Commander
Exlink Just as Yuri dashed out of the way, the Fire Tome exploded consuming the mage in the process. The fire then faded away allowing Yuri and Zach to rush over to their ally on the other side should they wish to do it. Before either could move, the bearded man approached them. “Those fire mages sure are crazy. Thanks for your help.” “Hey, these guys might be able to help,” spoke out the purple haired man. “Those hostages…” “We’ll handle the situation ourselves. I don’t want to drag any outsiders into this,” responded the bearded man. “Besides, it’s too dangerous for someone like this lot. There are fire mages everywhere back there.” Zach heard the conversation and made his way right over to Yuri whispering, “Something is off about this. The fire mages seem to be pretty much killing everyone right on the spot. Why would they need hostages? I smell a trap.” Dragonmasterkrim “Wow!” the blue haired responded seeing the flame show nearby. The girl cowered behind the man trying not to think of the man burning up in flames. When the show ended, he turned back to face Nemir. “I really don’t know. Heck, it could be anyone even one of our own. Maybe he’s watching over the hostages in the town square. That seems to be a big focus to those Onishians.” Suddenly he heard footsteps headed towards them. “Looks like we’ve got more company.” The Main Group The Halberdier felt a heavy shock in his arm. He was stunned for a moment, but he quickly snapped back to reality. This wasn’t the first time he was hit by a thunder spell. Still empty handed, he tried reaching toward his lance, but someone else had picked it up. “And to think this is the true might of Zagan’s men. Pathetic.” A man dressed in a black robe and black witch hat pointed the lance at the halberdier mocking him. The halberdier completely froze, not even realizing he was still fighting these trainees. Uninterested in the fight, the mage made his way over to the bridge where Virgil, Heizen, and Elliot were just finishing off the last few enemies. Virgil was the first to notice him. “What the bloody hell are you doing here? I thought you were under oath.” “You should thank your friend right there. Since he invaded our country, the pact is no longer valid. However, I am merely here for a simple errand, not violence. If you know what is best, you’ll let me through and I’ll let you and the others live.” The man spoke showing no emotions or concerns, even though he was talking to an enemy. Heizen saw this opportunity and readied his lance. “Don’t you dare, dumbass,” yelled Virgil. Heizen lowered his weapon, but glared at the mage as he crossed the bridge. Even after the mage had left, the halberdier stood there frozen and completely vulnerable. Even a simple sword slash would finish him off. Daj and Mumplefink “So you wanna fight, eh,” responded the thief to the knight. “Let’s see how you like it when I do this.” The thief pulled out the knife swinging it right at the priestess. The other thief pulled out two daggers aiming them at the knights head.
Raindrop Valkyrie
Drake took her move now. She aimed her massive sword right at the small of his back, the place where the armour was weakest. If it wasn't a Knight most other soldier's armour was heavier towards the front to better take on assaults they could see, and for charging into battle. She had struck here many times before, the easiest place to cut into a man in armour... soon she would see a swath of crimson... beautiful crimson. Developers Marcello Posted April 8, 2015 Developers Share Posted April 8, 2015 "You little-" Angelica growled, jerking backwards and trying to push Durin so he was in between her in the thieves. Unfortunately, she misjudged how heavy his armour was, so while she was left unscathed from the theif's knife, she had managed to break her wrist attempting to push Durin, and with no visible movement on his part. "I swear to God if I had a weapon!" She barked at the thieves while clutching her hand in pain; she hadn't yet gotten the hang of using her staff on herself so just had to endure the pain, and despite the huge pool of rage within her, she was still about as frail as your average priestess. She did, however, quickly direct this rage at the friendly knight, too. "What are you waiting for? Kill them!"
