"Ahhhh I lost her." Lyre said as she looked around the bunch of people in the dining hall for the black haired girl she was fallowing. "That's sad I didn't even figure out her name or if she liked cake. Hmm..." she put her figure on her cheek and closed her eyes. "I know i will ask her that next time and avoid anything else. Hehe, but for now cake time." She said happily as she walked to the lines for food.

After what felt like a eternity for her, Lyre got out of the line looking like a kicked puppy. "Why wouldn't they have cake there's always cake. I guess its time for secret chocolate truffle stash then." She thought as she looked for a place to sit. "I don't know where to sit mmmmmm....Over there ...no they look busy talking with each other. How about there...no they look grumpy"she thought as she back and forth almost going one way but then turning the other way.

Vivienne turned to Lyre and smiled. "Hey there. Are you excited for lunchtime?"

Arturia made her way toward the buffet as quickly as possible, pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal. She loaded her tray up with pretty much raw calories; mashed potatoes loaded up with butter, some chicken, a slice of pizza, and a glass of soda, flavor combinations be damned. She squinted a bit as she looked for a seat. I swear, if I wasn't wearing dark clothing I would vanish into the background. White is a great color, but this is a tad excessive. After spotting an empty table and getting halfway there, she realized she had forgotten to grab silverware. Speeding up a bit, she deposited her tray at her chosen seat and quickly ran back to the line to grab a spoon and a fork.

Arya was silent as she got herself a tray and scanned over the options. Nothing really stood out to her, on top of that she honestly wasn't to hungry to begin with... so she just took a few pieces of a few things that smelled good enough and found herself a seat at a table against a far wall, vacant, to her surprise.

"And on day one, there was war..." She said idley, barely touching her food at all as she decided to play... a bit of a game. It was simply really, she'd look around the room, at every table, and she'd try to guess from the girls body language and the tone she got from the group... which groups would probably be genuine, and which ones were the type she'd seen often in the past- the bitchy girls who liked to torment everyone and everyone's mother, held together into a coherent group, usually a leader and two or more lackeys, only by their mutual self-esteem issues which they attempted to remedy by taking out their frustrations on others; it never failed, that was simply how the politics of school worked, like long ago some ancient laws had been drafted that proclaimed throughout all the land "And yea, for at that table over there, yonder, yes, lookith where I am pointing- there shalt congregate the most hateful group of females to grace the grounds of this fine institution this year, and yea, it shall be good... if thou stayith the hell out of their merry way"

This time it was strange though- she was usually pretty good at it; five minutes was her longest time ever, and yet here she was, almost about to reach that and then some. She saw a few genuine ones occasionally, here and there, sure, but... Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, She thought, redoubling the search effort with her eyes... They've got to be here somewhere...

Rein stared down the buffet, slightly unsatisfied. There was an inadequate amount of spicy food. Resigning herself to a lackluster meal, she silently scooped a veritable mound of mashed potatoes onto her tray. She didn't particularly mind meat, but the toughness of steak was slightly annoying, so she opted to forgo that. As far as beverages went, she saw nothing but the usual soft drinks, along with some kind of pinkish juice. Her heart sank a little at noting that coffee was not available. She took a glass of plain water and stood aside from the queues, looking around the hall for the girl who had passed her the note.

The girl whose name had been the first at roll call - Lexi - was seated at a table with two other girls, Riley and Mary, if Rein's memory served correct. While she was watching, a girl, younger than Rein, approached the table and took a seat - Sharp, that was her name. Rein thought it a strange name, though she herself was in no position to comment. The four girls engaged in conversation, a rather lively one. She moved on to the next group.

She noted one girl - Arturia - sitting at a table alone, then was slightly amused at her sudden dash back towards the food line. Perhaps she had decided on eating a bit more?

Finally she saw the girl - Natalie - chatting with a large group across a table. They seemed to be engaged in some sort of serious discussion, which Rein preferred not to interrupt. As such, she simply stood there and stared right at the back of Natalie's head, waiting to be noticed.

Lyre blinked as the green haired girl started talking to her snapping her back to reality. "Not really they don't have cake, and that's no fun cake is awesome, and yummy."She said puffing her cheeks a bit. Looking back to the girl Lyre started to talk again." Sooooo who are you? I'm Lyre Cross." she said with her blank smile again.

