RubyHeart
Mary's eyes were locked on Riley's, she just liked Riley's voice. "That sounds pretty interesting and fun. Rules though... Yeah sure I'm completely fine with those~ Sharp seems like an interesting girl, so I'm fine with her. I don't have many of my own other than I must always sleep with a teddy bear. It'll be nice to have you as a partner, and fun to hang around with you, Lexi, and probably Sharp~"
rustytengo
Lyre giggled a little at Arya response." That is so very true, but alas its unfortunately a major part of our world so not much we can do about it. Though if its was about her declaring then i really need to say I'm sorry to her when I can." Lyre said well looking sad. Code: PIRULUK
Rein tilted her head slightly as a gesture of farewell to Lilith. Now for Natalie. She got straight to business. Business was good. Rein hated the social maneuvering that normally marked conversations, it was annoying and inane. She did not particularly care about being disciplined over her unusual tendencies; it would be nothing new. That said, it would free up more time for reading if she didn't have to deal with faculty members constantly detaining her for counselling. Serving as a bodyguard certainly was not one of her life goals, but it was also not one she really minded doing. Besides, this Natalie person carried an air of authority; maybe she would be able to help accelerate Rein's legislative name change. She did feel slightly offended - ever so slightly - at Natalie's assertion that she looked intimidating. She thought herself to be somewhat attractive. That said, it was a minor quibble, and here was this person offering to be a partner - more importantly, a partner who didn't care for improving social relations. Perfect. Of course, the way Natalie said it implied she had no choice but to accept. Rein noted indifferently that such might be considered socially unacceptable, but she did not particularly care. Rein nodded and extended her hand as a way of affirming the "contract", as it were.
Shamitako
(OOC: ) Natalie Always welcome to a handshake, Natalie extended her own hand and gave Rein's a firm shake. And with their contract affirmed, Natalie turned and strode out, the end-of-lunch bell ringing out just as she left the room. Lilith Later on in the evening, Lilith sat alone on her provided sleeping bag. She saw little point to Miss Katherine's little slumber party, nor did she enjoy the universal concept of partners in second stage schooling. But alas, it was inevitable, she could only hope that she would be approached by a worthwhile partner. So far the only people who had attempted to speak to her had just cared about her Line or somesuch. Sighing, she picked up her dinner plate. Unlike lunch, dinner was simply picked up and taken back to your room, or slumber party as it was for now. Lilith hadn't found herself very hungry, and as such had simply grabbed a helping of salad and nothing more. Though many of the other girls had half-eaten pieces of a small waterfowl jutting from their mouths. Lilith watched with mild interest as they all slowly split up into their little social groups, with the lonely stragglers like her clinging desperately to the walls. Lilith would have cried, loneliness was certainly not a feeling she enjoyed, but as a Laylite she was forbidden to cry in public, and discouraged from doing so in private. There seemed little do do now but sit and wait for someone to approach her. (OOC: Alright, if you're still here, I'd appreciate posts to let me know in the OOC. Also realize that it's been several hours, so feel free to form partnerships offscreen instead of trying to sort them out in your posts if you feel it's needed)
Code: PIRULUK
Rein was walking through the corridor, ignoring pretty much everyone and just walking. After Natalie had walked off, Rein had simply returned to class and carried on as per normal. Now, as she walked, she chanced upon Lilith sitting alone on a sleeping bag, a dejected look marking her face. Rein considered for a while. She had declared herself as Lilith's friend... Rein walked up to Lilith and expressionlessly sat beside her, not saying a word.