Aurorix
"Yea, there's definitely something going on here." Yuri whispered back to Zach. "Though, I myself can't just stand and do nothing while these men have hostages. I'm saying I going to rush in but I'm not just going to leave those hostages to die. Plus these men here seem to be going in after so the more people we have the better chance we have of succeeding." He then looked back at the two men, "About how many hostages are there and how many fire mages?" He asked the two men.
krim
"Hostages? Onishians don't take hostages. They only kill....." thought Nemir as he spun on his heel to confront the new arrivals. "Aye, I suppose we should, but I've never seen an Onishian take a hostage. That girl there. If they were out for hostages, wouldn't she have been taken and not left in the house to burn?" Commander
Exlink “We don’t know,” responded the purple haired man. “Seems like they just pop out of nowhere. We don’t even know how many hostages there are, as I only saw people being dragged off towards the square. Only an Onishian would really know what’s going on and any one we ask just commits suicide like you saw.” The man’s attention broke when he heard footsteps coming from behind. “It didn’t take them long to notice. Archer, we may need your help on this one.” The purple haired man and bearded man then charged heading to the path leading towards the entrance. “Understood,” responded Zach. He then turned to Yuri. “I will be back. Stay here just in case something goes down.” Zach then left following where the two men had gone. If Yuri turned his head, he could see his comrades being attacked by some more fiends along with a girl running past him. Dragonmasterkrim “It took me a minute to even realize she was in there, so I assume they just glazed over her or something. Seems like they’re only taking interest on the powerful and wealthy leaving everyone else to be killed,” spoke the man now pulling out his sword. “Incorrect.” Another fire mage, surrounded by four soldiers stood a few feet from them. “Our targets are much more specific than that. Too bad you filthy scum won’t live to figure out the rest.” He then turned to one of the Soldiers. “You there. Find reinforcements. It seems our companions have underestimated these rats so it is best we don’t do the same.” One of the soldiers then turned running away from the fight. Seeing as they were greatly outnumbered, the man knew things didn't look good. “I think this might be the end of us.” The man then turned to the girl. “Run. And don’t stop until you’re safe from danger.” The girl nodded her head quickly dashing right past Yuri. The Main Group Drake’s strike pierced right through his armor killing the man instantly. With the Halberdier down, not a single foe was left standing. Or so they thought. Elliot looked into the distance noticing some figures making their way towards the town. “Sir, more are headed this way. I’d say at least 60 from the looks of it.” The man looked rather worried seeing as they already went through one big battle already. “Heizen, I have a feeling your men must’ve lost the battle. Let’s us flee while we just have the chance,” spoke Virgil. “But what of the town,” yelled Heizen. “Are you sentencing these people to their deaths? And I know my army well. Abigail must have something up here sleeve to allow this many foes to slip through are defenses.” “Your tactician is dead and you’ll be joining her if you don’t make a run for it!” yelled Virgil. He then turned to the trainees. “I know your friends are in there fighting for the townsfolk, but this has gotten to even beyond the limits of two generals. If you value your lives, I suggest you flee and honor their sacrifices.” “How can you just say those things?” yelled Kelsey and Heizen in unison. Kelsey slowly backed away in fear of angering the man even more allowing Heizen to continue. “I’m a knight first, and a general second. I will protect these people even to my death.” The general pointed his lance to the incoming wave ready to fight.
SilverJakler
Holding his sword by his side, Chaust couldn't what he was hearing. He barely knew those people left in the village, but he wasn't going to just turn tail and let them die! "I'm with him on this one, there's no way I'm leaving 'till we get them out of there." he said, glancing at Virgil. Frankly, he didn't care what the brash general thought. He left people to die before, never would he make that same mistake again.
Raindrop Valkyrie
Drake reveled in the blood for awhile. The crunch of the spine cracking under her blade.... beauty to her ears. The sound of her enemy crumpling to the ground. The feeling of hot blood on any of her exposed skin, she hadn't felt it in awhile... it was nice. But, that wasn't important now. "We won't outrun them, they will catch us even if we try to flee. And you should know better than anyone else that the Oshnians don't leave anyone alive. So, we stay and we fight, or we flee like cowards and get skewered from behind. I personally would rather pour some blood then die without a chance to fight back." The fiery woman said. She was clearly not going to flee. The real reason she didn't want to leave was because Yuri was out there. She wasn't leaving him behind no matter what. But, she didn't want anyone to know that. Yuri-kun... was he safe? He had to be, he was taught by no other than the Drake's Knuckle, yours truly. And Drake... Drake was no slouch. She had lead forces enough times, and fought enough battles to know he should be okay. But she worried all the same. It was now in the lull of combat, these feelings resurfaced. Their reared their heads. But, she steeled herself. She couldn't let it affect her, she couldn't let them dull her wits and slow her blade. "We stand! For if we run, we die anyway! AT LEAST THIS WAY WE PARISH KNOWING WE DARED DEFY THEM!!! THEY WILL HEAR THE ROAR OF DRAGONS AND WARRIORS!!!" Drake yelled to the heavens, trying to rally the troops, and liven their spirits. Any of those she could spur into not running, was another body to help protect the innocents. She only hoped she should convince enough to stay to bolster their chances of winning this battle, even if it looked quite grim.
