((Dobbs, I am going to hope you are okay with this if not, just tell me.))

Emberly sword Came crashing down towards the Dwarf's blade. She did everything she could to not harm the dwarf and just knock the blade from his hand. "The hell is this farce? Who calls you an officer? Cause you are a shit officer if that is the case. I don't care if you don't want to train us, I get that. You see plenty of troops rolling through here to their deaths everyday." Emberly said, clearly not to happy with the man now. "You sow discord in the ranks by making us fight each other over a stupid competition to get out of training. Who would give you the authority over troops, when this is how you train them? By pitting them against yourself or each other? I am a mercenary and I know how to handle troops better than you. I HAVE LEAD THEM IN BATTLE!!! AND YOU WOULD PULL THIS FARCE?!?!?! YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO YOUR COUNTRY AND EVERYTHING THIS ARMY STANDS FOR!!!" Her anger reached a boiling point. She stared at him, fire in her eyes. "NO WONDER THESE TROOPS JUST RUN TO THEIR DEATHS, YOU CUT FUCKING CORNERS AND YOU EXPECT THEM TO HAVE A FIGHTING CHANCE!?!?! WHY KNOT PUT A SWORD IN THE HAND OF EVERY CHILD AND THROW THEM OUT THE DOOR TOO!?!?!?!? I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE TRAINED BY THE ONISHIAN EMPIRE!!!!"

((that bloody why... with the word not after it emote...that is why it is spelled knot up above.))

"Honestly? Not long. Something tells me we won't get to find out though." Nemir said as Drake knocked the blade from Karls hands. "I'm Nemir by the way. Most know me as the Blackthorn." He found that as Drake raged at Virgil, he agreed with her. "She's right, you know. Having us fight each other is in no way a good idea. I'd much rather put my skills to use killing Onishians." He said, putting his hand on his sword.

"Oh, that's just Virgil's way of testing people," responded Zachariah. "He tends to pull out the heroes and brutally beat them down. As for your little comment about Onishians, that's what they all say. Never heard of anyone from this camp surviving out there...except Kelsey."

Training Group

Virgil gave a quick chuckle before responding to Emberly. "If only times were different. I'd let you join the ranks of my own men. As for your little rant..."

"Excuse me, sir, but I have arrived." Virgil turned around and noticed and older gray haired man wearing steel armor. He dismounted his horse and and walked over to Virgil during the commotion. "I swear the queen will have your head one of these days."

"Probably." Virgil was used to this man's lectures whenever seeing him train the group. "You brought the weapons."

"Yes, sir." The old man pulled out a huge back and propped it in front of Virgil. He also held a second bag. "One more thing: you've been asked to step down and rejoin your men on the front lines. Heizen will takeover for this group. Something about bending too many rules."

"Thank the goddess I'm free." Virgil then turned back to the group. "I know this is going to piss a lot of you off, but this old fellow is here to collect your weapons. We're starting to get short on weapons so we need as many as we can get. There are some worn out Bronze weapons in that other bag meant for you. Once you get out of training, we'll get you some nicer ones."

"Sorry to say this, but that's a big "no" from me." said Chaust abruptly. "This sword of mine has special value to me, and I'd rather not part with it, if it's all the same to you." he continued, glancing at the blade in question in its sheath as he said so.

Collecting weapons? Really? Didn't they think that some of their weapons were more than just tools to them?

"But, I guess if they really do need it, I'd like to see it returned to me after training. I mean, if it's not too much trouble?"

Lucia looked back as she heard two swords clash. Her eyes were wide with anger, but have calmed down once she noticed what had happened. "That was close... I'm not even sure if I was ready to take on that dancer. At least I didn't have to avoid an attack like that." She closed her eyes, looked down and sighed in relief . Lucia place a hand on her chest and felt her heart beating faster than it normally does. "Why is it so fast? I didn't do too much... I guess I'm just letting some things get to me. I suppose I should thank Drake for blocking that sword... maybe a little later though."

Lucia turned back to see what was happening with Virgil. She listened well at what the older man had said.

She was rather shocked when he had said the group has to give in their swords and weapons, but was happy when she realized she could keep he father's hilt.