rustytengo
Lyre leaned against the wall near her sleeping bag and let out a sigh. This day had been tiring for her first off nether lunch nor dinner came with cake so she was running on low with out the extra sugar she usually ate, and other then that she was stressing herself out over trying to find the best way to apologize to Lilith for her own stupid questions this morning. Lyre looked back over at to where Lilith was sitting at noticing that the girl who sat with Lilith at lunch was now sitting next to her. “Oh boo now it’s going to be harder to apologize to her, but I won’t let this wait any longer.” She thought to her self as she grabbed a small box tied with a ribbon from her bag and walked over to Lilith and the other girl. “So umm…Hi again, Lilith right?” Lyre said well leaning down on her knees to be seated a bit in front of Lilith. “I know you probably don’t want to talk to me and I don’t blame you, after all I asked you some stupid things this morning with out thinking. I know I’m not that bright at times and I usually don’t think about much before I say things, so I wanted to say I’m sorry about asking you what I did this morning and give you this.” Lyre said with a sad look in her eye as she slide the box forward to Lilith. “Its some chocolates I brought from home… so I hope you can forgive me and we can be friends after this. If not I won’t blame you after all who would choose an idiot like me to be their friend, So bye bye.” She said as she stood up and begun to walk back her sleeping bag. Hiss13
Sion was not having a good start for the year. She had really been unable to do anything or talk to anyone in the classroom as a result of her feeble but somehow successful attempt at preventing her temper from taking over when she saw the fight start to happen.Lunch was no better. It was completely uneventful. She had ended up being unable to interact with a single student. At this point in the evening, she was tired and she had not even gotten the chance to do anything. She needed to talk to someone, though. If not, she would be unable to get a partner in time. So, Sion looked around and decided to pick some random cluster or individual using a sort of Ini Mini Miney Mo variant. As she finished the chant in her head, her gaze landed on a shorter student sitting with a silver-haired girl. That's the girl who declared Laylite earlier and the girl who was at the center of that argument. One is really bold or at least good enough at holding a facade of boldness and the other one is relatively strong and confident. Ugh…I don't know if it's right for me to talk to them. She then instinctively pinched her cheek at the thought. Dammit, what am I saying. This is a new year. Start it off on a different foot for once! You are not inferior, Sion! You are not inferior! You are not inferior. You are not…As she kept chanting to herself, she slowly walked up to the girls who were sitting down. "Do you mind if I join you?" Chevaleresse
Arturia, for the most part, stuck with the other Nayrists. Rather, she sat near them while quietly reading a book. She wasn't exactly good at introducing herself to other people, and besides, she was just getting to the climax of this particular book. She did occasionally look up from her reading to survey the room, though. She tried to keep track of her partner and a couple other interesting characters as the night moved. Well, relatively so, anyway. "Interesting" might not be the adjective of choice for a few people here.

Support Squad Felicity Posted May 30, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted May 30, 2015 Karrin sighed, lounging back into her seat. She didn't feel ready to go to sleep yet, she was still to pumped up... but of course what was there for her to do? Her partner, Nina, seemed nice enough but Karrin really didn't know what to say. "Making friends sucks" Karrin whined to herself, sighing in her restless boredom with furrowed eyebrows and a frown creeping over her face as she flicked her hair back out of her eyes every 5 seconds, like clockwork. Raindrop Valkyrie
Emberly... was late as always. She liked to say she was fashionably late, However... we all know that is just a poorly veiled excuse for being late and not wanting to explain. She arrived just a bit late. By now everyone was probably settled in and going about their business, Chatting away or something. Most people Emberly had no interest in talking to. All they ever went on about was her height for the most part. Tends to happen when one is freakishly tall... but it got rather old really quick. When it was all anyone saw. It was as if it was the one thing that defined her. The Freakishly Tall Girl. She was never too thrilled about that. She was much more than just tall after all. Of course this was all leading up to what Emberly would call "A Tall Moment." As she was locked on the thought of not wanting to converse with people since all they would likely mention... was how tall she was. Sadly, when thinking Emberly tended to space out. And When One as Tall as her spaced out... she tended to smack her head on door-frames. *THUD*, came a loud noise as Emberly bashed her cranium into the frame. Another loud thud came after she hit the floor. "Ow... This is why I hate doors..." the fiery-haired girl mumbled under her breath as she held the front of her forehead with a single hand. A throbbing pain pulsed all over her forehead. She stood quickly up though, trying to not make a scene. She quickly shuffled around the room looking for Arturia, the girl who was meant to be her partner. Luckily... one advantage of being tall was it was easy to locate others in a crowd. She could see over top the canopy of the furry trees, therefore it was easy to find the one she was looking for. She had no real interest of talking to anyone else for certain... at least not right now. She approached, quick... mostly cause she was still embarrassed as all hell from earlier. She kneeled down on her haunches that like... squatting position? You know what I mean. She did this mostly because standing over some one sitting down at her height...it was sorta hard to get a decent look at them without craning her neck in an nearly impossible angle. So she just lowered herself a bit. "Sooooo... whatcha readin'?" she asked to Arturia. "I know it is sorta ruuuude to ask that to someone who is...reading... but ah, I don't feel like talking to anybody else here." Emberly almost grumbled. She scratched the back of her head still a little embarrassed by the door incident and now interrupting Arturia while she was reading.
