PupSpace
Please check HERE for the OOC chat, Sign-Ups, Character Refs, and Discussion! Backstory Several years ago, a bright, white light invaded the skies world-wide, bestowing amazing powers upon a few special kids. Now, 30 of them are enrolled on a distant island chain in a program to create a neutral superpower for good. No allegiances to countries, no ties to specific morals, working for the World. Starter: ((Purple will henceforth represent words from the Adults, order, missions, and other such official business.)) "Alright, first and foremost, we're pleased to have you all here, settled in and happy." The adult, dressed in a crisp, white lab coat over a blue button-up shirt and black slacks barely checked to ensure that the children below him were happy or not. That wasn't his concern. His real concern was in preparations. He looked out to the seas, spying a towering tree-fort one of the children had built. "I can see you've begun cultivating. We want you to know that you are all free to create your own spaces here. However, soon there will come a day when you must begin repaying the generosity in bringing you all here." There were a few scoffs among the crowd, but nonetheless the adult carried on. "You have been sponsored, every one of you, by the United Nations to form a peacekeeping group. Soon there will be a day when you are asked to use your powers for the good of all mankind. Some may be asked to rebuild zones struck by disaster, others may be asked to use their powers to put stops to conflicts. We hope you can hold up to our expectations." He stepped down from the small stage in HQ to a box of pamphlets on the ground. He looked around, and there was a glint in his eye, an excited sort of yearning. "If you could, please take one of these each and fill it out. It will include such information as your abilities and what jobs you'd be willing to do personally. That is all; once you've collected your forms you are dismissed." Kai crossed her arms over her chest throughout the little talk, chewing her lip. She was perturbed by the entire thing. Some group of old people decided they must be useful for something, and then shipped them to an island? Of course, she'd jumped at the opportunity to get out of Australia and the scared looks thrown her way each day, but that didn't mean she wanted to suddenly live on some island out in the middle of - literally - nowhere. At least it was warm. She worked her way to the box, snatching up one of the pages and jumping onto the stage to avoid the crowds. She felt deeply uncomfortable with this new environment. It wasn't home. She started scribbling out her responses, that she was a shapeshifter, that she honestly couldn't give a crap what missions she went on. Channing, however, was a sort of nervous excited. He liked the idea of helping others around the world, as terrified as he was of hurting others. His chest squeezed slightly as he floated forward, barely realizing he was off the ground at all. When he finally noticed, he took a deep breath to not panic and shifted his weight forward. It was hard to stay upwards, but he managed to move to a horizontal position and then completely vertical upside-down so he could easily reach down and scoop up a page. He scooted mid-air to sit on the stage and allowed himself a single shiver, rolling his spine like a bag of bones. He adjusted his tie and shuffled his hair from his eyes, putting himself back together as he did. Finally, he looked to the page. This thing was ludicrous. Was he willing to harm people to protect "World Peace?" Hell no. Geo, on the other hand, didn't give a crap either way. He was on the ground in a corner beside the stage, tinkering with some metal bits. He'd found the microphone and straight nicked it, breaking it down into little metal ingots, wires, and a hunk of plastic. Now he was breaking each bit down and constructing something new. Suddenly, a rocking shake filled the area, the large building that made up HQ standing up fine but still giving a groan. The entire room went pitch silent for moments, so every person inside could hear three loud, rumbling footsteps, and then there was a ripping sound, and a large robot-type being stood there, its knees visible but nothing more through the small doorway. The banging continued at a fever-pitch as it started tearing up the building. Kai was one of the first to react, tearing into a larger form, a lumbering Komodo Dragon. Her tongue lolled out as she started barreling through the crowd, aiming to tear the thing to shreds. Channing instead tasked himself with protection, floating between the door and the main group, back to the door, hands up slightly. "Guys, let's think this out first, that thing's pretty damn big..." "Y'all keep it down, I'm trying to wuh -" Geo cut himself off suddenly, his chest pounding. He was, however, one of the first to think of his powers in this sense. He found the ladder up to the higher level of the warehouse of HQ, his eyes on the support beams across the ceiling and the lights there. He had a plan. K_H
"If you could, please take one of these each and fill it out. It will include such information as your abilities and what jobs you'd be willing to do personally. That is all; once you've collected your forms you are dismissed." Jenkins had used Gravity to make himself fall past the Box first, snatching up a page as he whizzed by. "Me first!" Jenkins, on the other hand, used a Rectangular Barrier to get out of the way of the crowd, jumping onto it and then making it rise above head height. Then, he moved the Barrier to a location where he could take one of the pages, ridiculing Jenkins as he did so. "Jeez, man, no need to rush, there's enough for everyone!" Jenkins and Khet had both just finished filling out their forms and were about to hand them to the Adults when they were interrupted by the sudden Footsteps. ...Aaand then the Robot happened. Both Jenkins and Khet were startled by the sudden appearance of the robot, but the ways in which they reacted were radically different. Jenkins reacted by making the Gravitational Field change direction just outside the Door so that the Robot would be flung upwards and away from the Warehouse, yelling angrily as he did so. "Go AWAY, you metallic B*st*rd!" Khet reacted a few seconds later, putting up a large Barrier just around the Warehouse in a fashion that would buy them some time to plan out their strategy. He then spoke to the others. "I'll buy us some time with the Barrier I've got up between us and it, but we need to act quickly!" Yash
Angel waited till everybody had taken the form and then stepped up to take hers. She didn't need to hear the dreams of the entire crowd. She would probably implode from the multitude of emotions. She filled up her form. Couldn't hurt anybody with my ability even if I wanted. Yes she was willing to spy on a perceived enemy. She handed the form to the adult in the room. His fingers touched hers. Angel shuddered, feeling all of his dreams and desires. Well, atleast I know how to manipulate him. That should help me get whatever I want. All of a sudden she heard the metallic screeching of the robot banging and attacking the building. There wasn't much she could do to help. Luckily two boys seemed to have set up some sort of protective barrier around the building. "What is that thing? How did anybody find us here?" Angel asked the man in the white lab coat. Chevaleresse
Adolf had been waiting for the other children to get their forms before standing. He had been reading a book on his Kindle, but was so startled when the machine burst through that he nearly threw the thing on the ground. He actually shrunk a few inches as his hair flashed some sort of color - he didn't quite notice - before he stood up in a hurry. Scanning the crowd, he quickly made his way over to a girl he knew, Angel. She was apparently asking the man where the machine had come from. "I'd like to know, too," he said in a slightly quavering voice.