After Nina got in line to get her food, she started to wander around aimlessly searching for table to table. She noticed a small group of people talking with one of them complimenting another's eyes . Those people look rather nice. The black her girl shook her head for a brief second. Focus, Nina, focus. You can talk later, but right now you have to find a partner. Just then, she noticed a silver-haired girl walking up, but empty handed. Perfect.

She didn't waste a minute as she quickly rushed to meet up with this girl. "Hi there. I know this might seem a bit weird, but you look a bit lonely. Mind if I tag along with you for a bit."

Arturia blinked in momentary startlement. This occurred rather than her first impulse, which was to reply with a blunt "why?" After that, she responded with "Sure, I guess. I'm not really lonely but I don't mind company." She started to walk back to her table, but caught herself just in time, remembering to pluck out the silverware she had come over to grab. "Here, I sat over there." She started toward her seat again, looking over her shoulder to check if the girl was following.

Nina followed close behind while this "lonely" girl showed where she was sitting. "I'm sorry about that. This whole partner thing had me worked up." She took a quick moment to sit her plate on the table. "I just need a breather and just talk to somebody normally. Knowing my luck, you probably already found a partner." Nina then took a seat while enjoying some of her mashed potatoes hoping to hear the sounds of a miracle.

"It's alright. That was more than slightly unusual." She had already shoveled a mouthful of food into her mouth when the other girl indirectly asked if she had a partner. Her mouth twisted a bit as she debated internally. "I did plan on partnering up with this one girl, Emberly, but to be totally honest there's no reason behind it. Maybe we could wait for her to get over here and then discuss it?" She really didn't feel like stepping on this girl's feelings, but she didn't want to offend Emberly either... ugh. Things were already getting difficult.

"Don't worry about it. After all, first come, first served." Nina seemed rather calm in her response. Her thoughts not so much. What are you doing, Nina? This is your only shot at finding a partner and you just blew it. You're gonna be stuck alone. She took a deep breath before continuing. "By the way, I'm Nina. And you are?"

"I'm Arturia. Please don't get upset if I don't remember your name, it takes me a while to connect names with faces." She hated that she had to give that warning, but it generally reduced awkwardness down the road. Deciding to move the subject away from partnership for thr moment, she brought up the events from the morning. "It's pretty explosive here, huh? People get worked up so fast, and that's coming from me."

"What are you talking about?" Nina was a bit puzzled by this girl's words. Then again, things tended to slip her mind quite a bit anyways, but she never could figure out why. "Err...I still don't know what the big fuss is all about. Can't really be that bad, can it?"

"You know what? I'm not really sure. All I know is that people are already screaming insults at each other and throwing kicks and we haven't even finished lunch yet." She downed a mouthful of food before continuing, gesturing with the fork as she spoke. "At this rate, in three days it'll be all out war here. I would say it wasn't that bad, because by all rights it shouldn't be, but people are nuts."

Karrin had made her own way to the buffet with less eagerness than she normally would have. Her appetite was upsset by nerves and the fact that her stomach had been kicked by Rein. That, y'know, does't make anyone feel good. She had a bit off a meagre helping, deciding that since it was a buffet she could go back for more if necessary and hunted down a table. She saw a table with only two girls on it, the silver-haired girl who had been yelled at and reacted in a very humorous way, in Karrins opinion, and another girl she didn't recognise. Not that that would be all too uncommon at first.

Karrin walked over, still a bit nervy, and simply asked to either of them "These seats taken?" She flicked her head to get her fringe out of her face for at least a second.

Emberly didn't really pick up much from the buffet, she wasn't all that hungry, she only ate a mountain this morning for breakfast. The tall girl easily picked Arturia out of the crowd, and advantage of being mad tall, you could see pretty much anybody since you were above all the riff-raff. That made it easier to see you in the crowd as well, but Emberly barely minded that at all. She did notice another girl talking to Arturia though. Small number with glasses. "Huh, I didn't see her before in the class, which is weird since... I usually see everyone. She must have been hiding pretty well." Emberly thought to herself. Emberly quickly strode over. "Heyo Arturia!" she said rather loudly. "Who's this? I didn't even see her back in class." She asked trying to be polite as possible. She beamed a big smile at her with a little giggle. "A shy one, or did you only just arrive?" she said directed at the newer girl she didn't know yet.

