"No, I didn't mean it like that. It's just that...I...uhm...my limbs...nevermind." The one thing Kelsey really wanted to do right now was run away back into the town and hide inside the church walls. She would've too if she didn't fear facing Virgil's wrath. "I don't think going into town is a good idea. Virgil really doesn't like when recruits do that. He should be here soon so you can settle it then." Once she finished, Kelsey looked down on the ground and slowly dragged her foot back and forth. As long as she didn't make eye contact, she could handle anything else they said.

Lucia walked over to Kelsey and reached out a hand. "I should probably talk to her... I can't just always stay in the back and hide my voice. At least she was brave enough to speak out the the group." She thought to herself. "H-hey there~ It's nice to meet you, and everyone else around here. We should all get to know each other well, so if it's not a problem, what can you tell me and/or everyone here about you?" She asked with a small smile on her face.

"Then he better be here lickity split. It is his or somebody over him's fault, and I am not one for shoddy paperwork." Emberly said, with a small sigh. She planted her sword firmly in the ground and leaned on it, looking bored and impatient. Why working fro the Red Lance was decent. It was on her time. The Army had so many annoying hurdles to jump through. Red Tape to traipse around. She just wanted to smash some skulls already, was that too much to ask?

"Yuri-kun, you sure you did everything right? You didn't want my help with the forms so maybe they didn't get to the right place? You would think after four years of my expert tutelage we wouldn't be defeated by mere Paperwork. CURSE YOU PAPERWORK!!! ALWAYS RUINING MY DAY!!!" Drake shouted yet again. It was hard to dispute Drake was a passionate person at the very least.

Yuri ignored Lucia's comments about talking about the past. He'd never liked going and telling people about his past, every time he did they'd look down or fell bad for him and he hated that. So instead he responded to Drake's comment. "Yea I did the papers right, you just make things more dramatic then they need to be." He said a little annoyed, "I'm sure Vigril won't be too inconsiderate, and if he is oh well I'll just go off by myself." He didn't wanna deal with the hassle though if it was easy enough he'd do it.

"You aren't going anywhere just yet, Yuri-kun, I spent four years training you. I am going to see those results! So, wherever you go, I follow." Drake smiled her signature smile once more. "I guess I might as well be sociable while we wait for that old geezer to get his butt down here, however, I don't really got much to tell about myself. I am just a mercenary so unless you want to listen to war stories for awhile, there isn't much I can tell."

"I'd rather not," Kelsey responded still looking down at the ground. "All of you look pretty tough so you'll all be sent to the battlefield by the end of the week. Just like the rest." She then raised her head realizing she was talking to. "I'm so sorry. That was really rude of me. There really isn't anything special about me though." The priest seemed to be a bit more comfortable around this girl as she seemed a bit more gentle compared to the others.

"That's perfectly fine, about you not wanting to. It's nice to see that you think we're all strong, but you shouldn't worry about us being out in battle... we're all most likely here to battle for one reason or another." Lucia replied as her smile faded a bit. "But hey, we all have a little something special about ourselves, and you're no exception~" Her smile picked up again as she talked with Kelsey.

"She's right, you know." Komorrin said as he walked over to Lucia and Kelsey. While he wasn't sure if he should join in on their conversation, he had to at least do something while he waited, and it was either this or listen to Drake's war stories. Even though he was usually one for stories and lore, he didn't want it to be interrupted should this "Virgil" arrive while she was in the middle of it, leaving Komorrin with the only other option. "Everyone has to have SOMETHING special about themselves." He pointed to himself. "Take me for example: if it weren't for the fact that I could use magic, the only problems that I could solve would be in the form of a question. So, you can tell us if you want to..." He paused for a second, realizing what he just said "...Although, if you don't want to tell us, that's okay too. I won't be mad, I promise." He added, not wanting to push Kelsey into saying something she didn't want to.

Kelsey slowly distanced herself a bit when Komorrin also approached her. "That the thing: there isn't anything special about me. I'm just a mere coward who hides in the church whenever she can. I can barely even hold a conversation like this without wanting running away. The only reason I haven't is because of Virgil orders." She gave a quick sigh now looking back to the ground. "I must look pretty pathetic now. That's what most of them say."