She just smiled at her new instructor as she gave in her blade and took a new sword out of the bag. She latched her father's hilt on the other side of her belt and put the new sword in its place.

Holland willingly gave up his iron axe. It wasn't too much better than a bronze axe anyway. Holland wasn't used to powerful weapons anyway seeing as he was very poor before he joined any sort of army before.

Nemir smiled at the comment of nobody surviving. "Aye, but something tells me this group is going to be different. Not to mention I've killed quite a few of them already." Then he walked over to the half full bag and took his swords off his belt. He kind of regretted having to give up the cutlass so soon after taking it, but he sighed and threw it in after his steel sword. What soldier would want a cutlass anyway? Then he took a bronze one and sat back down.

"About my blade," Yuri walked over to the man taking weapons, and unsheathed his sword. Though when he took it out there as barely any blade to it. "I broke it recently and as such it's not usable. The blade shattered into many pieces though I have the blade parts in my sheath trying to find a blacksmith to fix it with no success. They keep saying that they think I'm crazy and I should just buy a new sword but I can't let go of this one for personal reasons. So would you mind if I keep this, its no use to someone broken into pieces am I right?" He put the 'blade' back in it's sheath and held onto it waiting for an answer.

"That sword is worth more than you are," Virgil quickly interrupted before the old man could directing his attention. Some days soldiers have to stand in the front lines weaponless because of selfish people like you who think too highly of a damn piece of metal. Hell, I had to give up 14 swords and axes and I'm a general. If I were your boss, I'd personally rip it from your hands, but you're Heizen's problem now. The big baby would probably cave in and let you keep it."

"Don't talk so poorly of the head general, sir," responded the old man.

"I can say whatever the hell I want about it. Besides, where is he even? Knowing him, he'd probably forgotten about this already," Virgil hashed out back at him.

"As much as I want to disagree, I cannot. He should've arrived here shortly before myself." The two looked around but couldn't see anyone in sight. "Please tell me he didn't get lost."

Virgil then noticed the younger boy walk up with a broken sword interrupting the old man once again. "Get that piece of shit out of my face. We'd be scolded for wasting the armory's time with that thing."

"Sorry boy, but there isn't anything I can do about that and it's like Virgil said. I guess it's alright to keep it, but I'd suggest pitching it. It's not worth risking your life over a mere memory." The old man then looked into the bag and pulled out some aged Daggers. "These might serve you better than swords. I've plenty of them so take half a dozen or so."

As soon as Lucia was done handing over her weapon, Kelsey quickly ran over. "I'm so, so, so, so sorry. I didn't mean for you to do something like that. Are you hurt? I hope your not hurt. I can heal you if you are hurt. Please tell me your not hurt." Seemed like the girl was going to keep going and going unless someone stopped her.

With a combination of shock and confusion, Komorrin couldn't react fast enough to do anything to stop the duel and had only just snapped out of it when Drake had started yelling at Virgil. "Well then... looks like the problem has resolved itself." He thought to himself as he adjusted his glasses. While he had hoped to do something himself, he now considered that he would've just gotten in the way. He then heard that everyone had to give away their weapons. While some of the others seemed a bit disappointed, Komorrin didn't really mind. He walked back over to the tree to grab his bag and walked over to the man holding the bag. After approaching him, he reached into his pack and put two other tomes into the man's bag. Before walking away, he realized something. "Oh, wait..." He took out his Thunder tome. "I nearly forgot this."

Lucia grabbed Kelsey's hand and stared into her eyes with a smile. "It's alright Kelsey, I'm perfectly fine. I'm just starting to worry about you because you're starting to panic a bit. You don't need to apologize, I was also rather interested in what the dwarf was capable of since he looked strong." Lucia let go of Kelsey's hand, she then held her hands behind her back and continued to be friendly with Kelsey. "I think you should go sit and rest up for a bit. I can join you if you want, but I have to ask the new commander about when we are leaving to the training grounds." Lucia walked over to Jenkins with a normal look on her face. "Sir. I would like to know when we will leave for training. I should also tell you that I appreciate you stepping in as our new commander and you have my full respect while we undergo training." Although it was her first time speaking like this, and meaning it, she was sincere about it and bowed.

