"Don't let your gaurd down yet, they might surprise attack us." Yuri said before he started to stretch. He didn't mind some down time though they could strike at any moment and he'd rather not be eating some then suddenly being attacked by some brutes.

Komorrin was a little surprised with Drake's response. "First, she couldn't wait to fight and now she says that she can wait three days? That's quite a sudden change..." He thought to himself. "Still, I should probably ask..." Komorrin raised his hand. "Excuse me, sir, but when you said that she'll be out of here in three days, does that just apply to her or does it apply to the rest of us as well?" He felt as though he already knew the answer to this, but he felt that he should ask anyways just in case. The sooner he can get out of here, the sooner he can start his search for that woman and the tome that she stole from him.

"I must thank your kind words, Zach. I took pride in forging every weapon, and helping to repair other's equipment, although I don't seem to show joy about smithing. I must admit that my original reason for running the shop was to step up for my father after he past away." Lucia spoke up as she continued. "I have chosen to join this little training group here because I feel like I have to do more than just make the things I love. I feel like I have to use them for what they were meant to use for. Besides, if I were to die, I would want to die while helping our kingdom and while doing the thing I love."

Training Group

Virgil clearly heard everyone ask the same questions every other group asked. He was about to respond when he saw the boy talking with one of the new recruits. “Excuse me, I have to deal with Trouble over there then I’ll answer your questions.”

Meanwhile, the boy was completely oblivious to the man heading right towards him. “Funny. You don’t see too many girls….ahhh.” The archer felt someone yank him back. He turned around to see a very unhappy Virgil.

“What the bloody hell are you doing boy?” Virgil yelled. “You need to get head out of your ass and stop flirting with every girl you see. Now drop and do twenty.”

“Sir, I wasn’t flirting,” Zach quickly responded.

“And for lying, give me another twenty.” Virgil watched as the boy slowly griped as he crouched down and began doing push-ups. “Make sure your face kisses the ground. That’s the only kind of kissing you’re ever gonna get.”

Virgil made his way back to the middle of the group now, still speaking in a loud voice. “For starters, you babies need to stop whining like little bitches and grow up. The front lines are rough, especially against a fierce army such as Onishia." Virgil gave another quick look at all his new recruits. "From the looks of it, all of you here are fit to fight…well almost everyone.” Virgil gave another quick glance to the midget before continuing. “That’s not how we win wars though. You see these people around you, you’re gonna be stuck working with them for the next few days. Don’t like them, too bad.” Virgil then made his way over to one of the Mercenaries who spoke out. “Those three days are when I teach you the basics of war. Things out there aren't like those stories you've been told. After covering that I'll send you off should I feel your ready. If I don't, I’ll be working on whatever the hell I see is wrong with you. Just for reference, most of you will be stuck here a week. You should be thankful I’m even doing that. Those senators would rather you be sent straight out and slaughtered in minutes. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the priest over there. She’s seen it happen with her own little eyes.”

Kelsey just stood there idly. “Please…don’t bring that up.” She looked as if she was about to cry.

Virgil ignored the priest’s words glancing over at a nearby road. “They’re running late again. Until they arrive, you’re free to converse.”

Looking up from his book, Nemir paused and said "Aye, I know that much is true. These lords....senators...whoever they are...they don't care for us. Only victory and the riches it brings will appease them. If we die....they can always hire more." Then he turned back to his book and wondered how many replacements they might need after the first battle.

"Yes, Sir!" Lucia exclaimed, paying no mind to the poor archer boy whom is stuck with forty push ups. Not knowing much of what do to in another free period, she walked over to the nearest wall to rest against as she didn't feel like talking with anyone else after Zach made her feel a little embarrassed.

'More training? I thought four years with Drake would be enough but I can do three more days.' Yuri thought to himself as he sighed. He wasn't much for conversing with others so he proceeded to lay on the ground with his hands behind his head, still holding onto his sword's white ribbons which the blade was resting above his head where he lay.

"Just one more week... Just one more week before I can start put an end to this..." Komorrin thought to himself. "At least I'll be able to get some practice before being sent off to the battlefield. Until then, however, there's nothing I can do but wait." He walked over to a nearby tree to pull out a pack from behind it and took out a bottle of water. After taking a few sips from it, he looked at the bottle and frowned, remembering that he had to spend a lot of his gold to get the supplies in order to make the journey leading up to here. "The worst part is the fact that I have quite a bit of it left over..." He thought as he took a deep sigh. "At least I have more than I need rather than less..."

“You lot sure are quiet. I guess that’s a good thing. Means you’re going to listen to me more.” Virgil couldn’t help, but remark at the silence. “I’ll tell you what: since you guys want to get out early, I’ll make you a deal. If you think you can kick my ass in a sword fight, I’ll send you straight to the battlefront with Sir Heizen’s men.” There was a grin on his face as he withdrew his sword. The silver tipped sword was well polished and one could see their reflection in it if they got close enough.

