Guzam
Holland seeing his allies taking on the mercenaries and keeping the others at bay went in for the kill. He charged the soldier as quickly as possible and swung his axe right at the soldiers side, hoping to penetrate his armor. If he could do that and hit that same spot again there was no doubt in his mind that he would have a nice easy kill with no trouble brought to him and his unit. Commander
Exlink The soldier wielding an Iron Lance saw the incoming dagger and was able to step out of the way in time. He readied his lance towards the thief, unaware of the incoming fighter who beheaded him with one quick swing. The bearded man turned to the thief. "We took care of that one, didn't we?" One of the Mercenaries saw this and darted towards him. When his sword was close enough to lunge through threw his heart, he pulled his sword back ready to attack. Dragonmasterkrim The fighter saw through this attack and was able to escape his death, only feeling the tip slash through his stomach. The pain was there, but stood firm on his two feet. Seeing an opening, he raised his axe up and swung it towards this one eyed mercenary. Zach and the Others The purple haired man engaged one of the mercenary as the two crossed weapons one not being able to strike the other. He waited for his partner to finish him off, but from the corner of his eye, he noticed the man rushing to one of the nearby houses. He rolled his eyes and continued lunging his lance forward in hopes of taking the man down. "I don't respect cowards. You'll be the first to die." The Fire Mage focused his attack on the fleeing man. When he was about to attack, an arrow pierced through his book causing a flame to gush out and hit his face. He quickly covered his face with his hand and threw the fire into a nearby building. It didn't do too much as the building was already on fire. Whew, that was lucky. Zach thought to himself as he readied another arrow. He didn't know what would happen if he attacked the book, but he wasn't going to let anyone know that. He had a reputation to uphold...for the ladies at least. Aurorix
"You'll pay for that you bastard!" Yuri said getting ready to strike the mercenary with his knife, running towards the mercenary's left side. Though at the last second he side stepped to his right, beginning striking him with a horizontal slash. He was hoping that the merc was anticipating the attack to be struck on his left side to catch him a little off guard.
Raindrop Valkyrie
Main Group Drake's sword crunched into the Mercenary's shoulder. A sickening sound it was, as it partially broke under Drake's sword. He grimaced in pain, and tried to step back away from the Tall Woman looming over him. Chaust didn't have quite as much luck, the other Mercenary looked back and saw the blow coming. It nicked his stomach, a small scarlet plume flying from his gut. But it was only a scratch. It was no deadly wound. He skirted back a step using the superior length on his great sword to out distance Chaust's sword. He swung mightily trying to get in a blow. The Solider tried to dodge out of the way of Holland's blow, but the big man was too fast for him, bloodying his side. But, the enemy Fighter now saw the opportunity to engage. He bull-rushed Holland, getting between the burly man and the solider. He swung with fervor at Holland's axe arm. The Archer fired an arrow at Drake, trying to cover for the Mercenary she had bloodied. His shot went wide however. Not having a lot of experince, he wasn't used to battle and the pressure got to him. He calmed his nerves quietly "Now isn't the time to get nervous, I got to help my allies. I can't be the useless no good I always have been." he said quietly under his breathe. A Halbardier watched from afar. He could be seen, but for now made no moves. He made no effort to join the men fighting and certainly didn't seem overly concerned with what was going on. He just watched in the distance, an overwhelming presence. Guzam
"Damn!" Holland shouted as he was stricken on his arm. He nearly dropped his axe from the pain. He had forgotten what it felt like to be hit so hard. "You're gonna pay for that you bastard!" Holland immediately moved his axe to his other hand and was about to charge the enemy fighter when he noticed a halberdier in the distance. He made no moves it seemed and just watched. Holland turned his attention back to the fight and realized he wouldn't be able to do this without his good arm. "Kelsey, I need your help!" Holland shouted! He still held his ground, waiting for the right movement to move to Kelsey. "Just get ready."
krim
Being from a pirate crew, Nemir was familiar with axe users. He knew that this one would probably try to catch him with an overhand blow. With this in mind, he quickly hopped backwards, and instead of cutting, stabbed where he had wounded the man before.
