I don't even write characters in a way that Romance would probably be really all that great when involving my characters. ((probably as a mechanism that people won't try and do it on purpose as they are usually pretty self-sufficient characters or not really looking for it for whatever reason. This one indeed beat Ymora to the punch, with Ymora taking about 6 days for the first mention to appear (started on Sept, 19, first mention I found was Sept 26, six days later), while this one... only took five (Started on Feb 11, first mention... today, Feb 16.) But I hate that super binary, or just like... creepy just forcing it. It feels so fake and untrue that it just sits so horribly with me. Basically, I make it a pain in the ass to ship my characters so that people can only do it if they really want it to happen/are willing to have it realistically evolve rather than well... just pop into existence. It is once again my TRPG philosophy. You got to work for things you want have happen in a narrative, not just have them happen. If something just appears in a narrative it has no context from the play and it feels very out of place and can really subtract from games imo. ((referring to Dream on Another Shore, that short in Graterras I did...that I should really write a new chapter for huh?)) Anyway, It is actually, kinda satisfying in a way... and not as hard as I thought. While it is certainly not the focus of that story. Basically, Romance as any plot device adds a lot when carefully and lovingly crafted. But, rushed or thrown in it really detracts from a work. I'm not against a romance, but I don't want to see anything developed or forced right away. Unless it's well done, I might just glance over it though and not say anything. At twelve you're allowed to do adult things like drink so long as your mother okays it, at 19 you're allowed to do whatever the hell you like. And of course a 19 can't do, certain things, with a 12-18 Sowwy. Also it's more or less based on school years, so if you turn 19 partway through your 18th year you're still good As for ships. SharpxRiley is probably gonna be a thing, which is really, really handy for plot purposes (And hasn't started yet, but will kick into gear when things go nuts) And LexixMary is happening because reasons. Those mostly being that I'm have heavy on the monogamy and kinda wanted her accounted for by Clara's character. That one will probably be slow and may not materialize fully until near the end of the RP. Also Natalie and her girlfriend are a thing. Her girlfriend will appear later. Long story short, she's outside Nat's standard social circle (I guess that one could be considered plot relevant as well? Mostly it's for character development tho) Beyond that, none of mine have shown any signs of developing a relationship and I doubt they will any time soon since there's no reason for them to. Katherine is too old for anyone except maybe Emberly. And Lilith is too afraid of opening up...