Vivienne smiled. "Hey, would you like to sit with us?" she glanced over at Arya hoping she'd allow this. Vivienne didn't care if she already had a parrner. She wanted to sit with and socialize with as many people as possible.

Nina watched as another girl came over to the table. "No, it's fine..." She was then heard another girl and quickly turned around glaring in silence trying her hardest to look at the girl's face. Oh my goddess, that hair is so pretty. Wonder what she uses to shampoo it with? With her focus now on the girl's hair, she'd completely lost focus on Karrin.

Karrin simply squeaked when Emberly came along. "You're very tall. I'm used to being called tall. Dear Lady, I can't get over your height" Karrin gibbered as she sat down next to Nina, unable to get out any long sentences to actually converse with Emberly, let alone anyone else.

"Well of course you can't get over it, your shorter than me." Emberly said giving the other girl a thumbs up and a silly grin. two other students decided to sit here. Well, Emberly wasn't actually there when they arrived but still, she couldn't help but feel more people than usual were just showing up around her. It was an interesting change of pace even though Karrin ((doesn't know her name... just... easier to point out who I mean, it is the same with Nina.)) was fixated on her height like most. She looked over to the other girl she had asked the questions to, but didn't get an answer for. She was... staring at Emberly kinda blankly. "Is she.... staring at my hair?" Emberly thought to herself ruffling her hair a bit as she scratched her head.. "Uh, you alright there? I guess you really are shy since you didn't answer me." she said still nervouisly messing with the hair on the back of her head. "That is okay though, not everyone can be as loud as I am." Emberly said giggling at Nina's behavior. It was strangely amusing to her.

"What brings you two over here? Not many people like hanging around me, they get all put off by my height for some reason. I am guessing you two are partners? Arturia and I are glad to met you. I am Emberly" she said pointing to herself.

Vivienne made her way to the nearest table and sat down across from Nina. "Hey guys, what's up?" She didn't notice Arturia at the table, unfortunately. For some reason, her mood had really shifted and she was trying to make as many friends as possible. She took a closer look at Emberly and almost fell backwards. "Holy guacamole, you're tall! Or....am I just short? Oh well!" Vivienne literally got up from her seat and started jumping around in joy as if she was on valium. She reached in her pocket, pulled out a piece of candy, and gently set it in Emberly's hand.

Arturia snorted lightly at the antics of Karrin and to a lesser extent Nina. When the green-haired girl - she still hadn't caught her name - sat down, she gave her an unreadable look, then decided to change the subject. "So, Nina, you said you needed a partner, right?" She still felt a bit bad about her reaction to finding out Arturia had another partner, given how hastily Arturia had chosen someone. However, now there were plenty of people around; one of them probably needed a partner too.

As soon as Viv heard the silver-haired girl speak, she turned around and faced her directly in the eye. This was completely uninitentional, of course, as she absolutely HATED making eye contact with those she felt had contempt for her. "Oh...it's you... h-hi." She began to wolf down her food, because she really didn't want to hang around in the situation any longer. "Look-- gah."

"Huh?" Nina finally snapped out of her little trance. "What was that about a partner?" That last word hit the girl like a truck. "Oh no! I completely forgot I was supposed to be looking for a partner. What am I going to do? What am I going to do?" If the panic in her voice didn't give it away, the quickly twisted back and forth trying to look for someone who was sitting by themselves showed she was anything but calm.

Vivienne felt the urge to just- hug Nina. She felt terrible to have chosen a partner so quickly, and wished she could go back in time to stop herself. But Arya was a great partner, too, and she couldn't ditch her like that. Maybe Vivienne could stay in the same dorm as Nina and become good friends with her. Anyways, she was intent on making this girl happy above all else.

"Alright!" she finished the remains of her food before grabbing Nina's hand and pulling her in a different direction. "Let's find you a partner, friendly friend!"

Hopefully Arturia will take care of my tray for me. Ain't got time to dump that right now.