Aurorix
Yuri saw the girl run past him then turned his head to where she was running from. There were 3 soldiers and a fire mage attacking Nemir and his friend. Seeing as they needed help he rushed over to provide support. 'These damn soldiers are everywhere.' He thought to himself. Hoping they didn't know he was there he threw the knife in his hand at the Fire Mage from behind his comrades. Quickly after he drew another knife. "Hope I'm not to late for the party!" He said to the two people besides him.
krim
"Specific targets...Interesting...I may be having to look into this later, and if its anything like choosing the best ships to raid, I might just find something out..." Then, knowing he and the blue-haired fellow were greatly outnumbered, Nemir did the only thing he could think of and attacked. Bringing his sword up, he made a cut at the mages chest, and then tried to jab at the closest soldier. The little girl was running now. Hopefully, someone would help her, but for now he just had to hope he was a big enough distraction to keep anyone from following.
Komodojoe
Komorrin adjusted his glasses as he began to speak. "I'm sorry, but I'll have to agree with Drake on this one." The mage said in a serious tone. "If we so much as try to run, there's a good chance that most of us won't get very far, especially if they have any cavaliers in there somewhere. If we do have to fight, and that's almost certain at this point, our best bet would be to either face them at the bridge..." He paused momentarily to look back at the burning town. "... or to see if there would be a better place to hold our ground further inside." He looked back towards the group. "Either way, we should take a quick look around to see if there's anything that we could use to slow them down a bit. There's quite a few of them out there and I doubt there's anyone here who wants to fight them all at once." Commander
Exlink and Dragonmasterkrim The mage was about to land an attack when Nemir’s strike landed on the mage, but that was a big mistake. The three soldiers pointed their lances at Nemir ready to finish the man off. The one who Nemir lunged his lance into Nemir’s rib before falling to the ground and dying. The second soldier readied his lance towards the man, but he paused when he heard screaming from his fellow comrade. He looked seeing his face on fire and burnt. He snapped out of it too late seeing the blue haired man sword had reached his neck. All that remained was the soldier who was caught on fire. Main Group “At least running still gives us a chance like you said, mage,” yelled Virgil. “There’s a forest nearby which is good cover compared to this. Besides, it’s Zagan we’re fighting. They’d never trust their horses to that old fool.” “We can’t just abandon them though,” respond Heizen. “If we combine our strength, we should be able to defeat them, but I can’t do this without you.” “I’ll admit your fighting skills are on par with mine, but neither of us can take them on a two front battle,” responded Virgil. “What do you mean? This bridge stops them from attacking us all at once…” “That ain’t the point. There are enemies within the town. If they start attacking us from inside, we’re good as dead.” “I see. But we still have them. If they can take care of the enemies in the town, it shouldn’t be a problem, should it?” Heizen looked over to the group. “You’re not prepared to fight heavily armed Onishians with weapons like those, but I hear those inside of the town are poorly equipped. If you can take care of those, Virgil and I can take care of the rest.” The general glared at his fellow general. Only Heizen would act this foolishly. “…You’re lucky you’re the queen’s royal knight. If I let something happen to you, Zagan’s armies will be the least of my worries.” Virgil then looked over to Drake. “Looks like you’re going to have your way after all. That thief went running towards the church, but the path they went on is blocked off. You’ll have to find another way around. Good luck with that though. I hear the main path is raided with enemies.” “Sir, I know…um…another way. I can guide them…if they want me to.” Kelsey finally spoke words after being quiet for so long. “You, lead them.” Virgil began to