Kelsey heard Virgil’s words and immediately reacted before everyone else. “Sir, what if someone gets hurt? Shouldn’t we wait for…”

“No, these rookies need to learn what war is like first hand,” Virgil interrupted. “Besides, it’s not I’m going to kill them so you can just treat whatever happens easily.”

“Okay. Just tell me when it’s over.” Kelsey turned around and put her hands over her ears. She really didn’t want to see this.

“So, who’s up first?” Virgil asked.

DragonMasterKrim

“39…40.” The archer collapsed to the ground once he finished that last push-up. He didn’t even budge for a minute. “I feel pathetic. Not even a twitch from that lass. That hurts more than these push-ups.” Zachariah tried to get up, but quickly fell back to the ground. He looked over to a tall pirate looking man close by to him. “Could you please help me up?”

Karl stepped up. "I don't mind trying, if it'll get you to amend your "Most of you are ready" comment previously" I certainly am capable, if unwilling, to work on a battlefield dammit. Karl drew his own sword, holding it one handed and to the side just a little, leaning the other way slighty to make sure his centre of gravity was fine Balance and agility are a Dancers best traits

"A Silver Sword? This guy is good or at least is well armed... that dwarf is toast." Emberly thought to herself. Emberly was pretty familiar with most weapons having fought in many battles. Anything form factor she could more or less tell what it is was at a glance. She had heard rumors of even more rare weapons, but she had never seen them in her travels and battles. Emberly would now watch this match between Virgil and the Dwarf. She didn't have much faith in the Dancer... as well, he was a dancer. But, she would for now give him the benefit of the doubt.

Nemir looked up again as Virgil issued a duel request. "Finally something interesting going on...although I probably wouldn't fare well against that silver sword. I'll let the others weaken him first." He thought to himself. Then he heard someone ask for help and looked down. It was the kid who was ordered to do pushups. "He's exhausted after only 40? This kid wouldn't make it on a ship, let alone in a battle." He thought, but extended a hand anyways. "And you are?" he said.

Komorrin's attention turned toward the man when he issued a challenge. While the reward for winning had sparked his interest, he knew he wouldn't stand much of a chance, especially against that Silver Sword of his. "I should probably wait for a few of the others to go first." Komorrin thought to himself. "If I have any chance of beating him, it would probably be best if I know his fighting style, then plan around it." He looked a little surprised as he noticed that Karl was getting ready to duel with the man. "Well then... at least someone's stepping up."

Chaust watched as the brave drawf challenged Virgil to a duel. "Heh, this should be good. Let's see how the little guy fares." Chaust always was one to root for the underdogs, so naturally he was hoping that Karl would put up a good fight... for the little guy's sake. If not, he'd try his hand soon.

Virgil certainly seemed to have the advantage of him, most likely having more experience in battle and a MUCH better weapon that him. Chaust never made a weapon in his life but he had an eye for craftsmanship, and that Silver Sword Virgil was wielding was no joke. All in all, this would be an interesting bout.

"Even with my speed, I'm sure enough that my power and skill are not enough to bring him down. I'd much rather train for the time we were given than head right out to battle. I don't even have all my equipment with me, I only have my sword... my beautiful sword. Anyway... my point being -since I'm talking to myself- is that he isn't the kind of guy I should go up against right now. Unless it would be to just give him a laugh or two, because I don't have proper training in 1-on-1 combat." Lucia lost herself in thought as she waited to see if anyone would even dare to step up to him. She convinced herself that she may give it a laughable shot if no one else after the dwarf would give her a match to watch.

'That boy has a death wish. He'll probably won't last long enough to make me laugh, though I have to give him props to have the balls to go first.' Yuri thought to himself as the small dancer challenged such a big man. He sat up giving his attention to the fight, hopefully this'll be somewhat of a battle instead of a slap to the face.

Holland chimed in, "I don't mean to bother ya commander, but not all of us are sword users. An axe user like myself is clearly at a disadvantage against someone of your capabilities. I'd have no chance? How would we counter an enemy in war if we were all to be split up and faced with our weaknesses?" Holland thought of what he had just said and how his commander would respond. Would he yell at him? Make him do 20 push-ups like that poor archer? Maybe Holland could use some push-ups. Holland was prepped and ready for a punishment. That is what he had come to expect from the decisions he made throughout his life.

Virgil couldn’t help but break out in laughter seeing as the little tiny man was the first to accept the challenge. “You’re a funny little one, aren’t you? I ain’t gonna take back what I said about you, puny. You want my respect you gotta earn it.” He flicked the sword into the sunlight for a moment, but this time everyone could see the other side where a small red gem was embedded into the guard.

