoro. This list is conspicuously missing a Heracross. Edited January 15, 2015 by dondon151
Kurotsune
No, but he can get calm mind and confusion. He can set up for a sweep if protected enough.
dondon151
Confusion sweep off a base 60 spatk? Yikes. Medicham also can't take physical hits well and will probably be constantly poisoned. Probably a better strategy would be to buy Facade from the Game Corner and power through Aya with a Guts Hariyama. Kurotsune
That'd work too. Medichan is still pretty useful against Aya, however. Stall long enough for him to be able to pull off three calm minds and it'll be able to deal significant damage to any of her pokemon. Guzam
Not to mention we have Ciel coming up. If she is in the big top, she will use fly and bounce to her advantage. There's a lot of possibilities for Ciels team. I'll just link the field effects page and you guys can look at the big top field. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/game/fields.html

There are the steel bars (I think that's what those are) in the upper part of the tent so you will probably have to battle her up there. Also, I remember a NPC talking about Ciel using ribbons to move between the bars in her dances (possibly a hint to her field effect). Not to mention that every gym leader has his/her own field effect, so I don't see Ciel and Samson sharing a field. Your theory makes sense, but remember that in the big top field, many flying-type moves (acrobatics, fly or bounce) get a good boost. Ame wouldn't put this additional effect for us to defeat samson more easily (since he's a fighting-type gym leader), but instead, for us to suffer during the future battle with Ciel. I'm pretty sure Ame said somewhere that every gym leader would have their own field effect (please correct me if I'm wrong). Also there are only three flying-type moves that gain a boost (one of which isn't even accessible). My bet is that they gain a boost because they fit the theme (pressing/hitting the floor), acrobatics also makes sense (since it's very circus-like). I don't think it means anything, there are other miscellaneous moves that gain a boost. However, this is all assuming that we battle Ciel in the circus (which may not happen). LittleDevilex
Maybe the field you get will depend on a choice you make, like with Corey. So you could both be right.