Taking the harsh, but rather true words, Chaust sighed and replied. "Yes, fine fine, you have a point. I'll turn it in." He removed the sword from his belt and inspected it one last time. However, this time was different, strangely, after all this time he'd never seen this one detail.

There was a tiny gem, a ruby to be precise embedded in the sword's sheath. Chaust carefully took it out of its socket and placed it in his pocket. "Well, guess this'll have to do as as a keepsake, sorry I can't keep the blade, old man." he thought to himself as he went to place the sword in the equipment bag. As he put the sword into the bag in front of him, he felt his heart sink a little. Strange, considering it would see battle anyway. Was it because he'd most likely never use it himself, or was it because he generally felt remorse over having to break a promise he swore to keep? Mostly likely both.

These thoughts kept eating away at him as he grabbed a Bronze Sword from the pile and returned to his sitting spot, somewhat unaware of what was going on around him, the conversations sounding fuzzy and distant.

In Yuri's mind he had let out a sigh of relief, he couldn't give away this blade under any circumstances. The memories of his parents were why he was fighting and he will keeps searching for a smith to fix it even if all of them won't he'd still have to try. Yuri starred at the daggers, the only weapon he had trained with up to this point were swords. He picked up one of the daggers a took a few practice swings at a nearby tree to see how it felt in his hands, "I'll take the daggers, though don't plan on me being too experienced handing these guys." He said while taking about six daggers and inserting them on his belt then he used the sheath's ribbons to tightly tie the hilt of the broken blade onto the sheath and placed it in the sword belt on his back so it wouldn't be a problem in battle.

"Aye, I'm certainly no commanding officer," quickly responded the old man. "This old bag of bones is nothing more than a simple soldier. Heizen's the one your looking for. Don't worry, he's a good fellow. As for your training grounds question, this miserable piece of land is the best we can do. Normally we do training in the castle courtyards, but things have erupted so quickly we have to get you folks out there the moment your ready."

"Give me that!" Virgil yelled snatching the book from the poor mage's hands. He flipped through the pages for a moment before shutting the book. "These things seem to disappear faster than anything else. We need as many as we can get." He then tossed the book into the bag and looked in the other sack with a bit of a grin on his face when he held another yellow book. "It's your lucky day. Seems like someone tossed a thunder tome in here by accident." He tossed this tome towards Komorrin and watched it flop to the ground in front of him. It was a bit worn, but still seemed completely functional.

Komorrin picked up the tome that had been tossed by his feet and began to examine it. It was worn quite a bit. Then again, the one that he originally had wasn't exactly in perfect condition either. After looking through it's contents, Komorrin decided to put the used tome to the test. Tomes like this were basic, but he wanted to be sure it worked properly. He picked up a decent sized rock, tossed it in a direction that wasn't towards anyone or anything, and proceeded to blast it with a ball of lightning. Satisfied with the fact that he had hit his target, he looked back at the tome. "I can work with this." he said with a small grin on his face. He picked up his pack and started to walk over to the others and stopped when he recalled Virgil mentioning a need for tomes. He turned back to the two men. "Just one more thing..." he said to them. "... if there is a shortage of tomes, I would recommend asking the Academy for some. I'm not entirely sure what they currently have in their inventory, but considering recent events, I'm sure that they would find some way to help." After saying what he had to say, he walked away and left them to their own affairs.

Karl, still grumbling, took the meagre iron sword he had brought from home and placed it onto the cart to be taken away, taken his own bronze in it's place. He went and stood back, not particularly wanting to talk and trying his best to give off that vibe

Drake dropped off her giant Twohander. It was in pretty bad shape, but it still probably had a few swings left in her. She took a new sword, which she swung around a bit. ((not being too particularly careful to avoid hitting those around.)). "Seems fine, hopefully doesn't break to fast, I don't typically have swords too long."

Training Group

After everyone traded out their weapons, Jenkins tossed the bag into the wagon and got back up on his horse. He looked into the distance once more, this time seeing a figure on a horse riding towards them. “Aye, looks like that’s my cue to leave.” He gave the horse one quick whip and rode away before anyone could respond.