Shamitako
(OOC: Unfortunately, I only have the energy for Lilith right now, I'll add replies to others later. Also, the reason this interaction is happening will reveal itself Sunday afternoon assuming I'm able to post then) Lilith Lilith payed little mind to Rein, she saw no point in trying to strike up another awkward conversation. Instead she simply continued nibbling at her food. Her nibbling was interrupted, however, by the appearance of Lyre. She sat speechless as a box of chocolates and an offer of friendship were extended, and almost forgot to stop Lyre from walking away. "Wait, Lyre." She said reaching her hand out, "I'm grateful for the apology, and I'd like to be your friend. But..." she held out the chocolates, "I'm allergic to chocolate." Suddenly, a fourth party approached. And although she was beginning to feel a little crowded, she was also perfectly happy with a crowd. In fact, this school was finally starting to feel comfortable to her. Outside Natalie Opium and her little group, everyone seemed really nice. Oh, and then there was rein, Rein was a more normal Laylite, a bit of a loner, she might not be comfortable in a large group yet, at least not one she wasn't actively manipulating. "I don't mind at all. But I get the feeling Rein," she indicated the other Laylite, "probably doesn't enjoy being around a large number of people. So if it's okay with her it's okay with me" Lilith felt content she had addressed all concerns, it made her feel fuzzy inside.

Chevaleresse
Arturia shrugged. "It's fine. I'm not writing anything and this series in particular contains no scenes of graphic nudity or otherwise socially unacceptable content; elsewise I doubt I'd be able to get it past my mother. Not that she would review it closely enough to discover what is actually within it." Her eyes flicked up toward Emberly for a moment, noting what appeared to be a developing bruise and a flush of embarrassment. She elected to keep her observations to herself, however, to spare the other girl's talking about it. "Anyway, it's a series called the Wheel of Time. It's difficult to explain the whole concept, but essentially it's about a woman who was born to both save the world and destroy it. Of course, there wouldn't be much of a plot if that was all, so there are a number of factions set in opposition. I'm actually rereading the series; you discover more that you missed previously every time. It's also very internally consistent; you won't find many things that don't make sense in the context of the rest of the series, unlike many fantasy novels." She looked up at Emberly fully this time, checking for any looks of confusion. "There are a couple quirks about the writing, but nothing that seriously detracts from the incredibly high quality of the series." ((I figured that Rand would probably be a woman in a female-dominated society.))
rustytengo
Lyre was on cloud nine after Lilith accepted her apology though she was a little sad that Lilith was allergic to chocolate since she was missing out on something amazing. After the girl Lilith called Rein said it was okay for her and the other girl who came up to them to stay Lyre plopped herself down near Lilith and accepted the box back, forgetting that she was wearing a skirt for a moment. Blushing once she remembered that she was she readjusted how she was sitting hoping that no one saw anything. Sitting properly still blushing Lyre clapped her hands together happily "I'm Lyre Cross it's a pleasure to meet you." Lyre said awkwardly, nodding to Rein and the other girl doing her best to cover her earlier goof by acting proper.
Raindrop Valkyrie
"Hmmm, I see. Sounds interesting, thoooooough I don't like reading much~. Too much..... paper." She looked more than serious saying that. Emberly has always had a weird aversion to paper... more specifically... Paperwork. She was just never found of long pages full of text that went on forever. Of course this translated to things like textbooks, and other things with a lot of words. But mostly Paperwork... cause ew paperwork... like really... ew. As such she didn't spend a hell of a lot of time reading no doubt. She tended to one for more physical activity... or lazing around doing absolutely nothing... It was nice doing nothing. No responsibilities, just time to ponder... and think about... well, stuff. She sat down next to Arturia. She was still... much taller than her and not anywhere near eye level. Not that Emberly was ever eye level with someone she was talking to... it'd be nice every once and awhile though. "Good to know the consistency is solid though. I hate when things aren't consistent... It doesn't make any sense otherwise. Things should be solid enough that you have a good footing but never so rigid to be locked in place, or so wishy washy that you don't know where you can stand. I dunno, just how I feel." She kept touching the nice bruise on her forehead. It hurt pretty bad though it could be much worse. She had given herself a concussion once from slamming into a door... Emberly slammed into doorframes alot on account many were not adjusted for a person of her height. Most People didn't get anywhere near as tall as Emberly did and therefore she always needed to stoop slightly to get through doors anywhere she went. It was... rather inconvenient to say the least. She noticed Arturia glance at it for a second... so she wondered if it was really bad. She hadn't until she thought about it, but now she was curious. She put her face closer to Arturia and asked "Uh... does this look bad to you?" She was pointing towards it with her hand... thoooooough it was likely she didn't need to. Hiss13
Hearing the okay from the others, Sion sat down with the group. She crossed her legs and allowed the skirt of her lolita dress to completely cover her lower body. After Lyre had introduced herself, a nervous Sion followed suit. "Sion Sanctis, still partnerles--" Hearing what she had just said, she cut herself off as she felt her stomach churn. She was not good at interacting with people and it just showed there. Chevaleresse
Arturia shrugged. "It's not for everyone, I guess, though you're missing out on a lot by not reading." The girl's other comment prompted another shrug. "You're asking the wrong person. Medicine has never been a particularly interesting topic to me. It doesn't look that bad to me, though. However, you'll probably have a rather unsightly lump for at least a little while." She thought for a moment, her gaze returning to the novel in front of her. "Which line did you declare, by the way? I can't remember off the top of my head, if you told me at all."