laugh. “That’s hysterical.” Virgil then looked back at Drake. “Just leave her back here with me. All that girl is going to do is get you lost and killed. I’ve seen her in battle. She’ll just freeze there while you all just bleed to death. Ain’t that right, coward?” Kelsey just looked at Virgil unable to respond. “Virgil! Now’s not the time to be giving harsh accusations. The enemy is fastly approaching,” interrupted Heizen. He wasn't paying too much attention to Virgil's words. “Fine!” Virgil looked at the others. “I suggest you get a move on. The enemy ain’t going to just sit there and wait for you to get your asses in gear.” He readied his sword at he saw the Onishians marching forward. Kelsey looked over to Drake after everything was said. “He’s right. I should just stay back here. That’s why I’ve been stuck in training here for so long. I’ll just get in your way.” Mumplefink and Daj? The thieves were ready to strike when something quick rushed out of the shadows. With a blink of an eye, the thieves were on the ground pouring out blood. A man with long blonde hair, wearing typical blue swordmaster attire, had a big grin on his face. His blade, an armorslayer, pierced through the Knight’s body right into his heart. He pulled it out watching the man fall to the ground. “What a waste. I was hoping for at least one to put up a fight.” He looked over to the white haired girl. “You there. I suggest laying your weapon down and coming with me without a fuss.” He raised his sword and struck one of the females in the group watching her die in a few seconds. “If you resist, more of these worthless scum will fall victim to my blade.”
Developers Marcello Posted April 22, 2015 Developers Share Posted April 22, 2015 "Weapon? I have a staff and a broken wrist." Angelica practically growled, briefly looking over at the now dead woman. Not having been in town long, Angelica had barely known her, and didn't intend to lose much sleep over her death. "Anyway, I owe you at least as much as following you after you just saved my life from them. Lead the way." She chirped, her usual, calm demeanour finally returning. This man was obviously very dangerous, and while she was having just the sort of day where she really wanted to shout at everyone, she was at least smart enough to know to quell the fire with a man like this. She was reluctant to drop the staff, given it didn't even close to qualify as a real weapon, but didn't have any intension of others needlessly dying, and so she simply dropped the worn heal staff and continued to clutch her wrist, made much easier thanks to her now free hand, as she stepped out in front of the group and towards the swordmaster. krim
Nemir's vision flashed as he took a lance in the side, but when it cleared the enemies seemed to have dispersed except for one burned man. Whispering to Blue-Hair, he said "Keep that one occupied. I'll circle around port, er...left...and catch him from behind." Then, glancing down at his side he said "After we get rid of him, you wouldn't happen to have any healing herbs on you, would you?"
Komodojoe
"I disagree..." Komorrin protested to Kelsey. "...In fact, you may prove to be more helpful than you think. I could be mistaken, but I believe that you're the only one of us that actually knows their way around here." The mage said, feeling slightly annoyed for admitting that he didn't know something. "And to tell the truth, I would rather have you lead us through town rather than wander around aimlessly until we find something. All we need for you to do is to guide us. You don't have to fight if you don't want to." He did his best to make a comforting smile despite their current situation. "If you can take us wherever we need to go, then we can handle the rest." Aurorix
Yuri sighed after seeing Nemir being punctured in the chest. What he really didn't get is why he wanted the Blue haired guy, someone we just met, to distract the soilder and not his own team member who was right behind him. He decided to take it into his own hands because he wasn't just going to sit around and do nothing. So he took the knife in his hand and threw it at the solider that was on fire aiming for the chest. After that he quickly got one another one from his belt.