Komodojoe
Komorrin, who was still trying to get close enough to the archer to attack, witnessed the archer make an attempt to shoot an arrow at Drake... only to see that the arrow got nowhere near her. "Wow... that was a terrible shot." He thought to himself. He then saw the halberdier in the distance. For some reason, he didn't seem to take much interest in the battle and just watched. Komorrin turned his attention back to the archer, who had seemed a bit more calm than he was a second ago. If the archer was more calm, then that would probably mean that he would have an easier time concentrating, therefore making a better shot. While Komorrin wasn't entirely sure if the archer's shot would be better or worse this time, he wasn't about to find out. As soon as the was in range, Komorrin shot a ball of lightning at the archer, hoping that he would be able to settle this quickly enough to help his allies before anything else happened to them. Commander
Dragonmasterkrim and Exlink The first mercenary wasn't expecting the thrust of Nemir's sword as he felt the weapon jab into his heart before the world faded to black. The Mercenary fell to the ground dead and lifeless. To the right of him, the purple haired soldier was struggling against his lance wielding opponent. Zach noticed this and released and arrow toward the enemy soldier hitting him right in the neck. The purple haired man gave a nod to thank the archer. While everyone was worked up in the chaos, the fire mage pulled out a small green plant and placed it on his face. While the burning sensation didn't feel too good, he was happy enough to regain his vision. He focused his attention back to the cowardly man who now was ramming himself against a door. The Fire Mage just gave a grin while he readied another fire spell, this time making sure to keep an eye on the archer. Meanwhile, the living mercenary noticed the incoming thief. Unlike the others, he had many years of experience fighting which he used to his advantage. He turned to the thief and managed to block the thief's attack. He already knew the bearded man wasn't going to stand idly and pushed back from the Yuri to block the incoming axe swing. "'ey, don't worry about me, I can handle this," lied the bearded man. He knew he was at the disadvantage, but there wasn't much he could do. "Take care of that mage for me 'cause I don't like my friends well done." He then shoved the mercenary back a bit ready to strike him again.
SilverJakler
Chaust, although he hit his mark, it wasn't quite what he was hoping for. As the mercenary readied his next attack, Chaust came up with his plan. The mercenary brought his sword down hard in a downward arc, but where he was stronger than Chaust, the young myrmidon was quicker. He rolled to the left and regained his footing from the momentum. Once he was back on his feet, a shine appeared in his eyes as he sprung forward and thrust his blade in the mercenary's side, aiming for a space in his armor. krim
As the fighter fell, Nemir had the sudden urge to do what he had countless times before. "No...not right now. I can loot him later...I need to help out..." he thought before quickly turning around and charging the man that was stumbling from his allies push. His ally was standing on the other side of the mercenary, so he stabbed at the mans shoulder and hoped it would throw him off guard enough that the finishing blow could be landed. Aurorix
Yuri looked back at the mercenary who pushed him out of the way, "I own you one." He said to him quickly before heading towards the fire mage. He noticed he had some herb on his head which looked like to be used to treat a cut on his head. 'Maybe he has some more on him. A dead man wouldn't have use for medicine.' Yuri thought to him self as he ran at the mage from the side aiming to slash his neck and trying to see if he has any of that herb left for him to borrow. Commander
Exlink and Dragonmasterkrim The Mercenary was about to kill the bearded man when he saw a man with an eye patch headed his way. He blocked the attack with the sword of his own. Big mistake. The last thing he would ever see is an axe swinging right at him. The bearded man chuckled seeing the beheaded man fall to the ground. “I think I might’ve overdone it a bit.” Meanwhile, the fire mage noticed the incoming thief who seemed deeply interested in his empty bag. “Sorry boy, I’m fresh out of potions, but I have plenty of fire to spare.” He readied the fireball when he saw an arrow headed his way which he managed to dodge this time. “Ha! And you consider yourself an archer. With an aim like that, you may as pick up a sword instead.” “I don’t miss,” Zach simply responded. Before either of them could react, the purple haired man lunged his lance right into the