Somewhere in the distance, a bigger looking man could be seen dragging a boy by the ear. If someone were to look up close, they could see was not happy at all. Some of the shepards noticed this and decided it might be best to relocate and tried hard to move their flock away from what would soon be a war zone.

Karl turned away from the boring brute to talk to the group surrounding Kelsey, though it looked like he probably wouldn't get much of a word in, so he kept it short "Abut as pathetic as you think you are. So, don't think you're pathetic. Not good, believe me on that." Then he took a step back, aware of the ill-tempered man approaching

"If you don't wanna fight then don't," Yuri said towards Kelsey calmly after Karl walked away, "If you prefer to help rather then harm I see no shame in that." He then looked over to see a man dragging another by his ear towards their location, "Well, it seems our man is about here and by the way he's dragging that boy this should be interesting."

Komorrin stopped in his tracks when he realized that Kelsey took a few steps back. "Looks like she really didn't want to say anything." He thought to himself. "That's only fair since she didn't want to. She had just met us, after all." He was about to speak when two other people, Karl and Yuri, he believed their names were, said what they had to say. He looked to where Yuri had turned his attention to and saw the two that he was talking about. "Well then, looks like we can finally get started."

Holland snapped back to reality to see a man dragging a boy by his ear. "Ha! What a ruffian. If I were 'em I'd have that boy over my shoulder, kickin' and screamin' like a baby." Holland was impressed by the demeanor of this man however. He seemed strong and had a serious look about him. Just the right kind of person to lead a group of trainees.

Lucia places her hand on Kelsey's shoulder. "You're an amazing person, and don't you forget that." Lucia then looked into the distance to see what everyone else was looking at. "I don't think this will be very fun... but it may be eventful. I'll just have to ask about what's going on between those two, but I should keep my sword ready at hand." She got ready to draw her rapier as she headed over to the man and the boy, ready to ask about the situation.

Training Group

The man and boy finally reached the training group after what felt like forever. The man then released his grip on the poor boy’s ear now focused on the people in the area. Even though he didn’t speak any words, he still looked quite intimidating. His face was clean of hair, except for a mere brown moustache and his face gave no expression. The armor was what was most impressive. The dark blue armor across his chest was shriveled with streaks of silver all across. This clashed well with the heavy load of armor on his left arm along with a bit on his legs.

Kelsey ignored the man though. She seemed quite relieved as she quickly ran up and embraced the boy. “Zachy, I’m so sorry. I hope he wasn’t too harsh on you.”

“It’s quite alright, but remember our agreement on hugs.” The blonde haired boy straightened his green shirt once the priest released her grip. “There is one way you can make it up to me. Can you keep gramps occupied for a minute?”

“Um…I don’t…” Kelsey didn’t even have time to finish as the boy had already taken off. Seeing as she had little choice, she made her way over to the big man. “Excuse me…”

“Did you at least get the attendance done?” The man didn’t even bother to let the girl finish. His voice seemed rather calm though.

“Yes, but I might have missed one of them. There’s a name on there I don’t think I heard yet,” responded Kelsey.

“I’ll just figure it out as we go. I guess you’re not completely worthless.”

“There’s something else I need to tell you. Someone’s name didn’t appear on the list, but they claimed to fill the paperwork out.”

The man’s voice suddenly changed from calm straight into yelling. “Who gives a shit? Just because a senator was too damn lazy to get off of his ass and write a name on this worthless piece of paper, doesn’t mean I’m gonna turn away a soldier willing to fight for his kingdom. We need every bloody man we can get. Do I make myself clear?”

“Yes, sir,” responded Kelsey as she now stood frozen in fear.

The man now glanced at the paper then walked over to Yuri. “From the looks of it, I’m guessing you’re the missing name guy. You’ll have to forgive that Priest. She tends to cause some unnecessary panic. At least no one tried to kill me this time.”

RubyHeart

While Virgil was busy handling that, the blonde haired boy made his way over to a girl who looked like she was about to pull out her rapier. He became rather intrigued by her and even went into striking range.