Sevonic
Ashton, focused on his game of 2048, which he was playing on his phone and literally screamed when the giant robot crashed through the wall. "WHAT THE LIVING FUCK WAS THAT?!" He stopped to catch his breath for a few moments, and walked over to where the strange man and kids were. Ragnar
Zulu watches behind his mask as the robot violently makes it way inside the room. Overthinking and too many questions in mind, he just stand still and observes from the distance while the commotion ensues. where does this robot come from? why is it attacking us? why are we attacking it? does any of this make any sense!? Zulu refuse to move until he gets the proper information he needs.
PupSpace
Kai was the first to reach the creature, leaving the barrier behind. She leapt at it, eyeing a bolt and taking it in her strong jaws. She yanked back, her body whipping as a dog would while playing a tug-of-war game. She couldn't get the thing off, but she did loosen it some. She kept tearing at the thing's foot, blocking its entrance into the warehouse. She was quickly realizing her own strengths were less than she had originally imagined. Suddenly, the ground shook and the robot floated upwards, gravity shifting. She was yanked up, jaws still locked on the same bolt which was quickly eroding to her toxic saliva. She swung herself up, jaws still locked, so her legs gripped tightly to the leg of the robot. A few more jerks and she managed to get the bolt off, the foot falling to the ground and crashing. She couldn't take the thing down like this but she could slow it at least. Geo grunted and swung his leg over a ceiling beam and settled on it, straddling the beam and using his hands to draw himself forward slightly. He could just about reach the cords that wrapped together to feed the lighting system. After placing thick insulating gloves on his hands he held the little metal bits he'd been tinkering with and crushed them down into a single short rod-shape which he then wrapped in some rubber tubing he kept in his bag. He unplugged one of the overhead lights right near the wall, holding a hand up to the people below to let them know he was doing it on purpose. The warehouse remained bright nonetheless. He wrapped the wires inside around the metal bit, bending it into a hook of sorts. He pulled out his communicator and sent a message to any communicator nearby. "Can shock his system. Cover me and I'll get closer. -Geo" Channing looked up when the light went out, seeing the small Geo climbing around up there. He floated towards the boys who'd worked together to form the barriers. "What do we do? It looks like we can take it down but we have to work together. Let's see..." He saw the scientist scuttling towards the door, hunched over like a rat. He floated over and grabbed him, holding his arm above his head with his shoulder locked. He wrapped his other arm around the scientist and floated him up, grunting with the effort, and back to the barrier in front of everyone. "What is this?" He asked loudly but calmly. The scientist shook his head, skin white and sweat beading on his forehead. He, apparently, knew nothing as well. K_H
Jenkins ran out past the Barrier, yelling out a warcry. "Let's give that soup can hell!" Jenkins then altered Gravity again so that the Robot came crashing down into the ground hard enough to become partially embedded in the ground. It wasn't enough to permanently stop it, since the Robot was only buried up to its waistline, but it did make the Robot unable to advance as long as it was stuck in the dirt. Khet, on the other hand, pulled out his Communicator, sending a Message back to Geo as he floated upwards on a Barrier that was large enough to carry both of them. "I'll cover you and get you closer to it. -Khet"
Sevonic
Ashton nodded in understanding and ran out to where Jenkins was. He grinned and started throwing out insults at the thing. "Hey you! Trash can! Come at me, you piece of rubbish!" He really wanted to just go ahead and attack the thing, but he thought making an entrance would spike things up a bit. "You guys...might want to close your eyes, or you're going to go blind," he boasted, glancing over at the boy and winking. K_H
Jenkins nodded. "You can take it from here; i'm done for now." Jenkins yelled out another Insult at the Robot. "Hey, Tin Grin! How do ya like being stuck in one spot!?" Jenkins then ran back inside. Edited February 19, 2015 by K_H
Sevonic
It started out with a few punches and kicks, but Ashton knew that wasn't enough. I hate having to do this to my foes, but I really have no choice right now. A blinding light began to emit from his body as he started absorbing sunlight. He made a pained face, as light was his worst fear. Courage, Ashton, courage. You have to do this for the sake of everyone here. This might not be enough to finish tin grin off, but it should at least blind the fucker and immobilize him temporarily. I sure hope everyone else knows what I'm about to do, because nobody deserves to be blinded by light as bright as the sun. He took a deep breath, and let all the energy he was absorbing out on the tin can. "Well....that worked..." He collapsed on the ground, completely stripped of his energy. God damn it. I overdid it again. Edited February 18, 2015 by Sevonic
Yash
Angel saw that one of the boys fighting the Robot was sort of glowing. She realised that there was going to be some sort of explosion. "Everybody be careful. Something is going on with that guy. It looks like he is going to explode. Hide, quick." She tapped Adolf on the shoulder and pointed to a table nearby. "Help me overturn it and get behind." She ran to where the large table was kept and started pushing it on it's side. "Help me out here, people." She shouted out loud, trying to get help from those nearby.