mage’s attacking hand. The pain made the mage release his attack causing it vanish into thin air, but he did manage to distance himself by throwing the book right at him though. The mage, now unarmed, then turned back and saw Yuri just a foot away from him. He got down to his knees and begged, “Please spare my life. This is all Crumwell’s doing. He’s ordered us to kill these people otherwise he’ll burn us ourselves. I’ll do anything. Anything.” While the battle was going on, the swordsman managed to pull a little girl from the building. Tears could be seen coming from her eyes, but other than that she seemed to be fine. The man set her down and began to speak, but he was still too far away for anyone to hear. Main Group The group put forth a great effort and managed to kill all of the enemies completely unharmed. This impressed the Halberdier watching from afar as he decided to break from the main group confronting these new foes. “That was quite a show you put on there,” he responded. “I have fought many battles, but never have I see a man with such strength.” He pointed to Virgil who was clearly enemy after enemy with little effort. “We Onishians may lose this battle, but even a single death will only draw us closer to victory. Normally I don’t fight weaklings as yourself, but given my options, I’ll take my chances. I promise a swift and fitting end to you all.” He then readied his lance prepared to attack. ((Sorry about skipping the fight there. I thought it might be easier on all of us to get to the real challenge. If anyone really wanted to finish that fight, just say so in the OOC otherwise, Epic Mini Boss is Go!!!!))
Aurorix
Yuri took his knife and pointed the tip to the man's head close enough to be able to quickly strike him if he decided to flee. "Tell me how this Crumwell looks like and his location and I might let you live. Though you better make it quick, or this dagger is going straight for your head." Yuri said trying to scare the info out of him. He wanted to check on the little girl though he couldn't leave the wizard unattended.
krim
Nemir watched as Beard-Guy beheaded the mercenary and nodded in thanks. "Whose left?" he asked, and looking around discovered a swordsman with a little girl. He appeared to be trying to communicate. "I'll keep the guy talking. Try to get behind him without getting spotted." he whispered to Beard-Guy, pointing at his enemy. Then -keeping his blade at the ready- he moved towards the man and said "You're going to have to speak a bit louder if you want to be heard, matey. What are you doing with that child?" Komodojoe
Knowing that his target wasn't about to come back from the direct hit that he had taken, Komorrin immediately turned his attention toward the Halberdier as he began to speak. The Halberdier seemed to be stronger than he did at first glance. Sensing that this wasn't going to be an easy fight, Komorrin decided to put a little more distance between him and the enemy before preparing an attack. Guzam
Holland gazed at the Halberdier from his position. "Heh. You think you can take all of us? Bring it then, ya little scamp! I'll teach you not to mess with us! Haaaaaaa!" Holland charged towards the Halberdier hoping to land a swift blow to his side. As he ran he noticed Komorrin preparing to attack. Holland shouted to him, "Hey get ready! I'm about to give you an opening so pay attention!" Holland had finally gotten close to the Halberdier and swung for his side hoping to breach his armor. SilverJakler
Chaust, still somewhat fresh from his fight with those mercenaries, readied his sword, but stayed a small distance away from Holland as he charged towards the Halberdier. He was hoping to analyze the enemy and see if he could fight an opening whilst he was dealing with Holland, and should he find one, he'd use his superior speed to close the gap for a strike. However, if Holland were in danger, he'd go on the defensive and try to deflect the blow for him. For now, he would wait at the ready for his opportunity to present itself. Commander
Exlink Seeing no other option, the mage quickly spoke up to try and spare his life. “Our boss kind of looks like one of us, but much older. You’ll be able to pick him out pretty quickly. As for his location, shouldn’t it be obvious at this point. Our only job was to…” “Run!” yelled Zach. He noticed the fire tome began to glow. He himself then began to sprint away from the scene with the axe and lance wielders following right behind. Dragonmasterkrim “Lower your sword. I am not an enemy.” ordered the Mercenary. He felt a tugging motion on his pants as the girl cowered behind him at the fear of the sword. “As for the girl, she’s one of the lucky ones who escaped.” The man then pointed down the road ahead of them. “Just