Zephyrus the Priestess
"Messiah Complex" I am the Way. Lay upon me all your sorrows and burdens. For you who thirst, drink, and never be thirsty again. For you who knocks, the door will be opened; Ask, and receive Seek, and find Comfort, for you, who are laden with troubles. For I feel that my existence is worthless if you have no need for me I only wish to be by your side.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Morning" (alternate title: "Where in I Make My Daily Commute") The world is black. I stumble to get Started on the day. The world is gray. I pull my clothes on Sleepily, and prepare, without delay. Oh, and, I try to wake up, too. The world is blue. How cold it is today That even the wind shivers with me. A brown beetle drives me to the station Where I wait patiently for the train I missed. On the opposite shore, a big red millipede Rolls in, announcing its arrival. It takes off When a silver snake slithers into my side Of the station. I board immediately And lean against metal rods. Two voices speak to me One crackles away The other has a violin's voice. Now the sky is white And I'd forgotten about the sun Who blushed before flaunting His glory, scattering all over The world. I walk, white beetles And gray caterpillars thundering by And to my left, white mountains of rubble, Or treasure for scavengers, and gray walls I fly to a nest of blue eagles, and stand On the shore Awaiting the shuttle I'd just missed.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"A Two-Liner for the Man of the Dreams I Never Had" It's kinda amazing how your name was my daily prayer. Player, you called me, among others. The scars are still there.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Of Fairy Tales and Sleep Paralysis" (alternate title: "stupid 7:30 AM classes Sweet Dreams, They Said") My body trembles in bed. I can't breathe Not after a night of listening To the songs of maidens and men. My body trembles in bed. I can't move; surely this Is the curse of a jealous witch Or the price of gazing upon princes. My body trembles in bed. I can't shut my eyes - In fear I try, for what if I see wraiths and giants? I finally close my eyes - And try to think of you Your voice, Your touch - But it's even worse Because I can't keep from drifting away Into a sleepless dream.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Cytotoxin" You rot from within: it's killing you, softly-- Slowly. The sickness inside-- its symptoms don't hide-- Tears at your body and mind steadily. Poisonous parasite puncturing painfullest Trying your sanity, putting strength to the test. Deny it, defy it, you'll just further decline in it For burning emotion eats you by the minute.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Blackguard" You, who knew so well what began my pain. Despite the shame you express, I've no pity nor grace to spare. Others may think me merciless, too full of disdain-- But tell me, is doubt of any kind so easy to repair? Seize him, then, he who held the dagger And thrust it in, blade colder, sharper Than wicked ice. Perhaps it was foolish of me To entrust myself to he who was more than a somebody. And though I rest now, with the traitor banished and thrown away Black thoughts and dark shadows haunt me all day. Bonus Poem: "Zero Hour" I stood by the sidelines And longed to reach you, who were there, Close yet painstakingly distant, You whom I yearn for dearly. With heart on sleeve I hesitate-- Charge. Falter. Again and again-- Without noticing, it's half-past zero hour And you were gone, again, forever.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Abnegation" Oh not now; I mustn't click on this tab. I've to finish this first; man, schoolwork's such a drag. Messages? No, I've got to resist Although the notifications continue to persist. That funny video she told me to watch, The becks and calls of others I don't care for much, The silly hope that you'll ring me up any second Are all just distractions that'll mess up my motion. I too often ask, "Why the frustrating gesture?" "Simply", I remind myself, "so that I can see you in the future."