“It’s about damn time he showed up. Well, that’s my cue to leave then.” Virgil, still wielding his blade, simply walked back to the village leaving the trainees alone with their new instructor.

A man covered in silver armor made his way to the group and dismounted his white horse. Once he removed his helmet and chainmail, his shiny and well groomed light brown hair could be seen. The man also looked a bit younger than the previous instructor.

The armored man gave a proper posture making sure everyone could see him before speaking. “Good evening. My name is Sir Heizen. As you may have heard, I will be replacing the highly respected General Virgil as your new instructor. We will begin this 3 month training by starting with some…”

“Excuse me, but I forgot my sword at home. Would you mind if I just went home to get it for a minute?” asked Zachariah.

“That won’t be necessary, boy. You can just borrow mine.” Heizen pulled out a slighty worn Iron Sword and was ready to toss it

“Nevermind,” Zachariah quickly replied. “I think I’ll be fine without one. I’m better with a bow anyways.” He then slowly moved over to Kelsey. “Hey, know anything about that smoke coming from over there.”

“There’s always smoke like that coming from the town. Now please be quiet. I don’t want to get in trouble,” she whispered back.

“But…” Zach watched Kelsey back away from him. He look over to the town seeing the smoke rise. It wasn’t too visible and looked like nothing more than someone cooking some meat. Still, something didn’t feel right.

“Pay attention!” yelled Heizen. Zach quickly turned to the man. “Now, I want all of you to wield your weapons. Proper technique is important in battle.”

Yuri noticed the smoke coming from the town, though it probably was just some cooking flame. Soon after starring off in the sky he noticed that Heizen ordered him to ready his weapon. He grabbed one of the Knifes on his belt and held it to where the blade was pointing behind him and bent his knees a bit. He assumed that was how one would use a dagger though for all he knew he would have to have a blade in each hand.

Holland looked at the smoke rising from the village. Something seemed off. He had seen smoke from cooked meals before but this was different. It reminded him of raids the onishians did. He put the thought in the back of his mind as he was told to draw his weapon. He still couldn't help but fear that something bad was happening.

Komorrin noticed the smoke coming from the town in the distance. As far as he knew, there was always smoke coming from there, but now he couldn't stop thinking that something about it seemed off. He then heard Holland tell everyone to wield their weapons. He held his Thunder tome in his left hand and went into a battle pose. "This is probably better than one would think." The mage thought to himself. "If there truly is something going on, then we would already be prepared for it."

Chaust was broken out of his trance-like state as their new instructor told them to drop into their battle stances. He rose off the rock he was sitting on and took his sword in his right hand. He bent his knees and stretched his sword arm out to the side, sword pointing straight out. As he turned his head to keep vision on his hypothetical target, he couldn't help but notice the same smoke that everyone else had pointed out. He passed it off as nothing and concentrated on his form.

Nemir drew his blade and dropped into a ready stance. Not long after he did, however, he noticed the smoke coming from the town. "Nobody would be burning anything this early in the morning. Something isn't right." Then he sniffed the air. "Definitely not right....There's too much for it to be a cook fire." He had once read of an old country, long ago, whose soldiers would burn towns they had conquered. It was an effective war tactic, to keep the citizens disheartened, and he couldn't help but think of it when he saw how much smoke there was. Then again, it could just be bandits, or someone being careless, but why take the chance? Keeping in stance, he nudged Drake, who was the closest to him and nodded towards the town. "Keep the knight distracted. Something is wrong in there, and I plan on finding out what." Then he turned and waited for his chance to get away.

Holland could see the anticipation in everyone's eyes. He had noticed they had all been looking to the smoke. His suspicions had been confirmed with the worry of others and the orders of Nemir. "Aye, general. What kind of weapon is that that you wield? Is it special to you in anyway? And your armor? It looks shiny. Much too shiny to be a poor folks armor." Holland shot a glance at Nemir and nodded his head in the direction of the city. This would be the only chance he'd give Nemir to go.

"Smoke off in the distance, is it? It doesn't concern me and it shouldn't concern the group. It's not our problem right now, so we shouldn't act on it unless it does." Lucia ignored the smoke as she drew the new sword and stood in her position. Both legs at shoulder length and slightly bent. She was prepared to move quickly for any reason.
