really does that mean someone is going to have episode 3 happen to them then. also i figured that this would be like that since its the only Magical Girl show you seen.

Please don't make me relive that anime.

I have just got off of lurking on the Reborn forums and this looks like a pretty fun RP. Is it too late to try and join in? (It probably is but it doesn't hurt to ask.)

I think this one is still open considering it's rather fresh, but it's all up to KosherKitt. If you ever have any RP questions Huk and Murdoc are the ones to go to.

I shall wait for KosherKitten's judgement, then.

It's been a while since I've actually done any RPing. Last RP I was in kinda fell apart midway so I do need to refresh myself.

Sev, it is the absolute best anime ever, why would you not want to relive it? *Is on her third time through it in the past two weeks*

Personally PMMM wasn't as ground breaking for me as I was expecting it to be. I can appreciate it from a critical standpoint what with the challenges it puts to the genre it's in and the quality of the show in general, I can't really asy I enjoyed it all that much. I certainly didn't feel much in the scenes where you obviously were meant to be bawling.

Note: only seen the anime series

It's still open. And is open until partners are made official

Great! I'll have my character profile done by tonight then.

Quick question about the Pulse Modifier (for clarification purposes), though. So, the default is some sort of attack reminiscent of Nanoha's Divine Buster or Fate's Thunder Smasher while the 'charged' shot is more reminiscent of the radial attack Mikoto used in Railgun S Episode 14, right? Moreover, can the charged shot be manipulated to be both a 2-D or a 3-D attack by the user?

Honestly, I didn't understand a word of that. Pulse is loosely based on Spark from Kirby Super Star. Normally you shoot little pulses of energy, but if you charge up your can make it burst out around you (among other things)

In this case, normally you shoot little circular pulses reminiscent of a Hyper Voice. And the charged one is always 360 degrees

Sorry about that. I was studying for a math test when I wrote that so my brain was kinda jumbled up when I wrote that post.

That being said, that clears things up for me. Thanks. I should have a character profile soon.

Woot. I took longer than I expected.
Forum Name: Hiss13
Character Name: Sion Sanctis
Age: 15--August 13th, 1024
Personality: She's a fairly snarky girl who uses that facade to mask an inferiority complex she harbors. As a result, she does tend to push people away from her leaving her quite lonely and awkward. As a result of her inferiority complex, she has developed strong observational skills. Despite that, she is kind-hearted to the point where her words betray her actions many times. She is the type who would rather diffuse any type of situation without violence although she can snap rather easily if a situation seems like it will go out of her control to her.
Appearance: She stands at 5'6" and has a fairly slender figure concealed under a variety of black and white lolita dresses. She sports long black hair that reaches to above her waist and blue eyes.
Line of Belief: Nonpracticing Nayrist
Modifier: Pulse

So, I counted the number of PC and NPC students and it summed up to 14. If my character gets approved, what would happen in terms of partnering for that last extraneous student since there would be an odd number of student characters?

I'll just make another NPC to pair with them, it's no big deal

As for your sheet, I have at least one thing I need to point out

She is the type who would rather diffuse any type of situation without violence although she can snap rather easily if a situation seems like it will go out of her control to her.

This is worded a bit awkwardly and can mean two things:
1. It could mean that she doesn't like arguments, but happens to have a hair trigger temper anyways. This is a great character flaw and opens up room for her to be upset with herself for always seeming to make things worse
2. It could also mean that most of the time she doesn't get upset but under certain circumstances she does ("if a situation seems like it will go out of control to her"). This is a very Mary Sue trait and opens up all kinds of holes in the character and excuses for the RPer. Plus, there's not actually real people like this. I've had to deal with many characters like these, and they always end up blowing up constantly but then the author keeps telling everyone they're actually really nice and hate fighting

Also, I say arguing and not violence because people have about the same reactions for both and there's not going to be nearly as much punching as there is yelling

So basically, I just want to make sure she's always going to get caught up in the argument, even if she hates arguing

I also have a suggestion:
One way you could build on the first way of reading it is to have her always say she hates arguing, possibly even acting all high and mighty when she sees others arguing and acting like she'd never be part of that, but then going and blowing up at a moment's notice

Outside that... She doesn't really look much like a Nonpracticing Nayrist personality-wise. Obviously I can't judge her completely from just the sheet, but if you have an inferiority complex you're not likely to go into the religious field where next to everyone has a superiority complex and will try to use/torment you. At least not without very strongly believing in that Line, which being Nonpracticing she wouldn't