“That is quite a magnificent sword you have there. It almost matches your own beauty.” He gave a quick flip of his long hair before continuing. “Now I must ask: where does a maiden as yourself hail from?”

"I LIKE THIS GUY!!!" Drake shouted as Virgil finished talking. She immediately popped over to Yuri's side. "Paperwork be damned! And I told you it would be fine Yuri-kun." Drake conveniently forgetting she actually said nothing of the sort. She leaned on Yuri a little bit, placing her elbow on his shoulder. She had already shifted her great sword to her other hand, and it rested on her other shoulder. "Don't worry, this one is with me." she said pointing to herself again. "Now, to business! Surely we have something I can slash to pieces, my sword hand is getting itchy again. Both of them actually. My legs too. And my head... actually, just most of me."

Komorrin nearly cringed when the man had started yelling at Kelsey. "Jeez, and I thought my instructor during the Academy's training regimens was loud." he said quietly, hoping that the man hadn't heard him. His mind drifted off as he wondered how everyone was doing back there. "They're probably fine. As long as the Onishians don't attack with a force larger than the one they had the first time, they can hold out for a while longer."

Yuri let out a big sigh, "The reason why you're itchy is probably because you haven't taken a bath in days." he then turned his attention back to Virgil, "Anyways, as long as I'm in I don't mind not being on a list. Besides the less lists I'm on the better." Yuri said casually as he rested his sheathed blade on his right shoulder. He wasn't easily intimidated by people, it could be arrogance, confidence or a mixture of both. Either way he wasn't going to go all 'Sir, Yes Sir!' anytime soon.

Holland nearly flinched when Virgil yelled. He thought, "What a powerful man. I haven't seen such a man since I stopped fighting in alleyways." Virgil looked like he'd make a great sparring pal. Holland was out of practice and could use someone of Virgils prowess to buff up again. Holland was about to get a word in until he realized Virgil was already talking to Lucia. He thought, "Bah! How could he have not noticed my muscles first? Am I not showing them enough? Maybe I really am out of practice..."

His mind drifting a bit, Nemir took a small book out of his pocket and began to read. He didn't really care what anyone else was doing as long as he got to kill Onishian soldiers eventually.

Lucia blushed with slight embarrassment when she noticed the golden haired boy talking to her. "Wh-who, me? Um... Thanks I guess." Her voice went back to normal before she spoke up again. "I'm not from anywhere special, just a small village outside the city where I helped my father around his black smith shop. In fact I only recently started up as a black smith here." Lucia looked down at the ground as she continued. "I know, I'm boring."

Virgil's attention quickly shifted from the thief to the firey haired girl. She was so tall that even Virgil had to tilt his head up a little bit just to see her face. "I'd rather be out there fighting alongside leading my men, but we have to follow these damn policies they made. From the looks of it though, you'll be out of here in three days flat. Until then, that itch will have to wait."

RubyHeart

"Ah, I remembering hearing about that shop from a young lass." The boy then drew the copper colored bow strapped to his back and flickered the string of couple times while talking. "It's astonishing why you don't take pride in what you do. Without people like you, I'd be trapped within the walls of my hometown halting my quest to find a maiden to call my own. And the people of Annea wouldn't be able to hold off the might of Onishia. Please tell me that this dull life of yours wasn't what brought you into this conflict."

Karl had been listening to Virgil idly, getting rather bored. He sighed and raised the obvious question. "And what will be doing in those three days? Hopefully not just listening to Ms Mountain yell all day about wanting to fight." Then Karl thought for a second, might be a good idea to add an honorific. "Sir" he added hastily.

Chaust wasn't sure what to think of this "Virgil" person. On the one hand he seemed very brash and rude, but on the other he seemed to genuinely care about his country and the people that live in it. Either way, he may not have to like him, but he certainly respected him. He noticed the dwarf... Karl, was it? Ask about what they would be doing in their downtime.

"Yeah, I'd like to know that as well... sir."

"Well, that is better than a wide unspecified gobbledygook of time for certain. Still want to hit something, but I guess it can wait." Drake said. She didn't hear Karl at all really, if what he said even reached her ear. She was either talking much to loud, or completely not paying attention to him at all.
