Ever wondered how your name/nickname sounds in Japanese? Try it now using this:

Or this inaccurate but possibly fun way:

A=ka, B=tu, C=mi, D=te, E=ku, F=lu, G=ji, H=ri, I=ki, J=zu, K=me, L=ta, M=rin, N=to,

O=mo, P=no, Q=ke, R=shi, S=ari, T=chi, U=do, V=ru, W=ma, X=na, Y=fu, Z=zi

Mine would be Risa or Ta-ki-ari-ka

Takalulutakuariari...ok then, I found a new troll nickname :P

But seriously, in a lot of cases you can simply recreate your name in katakana or so. If you have linux, you can download 'kana test' from the software center for free.

Arichishikachimoari (Stratos)

Yeah... no, think I'll stick to using english for it. though maybe if I put a hyphen or something in somewhere it'll make it flow better...

though If you've found a better name conversion tool, let's see what it is.

The fun way led to Katekarin tamomami.

The straight cinverter resulted in

アダム ジェームズ ロー (adamu jeemuzu roo)

Adamu Jeemuzu roo from Adam James Lowe. Just let that sink in.

The "accurate" way is just a transliteration of your phonetic name into katakana.

The fun way is not only inaccurate but also wrong; Japanese has no kana for anything starting with L,neither is there a kana for "tu", and "ari"/"rin" are two characters each.

The best way to get a japanese translation of your name is to find out the meaning of your name, translate it into Japanese, then work out a kanji for it.