Sutoratosu
Arya sat by herself as the evening dragged on, not really concerned with dinner as she worked the charcoal stick in her hands against the rough grain of the paper in her fingers. "Social orders here, social orders there... everyone has their own little click" Her eyes momentarily drifted up from her pad to the small congregation over by the laylite girl who had caused such a stir just that very morning. "Everyone. It never fails, always the same thing every single time, no matter where." She went back to the long, graceful strokes of pure black without a second glance, focusing on the scene unfolding under her fingertips. Solitude didn't bother her, not in the least bit, hell, she had even taught herself to get used to it overtime. Most of the time just staying out of the whole pecking order entirely and sticking to ones own company was better anyway- she already had learned that the hard way... and it wasn't something that needed a reteaching. "I still don't get why they do it... but whatever..." The Charcoal pulled away from the paper after one last stroke. On the pearly white sheet of her sketchpad lay the image she had been working on for the past hour or so; A white she-wolf with cold blue eyes like her own watching a inferno burn in the distance. Her paws stuck deep in the heavy packed snowfall, countless pine trees reaching up into star speckled the heavens as a light snow fall completed the scene. The dimensions, shading, lighting.... everything, it was absolutely spot on, much to Arya's approval, easily the best she had done yet... She didn't know why exactly she had chosen this of all things to draw though. Usually she stuck to still-lifes, challenged herself with photo-realism, and while technically this scene here had it in massive bounties throughout it all, she still couldn't think of what had prompted her think of wolves or fire... or rather, she could... but simply didn't want to admit it. "Everything burns eventually..." she sighed under her breath, tossing the newly finished sketch down onto the sleeping bag beside her. She leaned her head back against the wall, closing her eyes as she went over the events of the past day in her head. "Everyone gets theirs... eventually." It didn't even bother her at that moment that she still had no partner to speak of...
Commander
Nina had a nice meal before making her way back to the dorm rooms. She took a little detour trying to find her new partner. It was kind of difficult considering she already forgot the name. Geeze Nina, you screwed up this time. How could you forget her name again already? She looked around again still not seeing the girl. There must be something really wrong with my brain. Usually, I don't forget a name unless it's been a month or so. She walked around one last time still not seeing any sign. There was no point in staying so she went back to her dorm room. When she arrived, she reached into her pocket searching for her key. It wasn't in her normal spot so she checked her other pocket seeing it missing there as well. "Shit! Not this again." Nina frantically patted her pockets hoping by some miracle it'd appear out of nowhere. This defeat was too much as she gently banged her head against the door again and again. The torture of being trapped outside her nice, comfy room all because she couldn't keep a stupid key.