Commander
Exlink and Dragonmasterkrim Yuri’s knife managed to hit the soldier right in the chest which was followed by another fireball hitting him. “Aww, you’re no fun. And I totally had him too.” A girl, not much older than Yuri, dropped down from a nearby roof. She used a bit of magic to slow down her fall at the end. Her long black hair was a bit difficult to see under that mage hat which along with attire matched that of the previous fire mages. She looked over to the pirate looking man who was pierced by a blade. “You know, you might want to get that checked out. I heard bleeding was bad for you.” The blue haired man just stood their slapping himself in the face. There was no way this was real. Even if it was, no Onishian would be dumb enough to side with the Anneans especially in a situation like this. It had to be a trick. Though it didn’t make sense she’d just kill two of her allies if it was a trick. He had no idea what to do so he just looked at Yuri giving him a signal to do something about this. Mumplefink “I didn’t think it’d be this easy,” spoke the trublade. He was about to claim his prize when a powerful windstorm flew him back along with a few other people. “What the bloody…hell?” He tried holding back, but he couldn’t restrain coughing up blood. “You’re lucky I’m in a good mood and only used a weak Wind Spell. I could’ve easily killed you and just put someone else in your spot. Let this be a warning should you disobey me again.” A sage wearing black attire appeared before the trueblade. His voice was very monotone giving no signs of anger. “Forgive me, sir…Zagan’s reward…” The trueblade was now lost for words. “I will not allow my men to stoop to Zagan’s level. The man is a disgrace to the rest of us. Understood?” “Yes, sir.” The trueblade got back to his feet as he was warped out of the area. The Sage then stood there silent for a moment before striking all the civilians with lightning bolts. The man didn’t even need to pull out a tome to cast them. All of them were stricken dead instantly, except for the priestess with white hair. The sage then spoke out loud for a minute. “I despise wasting my talents on these worthless filth but if the king wants it so be it.” He then walked away not even acknowledging the girl that was there. Komodojoe (and slightly everyone else) “Hah! You don’t need a guide. Even a demi-human could figure it. Just pick one of the three paths and keep going straight and you’ll end up in the plaza. You don’t need a guide to go in a straight line. The middle path is the fastest which’ll only take you a couple minutes,” Virgil responded. “He’s…he’s right,” Kelsey admitted. “It was designed for travelers to get through town pretty easily. While most of the exits were sealed up, the town layout stayed the same. Also, thieves tend to hide in every corner so…I’d just be an easy target for them.” “Finally listening to reason, are we? Not that I care or anything,” spoke Virgil he then saw the foes starting to get in range. “You better get a move on then. There’s not much time left.”
Developers Marcello Posted May 1, 2015 Developers Share Posted May 1, 2015 "I..." Angelica started, but shook her head. She had just had her life saved, twice, in increasingly bizarre manners. She wasn't about to question it and cause a need for it to happen a third time. She simply picked up her staff and ran down the street, the opposite direction to that which the sage was going, briefly looking over her shoulder to ensure he wasn't following her, despite her utter disbelief at the matter."Bloody Onishian nutjobs..." She muttered under her breath.
Aurorix
Yuri noticed the blue-haired man's signal about this woman, but if she wanted to kill them she had a perfect chance on top of the building to kill them while they were distracted. He though he'd at least converse with her before attempting to kill a potential ally. "Sorry about ruining your fun," Yuri said to the mage, "I just wanted a bit of action myself and seeing how this guy right here is pierced in the chest. Anyways, that's besides the point, I'm Yuri Lenn and thanks for the help. Mind if I ask for your name?" he then turned back to the blue-haired man, "Speaking of names you haven't told us yours either."
krim
Nemir grimaced as the mage pointed out his wound. "Aye....bleeding is generally not good, although I've had worse wounds." Komodojoe
Wanting to protest once again, Komorrin turned to Virgil and almost began to speak. Instead, he stopped himself and let out a sigh a few seconds later. "Very well, then." He said. They've already spent enough time standing around as it is without arguing about who does what, so he decided to give up on it for now. The mage turned around to see the three paths before him. "If what Virgil said is true, then the middle path is the most direct way to the plaza." Komorrin thought to himself. "However, there's a good chance that they know this and set up an ambush." He looked over to the left and right paths. "Maybe if I went around, I could catch them off guard... assuming that they aren't prepared for that, of course. Either way, I should be able to cover more ground with the left and right paths." Komorrin began to walk toward the left path, but stopped abruptly and turned toward the rest of the group. He had nearly forgotten about them when he was lost in his thoughts. "I'll leave it up to the rest of you if you want to stay in a group or split up." He told them. "If you want to stay in a group, follow me. If not, that's your choice. We'll be able to cover more ground that way anyway." He then turned back towards the left path."Either way, we have to start moving. We've spent enough time around here as it is." That being said, he resumed his march down the left path, unsure of the choice that his allies will make and if his own choice was the right one.