moments ago there was a slaughter not far from where we stand. My comrades and I tried our best to save them, but we were too late.” Main Group The Halberdier saw the incoming axe attack and managed to knock the axe back with ease, despite the weakness. What he didn’t see was the incoming sword coming from the side. Quickly he swung his lance back to the Mercenary causing both the sword and lance to plunge into the ground. The quick movement caused the Halberdier to briefly lose his balance. Daj and Mumpelfink On the eastern side of town, a small group, led by a heavy armored man could be seen making their way to the town entrance. Among the crowd was a white haired priest, whose clothing made her stick out of the crowd. A couple thieves (two) noticed this and stepped in front of the group causing them to halt. “Seems like you folks are in quite a hurry. I’m feeling a bit generous today so I’ll tell you what: that staff that girl has will fetch a few pieces of gold in the market…especially how the war is going. Hand it over and nobody gets hurt.” The thief held out his hand with the other ready to pull out his knife. He felt pretty confident as only one person in the group even carried a weapon. Developers Marcello Posted March 31, 2015 Developers Share Posted March 31, 2015 "Oh joy, JUST what I need right now." Angelica grumbled quietly to herself, holding her staff out in front of her, she quickly smiled at the thieves before speaking audibly. "But of course, you poor fellows obviously need it much more than I do." All the while, her eyes were scanning the two as fast as they could, trying to gauge whether hitting one of them with the staff would work out or not, or whether the armoured man would be able to defeat them. SilverJakler
"NOW!" Chaust though to himself. This was the opportunity he'd been looking for! Attempting to take advantage of his foe's unarmed, unbalanced state, Chaust dashed forward as quick as he could toward the enemy and made a horizontal slash towards his left leg, hoping to either cut clean through the limb or at least catch a hamstring. Raindrop Valkyrie
Drake watched as the beginning of the battle unfolded. A few misses so far but the Halberdier barely struck back. That man was suicidal taking on a group this large himself. There was no way he could keep his eye on every one of her unit. It was a very rash decision on his part, but he must have choose what he deemed the better option. Death, or a painful death... pretty poor choice to have to make, but Drake would make him feel like this was the worse option... for damn sure. He was already busy tangling with Holland and Chaust. A flailing of blades. Soon their mage would strike adding Lightning into the mix. "I might as well BRING THE THUNDER!!!" Drake thought to herself. She almost spewed it out her mouth, but she managed to keep the thought inside and her voice down. She skirted around to the back of the Halbardier, a place where his armour would be weaker. She would strike once she got the chance, but she had to get in position first.
Aurorix
Yuri heard Zach's warning and noticed the book glowing. Not wanting to find out what'll happen he ran to where Zach and he others ran off to to avoid what seemed like a ready-to-explode book. He didn't care for the mage anymore, if he could survive the blast he'd probably be too weak to get up. What was important right now was finding their boss and ending his life quickly. Once he caught up to Zach and the gang he looked around for anyone around them just in case they ran into someone.
Komodojoe
A small grin appeared on Komorrin's face as the Halberdier lost his balance. "That must be the opening that Holland was talking about." The mage thought to himself. He was about to attack when he noticed that Chaust was going for the Halberdier's left leg. Komorrin shouldn't be able to accidentally hit either Chaust or Holland unless they get in the way of his attack entirely. "Still, I'll have to be careful if I don't want to hit my teammates..." Rather than hit the Halberdier dead center as he originally planned, Komorrin aimed for the enemy's right shoulder and casted his Thunder spell, hoping that he wouldn't hit his allies in the process. daj327
The large armored man stepped forward towards the thieves, making sure to put plenty of room in between them, and the group of civilians. "I see... It takes quite the man to try to steal from a woman, especially one who is unarmed." Durin takes a pause, "I'm sure your mothers must be very proud of you, they must have taught you amazing values." Durin said, trying to goad the thieves into attacking first. "Now, if you don't mind, we will be on our way." During said, while quickly putting one hand on his lance, should they decide to attack.