Raindrop Valkyrie
"I didn't tell you, because I don't really care about my line honestly. Not that I don't think they might have had importance once... but they seem rather...unimportant these days, at least to me." Emberly remarked... while she was still holding her forehead. The pain had luckily dulled to the point it was bearable now, still hurt a bit though. Next time... keep an eye out for doorframes, even if you are late. "If you must know... My line is that of Kallistle. I would ask yours... but frankly I don't rather care that much. Lines don't hold significance, people should stop pretending they do. It isn't like I can stop them though, nor would I even try. They have the right to believe even if I do not." Emberly never was one to care about the lines or the Goddesses so to speak. While their existence probably once mattered or the lines once did something, to her they were outdated constructs left over to still corral people. She wasn't very fond of any of them... or those that put stock into them. However, she wasn't one to tell people that what they believed was wrong... because it wasn't for them. Each Person had their right to believe that which they wanted to believe. For it was the right answer for them. Emberly had her answer, but others had theirs. And no one person was wrong. Chevaleresse
Arturia shrugged again. She seemed to be doing a lot of that. "I see. I'll tell you my line anyway; I am a nonpracticing Nayrist. While I agree with you on the point of the lines having little true significance, I still believe there are valuable lessons and ideas that can be taken from them. All of them, in fact; the line of Nayru simply suits my personal interests and personality the best." Somewhat abruptly, she let out a small chuckle. "Would you believe me if I told you I considered declaring Laylite at one point?"
Shamitako
(OOC: I'll edit in further posts as they are completed) After having vanished from their sight for a while to make them feel safe, Mary slowly snuck up behind Lexi and Riley and poked their sides. "Mwhahaha, I bet you thought I was somewhere else, but I've been stalking you like a panther for a while!" Mary said before she bursted into giggling. Riley The poke registered in Riley's nerves, but she managed to restrain herself from jumping. Lexi, on the other hand, seemed to shoot up fifteen feet in the air. Riley giggled momentarily, but was silenced by a glare from Lexi. "Don't do that." Lexi said indignantly. "Oh come on sis, it's all in good fun." Riley replied, stifling another giggle. Everything felt so, peaceful right now. There was the noise of a room full of girls having idle chit-chat, but compared to the insanity of lunchtime, this was nothing. Riley had her friends, old and new, it felt like nothing in the world could go wrong. (OOC: Also, it'd be nice if Lyre and Sion could attempt to complete their partner-ifying within their next couple posts) Lilith Lilith didn't really pay much attention to her friends. It wasn't that she didn't like them, it was that she had seen someone else who had caught her interest. Across the room, sitting by herself as Lilith had been moments earlier, a pretty black-haired girl was drawing. She seemed very focused on her drawing, but just for a moment she looked up. In fact, she looked in Lilith's direction. Though normally shy, Lilith's confidence was bolstered by her little group of friends and she stood. "I'll be back in a minute." She said absentmindedly to the other three. She then walked over too where the girl was sitting, now leaning against the wall with her eyes closed. "Um, h-hello." Lilith said, her confidence suddenly draining out, "I'm L-Lilith. I like dr-drawing, c-c-c-can I s-see what you were, were drawing?" Inside, Lilith wanted to turn and run back to her friends, but she stood her ground, mostly because she was too nervous to move.
Raindrop Valkyrie
"I am pretty sure most have at one point or another Artie. Power is a prospect most search for. Whether for good, or ill. To protect others, or all for themselves." Emberly said. For it was true... at least from her point of view. Most looked towards power... Layla's promise of it made it seem like it was at the tips of one's grasp. And Power was much sought after. You could do anything with enough of it, or so those that followed that line tended to believe. But, power wasn't everything. It certainly wasn't the only thing Laylite wanted to teach... Her own followers scorning the teachings they choose to follow. "So, yes I would believe it. It is the line that promises something everyone can understand readily. Faith, Luck and Reason... their values are much harder to see than that of Power. Power is the simplest of all Four. That is what makes it so tempting, that it can so easily be understood what it's purpose is. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in this very room did consider it at least once, even if for just an errant second. I know that I have not, but that is because Power isn't something I desire. There are things in this world that are much more potent... and important than just power."
Sutoratosu
Arya had kept her eyes closed despite sensing someone drawing closer- that strange little bit of tucking one might get in the back of their mind from time to time that compels you to suddenly look around subconsciously as if you're being watched, though from where it comes from none truly have any idea. Unlike most though, she had learned it was best to trust the instinct whenever it piped up; she didn't need her eyes to confirm what her subconscious already told her. She did, however, open them upon hearing how nervous the other girl was, glancing at her in her periphery. She might've been annoyed given the mood she was in, but... this wasn't just anyone; it was none other than the late proclaimed Laylite. And this little approach didn't seem to be easy for her from what Arya could gleen... "Might as well cut her some slack...she's just trying to be friendly, afterall." She thought as her hand reached to her side and picked up the pad, holding it out for the other girl. "Besides, No point in being mean; acting like the very bitches that I despise..." she still kept her head leaned against the wall all the while, uttering but one thing as she offered a veiw of her latest work. "Arya."