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Dysaesthesia" It's so frustrating how I can't get you out of my skin. Please make it stop, just stop-- The strange sensations within-- Can't stop stopping cause it's got me ticking Just get out of my head, don't touch me, please I won't know how to feel Except like I'm ablaze Helplessly, helplessly burning away
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Eagre" Swift coursing river. Fresh flooding influx flushing Out impurities. Hark, see the water Rising, kissing the shoreline Then recede, return. It makes all things new.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Furfuraceous" And here I thought my poem for the day Would be about marvelous and beautiful dragons. Bran-like scales, though, to my dismay Have nothing to do with the grandiose reptilian. Since I can't put it in a more artful way I'll tell you bluntly and abruptly, without delay The word's got something to do with dandruff. Zephyrus the Priestess
"Gressorial" Fight or flight; it's all part of the process. To adapt is to survive; one of the instances Would be when you learn how to walk on your own two feet From merely crawling on the ground. Never admit defeat. Zephyrus the Priestess
"Halitus" Huff, huff... Wispy white smoke Twisting, spiraling in this Frigid air. We're huddled together For better or for worse; any Thing is better than being alone, now. Shuddering. Shivering. You're quaking But holding me all the colder. Closer. I can almost see the words you try to say with your every breath hanging, twisting spiraling in the frigid air like wispy white frozen smoke
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Ianthine" Ianthine, like irises in bloom. That's the color of your infinite eyes. Your coat is the dusk just after the sun sets. The stars come out slowly, as though they were shy To gleam in the periwinkle sky up high. The scent of your smooth hair and skin is Mild lavender, a hint of fickle violet. How fitting Cause that's how you are, fleeting Here one moment and gone the other for too long Ephemeral. Zephyrus the Priestess
"JATO" I soar on the gales of our euphoric laughter. Who needs a navigator when I've got our stupid jokes? Turbulence's got nothing on our resilient power. Doesn't even matter if we're freakin' broke. I can live on our conversations, logical and nonsensical Even when we all (ways) get maniacal. Through the ups and downs, the highs and the lows We stay close no matter how hard life blows. At air resistance, we just scoff. Doesn't matter; we're pretty and tough. On our own, we're awesome; united, we achieve liftoff.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Kame" After a million years of the cold shoulder We changed. Jagged. Stranger. Farther. When the ice broke and melted, we Stood far apart defiantly. I wouldn't really have it differently.

Zephyrus the Priestess
"Noctilucent" ... The night is shattered and the blue stars shiver in the distance. - "Tonight I Can Write the Saddest Lines" by Pablo Neruda It blooms in the secretive nocturne Slowly, Silently. Bluish-silver petals glow like a faint lantern. Wings slowly spreading, three tiny orbs scatter Scintillating. Shining faintly, as the blossom opens. Selene kisses each bloom with her rays And each slender stalk sways In dancing, dancing As the silent strings play In praise for the absence of day. On cool evenings such as this When the night's breeze shivers and sings to and with you Harken. And listen to The song of a moonlit field in bloom, lest its magic you miss.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Ord" People often don't realize the power of a word. Why this is so is uncertain; perhaps they've never yet heard How a heart agonizes over verbal insult, or their minds've never been stirred By a charming, charismatic speaker who renders one's judgment blurred. This I find preposterous, for even the blind can see and the deaf've explored That often, as they say, the pen's much mightier than the sword.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Palillogy" Repeating things makes them lose their meaning. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry-- but I really am, honest The meaning's lost when they keep on repeating. Don't do it, I love you. I love you. Don't do it. When these words I utter, I don't even stutter. I promise you, please, please, please, I'm sorry, I love you The same torment again and again on deaf ears again and again You promised, you promised, liar, liar, liar Again and again, I'd already lost my will then. You never understand, you never listen, liar, liar, liar. Things would work out, I'd always pretend. Again and again and again and again.

Zephyrus the Priestess
Hey, thanks c: I really appreciate it. "Reredos" How intricately woven, how resplendent, magnifique! One can feel the heart at work, the soul, the earnestness Behind every uttered word, sacred, with much mystique. He speaks and finishes repeating the prayer And just goes back to being a hearty sinner.
Zephyrus the Priestess
"Skerry" Aye, the sea, roars ferociously But we stand firm, just like this skerry. No matter how high the waves of fury Or low the catch of fishes, me hearty, Davy Jones can wait another day But never will we be swept away. O, the sea, it froths and spits! But we swashbucklers are full o' wits. Though most daren't lay a boat on her pits We gutsy and brave don't give any shits. Davy Jones may wait for days We guzzle our rum though the ship sways. Zephyrus the Priestess
"Tryst" Some clues for tonight's rendezvous: A fleeting second's worth of eye contact Tickets for two A messy compact Missing house keys Convenient excuses Being teased, getting weak in the knees An influx of muses Frequent glances at the clock That always seems to mock With a slow tick and tock More fleeting glances from across the room The hiss of perfume And the sudden disappearance of two Like clockwork, right on cue.