“The rules are simple: the first person to bleed even a single drop of blood loses. You’re allowed to use any sword you have on you as well. Just to make you feel better, midget, I’ll even let you make the first move.” The general then turned to the man who spoke about his axe for a brief moment. “Axes smaxes. You just gotta get a little more creative in those times.”

RubyHeart

After hearing Virgil’s laugh, Kelsey forced herself to turn around and see the horror unfold. She saw that the little guy had accepted Virgil’s little game. Seemed like Virgil did this every single week and someone always took the challenge. She couldn’t bear to watch it happen anymore. Zach was too far away so she couldn’t go to him, but she really didn’t see anyone else she could go to…except that Myrmidon from before.

She quickly rushed up to her pleading, “Please, you have to snap the little guy out of this. Virgil doesn’t hold back to anyone. He’s even beaten guys who looked tougher than any of you to near death.” The Priest then dropped to her knees. “I’m begging you. I don’t want to see it happen again.”

DragonMasterKrim

The archer reached his hand out to the pirate man and used him to prop himself back up. “Thanks,” he responded. “I’m Zachariah Giarman, the man on a quest for the perfect woman.” He turned to notice some accepting Virgil’s challenge. “Seems like there’s always one person who tries this. I never seen anyone even come close to beating him. How long do you think the dwarf will last?”

"Creative indeed" Karl immediately kicked up some earth into Virgils eyes, not hesitating for a moment, lest anyone sway him from the actually fighting as he hopped a couple of steps to Virgils right, swinging his sword lightly at his side, keeping a watchful eye on the mans sword. If this gets him, i'm ditching this cause here and now. No way am I working under someone so easy to dupe.

Lucia gave a big sigh as she looked down at Kelsey and patted her head. "There is no need to beg. I'll do it, but that doesn't mean that he will listen to me. Though if you're really that worried about him, then if he denies my request to back down I'll challenge the dwarf myself. Virgil probably wouldn't want to get all worked up over a forfeit anyway. So I can at least give him something to watch." Lucia smiled down at Kelsey as she stood up to walk over to Karl. She could feel that the aura around Karl and Virgil was tense, though it was clear that it was mostly coming from Virgil. She quickly regretted the idea of even thinking about challenging him.

Lucia rushed in between the two before they could start the match. "Virgil, can you please let me have a word before you start anything!" Lucia started to tremble a bit. Was it fear of the large man she just shouted at, or was it just her fear of talking to a crowd? "what am I even doing?" Lucia thought to herself. "It is to my belief that you enjoy fights... but I do not think that anyone here right now can give you the joy of a real fight, if they were to fight you... And so, so you don't have to get exited about nothing, I would like to ask if I may spar with Karl in your place. As something for you to watch... I know this sounds stupid, but I am asking you anyway. Also... if I lose then I won't get in your way like this again." Lucia's trembling and fear had past, though hesitation was still in her speech.

Karl stared blankly at Lucia. "No. Now get out of the way before one of us jabs you. The good commander here has decided I'm not good in a fight, I need to prove otherwise to him against HIM, no one else. Sorry, you'll have to wait your turn love" Karl was angry now. What, was he someone so frail he hadn't even the right to even try and fight someone stronger than him? To the point where a random stranger thought this? No, whatever happened, he had to fight Virgil now. Like hell was he gonna be looked down on, at least metaphorically if not literally.

Holland watched the small dwarf fight and scarmble about. "The hell is this kid? First he picks a fight with me, and now this? Aye, I must at least commend him for his bravery..." Holland looked at his axe and thought back to Virgils words. "Get creative." Holland watched as Karl kicked dirt up into Virgils face. "How...creative. I wonder what I could accomplish if I was more like him?" Holland examined the area they were in and tried to think of a plan.

"This is bad..." Komorrin thought to himself. Not only was did this fight seem to be one-sided to begin with, but now there's a third person caught in the middle. He put the water bottle back in his bag and started to make his way toward them, making sure to keep out of the way for now, but close enough to act if something should happen. "I should probably do something. I'm just not sure what to do yet." With that thought in his mind, he prepared himself should things go far enough south.

Dobby and RubyHeart

Virgil was a bit surprised by the girl running into the center of the battlefield. No one ever tried that before, let alone try to take his place in a duel. While it was true this battle wouldn't bring him satisfaction, he never really cared about that. Suddenly, he had an idea. "I'll admit, you got guts, kid. While crushing everyone's spirits is fun and all, it does get a bit boring. Tell you what: the first one to stab the other in the guts will earn my respect and be sent to the front lines."

Karl was incensed, he didn't want to fight Lucia, why the hell could he not be taken seriously, even despite his size? He was capable in his own way, he'd proven that time and again. He had dancing skills that literally made people feel better, not just mentally. Karl decided he'd rather get it all over with quickly, thrusting his sword at Lucia quickly, without a word. He certainly wasn't gonna treat this like a duel with all the formalities