I have three recommendations:

1. She fits perfectly into the profile for a Laylite. She's a loner, has an explosive temper, pushes people away, and is easily exploitable. She's exactly the sort of girl they'd want to have in their ranks

2. She also seems like the type who would want to desperately believe in something. She struggles to like herself, and can't seem to keep her temper under control. So while she may not believe in the goddesses themselves, but being a Nonpracticing Kallistle could help her try to fill in the gaps by saying she should love and believe in herself

3. Or you could always just make her a Practicing anything, which would basically mean she just actually believed strongly in the goddess she had chosen to follow so it wouldn't matter if she didn't quite fit that Line

Of course you can always just leave her as is, but do realize she's going to have her self-esteem stomped on repeatedly by most of the other Nayrists

Whew, okay, sorry if that seems a little nitpicky, especially since I didn't really do this for anyone else. Neither requires any actual changes. The first I just need to make sure which way you're building your character. And the second is mostly just a warning/suggestion

Personally, I love when people give me criticism/feedback on stuff like that. Usually when it comes to personalities I give a bit of an example of how they react when it gets confusing.

Now that I think about it, I have a very shallow vocabulary. If you get colorful enough with your words, I probably won't understand what you're saying (thank god for google).

Hopefully, you understand what I am saying lol. I sometimes get a bit abstract and stuff XD.

(shrugs) I know a lot of words, but I rarely use them so sometimes I forget their definitions. I usually can figure it out what most people are saying.

Quick thing to add to Miss Kosher's criticism:

As a result of her inferiority complex, she has developed strong observational skills.

I find this bit a bit iffy. Why would having strong insecurities about self-worth lead to the development of strong observational skills? You may want to revisit/explain this.

Also, I'll get Rein's reply to Lilith up in a bit, need to do something first.

Also, I'm back btw. Tadaima.

Welcome back, Acqui! ^^// Can't wait to see that reply ^w^

You do have a good point there, I guess I read that funny. I read observational skills as "highly critical," which is something people with inferiority complexes tend to end up being, though which causes which is a bit of a psychological debate...

Yeah. I was aiming for the first. I guess my wording kinda threw it off.

I'll take your suggestion. It actually goes really well with the whole observational skills portion of her character.

Outside that... She doesn't really look much like a Nonpracticing Nayrist personality-wise. Obviously I can't judge her completely from just the sheet, but if you have an inferiority complex you're not likely to go into the religious field where next to everyone has a superiority complex and will try to use/torment you. Rereading each of the lines now, I am actually surprised how well she fits into the Laylite line. I'm actually gonna change that then.
Don't worry about seeming like you're nitpicking. I appreciate the criticism. ^_^

Quick thing to add to Miss Kosher's criticism:

I find this bit a bit iffy. Why would having strong insecurities about self-worth lead to the development of strong observational skills? You may want to revisit/explain this.

Here's the thing. I'm gonna defend myself on that point a bit. I, at a certain point in my life, suffered from an inferiority complex. As a result, I was both highly critical but at the same time, I paid a lot of attention to the people around me. Perhaps the observational skills were originally a part of me before then but I know that during that phase in my life that I used them a hell of a lot more in my daily life than I do nowadays. So, I guess that is also an issue with wording. Observational skills being caused by the inferiority complex was probably not the right thing to say. That being said, I did want observational skills and overuse of them to be a part of Sion's character.

------------

So, here's my revised profile.

------------

Forum Name: Hiss13

Character Name: Sion Sanctis

Age: 15--August 13th, 1024

Personality: She's a fairly snarky girl who uses that facade to mask an inferiority complex she harbors. As a result, she does tend to push people away from her leaving her quite lonely and awkward. As a result of her inferiority complex, she has developed a tendency to be heavily critical and overuse her observational skills. Despite that, she is kind-hearted to the point where her words betray her actions many times. She is the type who dislikes arguments. However, her temper is very easily triggered leading to her inadvertently pushing people further away.

Appearance: She stands at 5'6" and has a fairly slender figure concealed under a variety of black and white lolita dresses. She sports long black hair that reaches to above her waist and blue eyes.

Line of Belief: Laylite

Modifier: Pulse

Alrighty. I'm sure I could pick at it more, but I'm not focusing very hard on sheets this RP. Accepted! (I'll add it later, I'm being lazy ATM >_<)

Laylites are basically the Cult of Insecure and/or Ambitious Girls :P
