Reccomendation?

So I am replaying the game (lost first file somehow idk) and at the moment i am torn between which 'mons i should use. im at Rhodocrine forest (lvl 25ish) and my mains are:

Grotle

Espurr

Buneary

Pansear

Trubbish

Swirlix

My possibilities to replace the last 3 with are:

Scatterbug (Vivillion>)

Mareep

Budew (too lazy to evolve)

or Happiny for walling

So my question is, what should i switch around/mess with? all help is appreciated.

Since your near the Rodochrine Jungle, I for one suggest dropping Pansear for a Growlithe!

Mareep overall isn't a bad Pokemon but its movepool is not good lol

*didn't notice you didn't have Growlithe but you could always get him :P

Anyway, for now you should stick with:

Grotle, Espurr, Trubbish, Pansear/Growlith, & Mareep.

You could replace Espurr later with something like Ralts or Gothita.

Trubbish is good in the early game for toxic-spikes, and maybe you could figure out a 6th by covering up weaknesses.

water type maybe :P

I'm waiting to get myself a good water type, unfortunately i don't have many options. Ame made it hard to find any good ones early on and just threw out trash at us (panpour I'm talking about you) so that's fun.

As for mareep, should i replace him with swirlix or buneary? i like buneary because he's a hard hitter, but i also love swirlix because its a damn ice cream cone. What do you suggest, mighty lostelle?

EDIT: Bunnelsby is nearby in the cave (I believe) so maybe i replace buneary with that and call it good? I'm not sure.

Well, like other Pokemon (Looking at you, Kriketune), most early Pokemon lose their usefulness after a certain point. Unless we get M-Lopunny soon, which we won't, you may want to find another option.

You could always trade the Growlithe you receive for an Azurill, but since you lack a good fire type, you could go back to the city and get yourself a Numel on a rainy day.

If you do decide to grab the Azurill, it wouldn't be a shabby idea as Ame will probably remove said trade as Azumarill is INCREDIBLY strong at the early levels, with a 90 base STAB move @ level 25.

EDIT: Yes! Bunnelby (Diggersby) Would be a great alternative! Make sure to pick up one with Huge Power.

Ugh, hate it when that happens like thinking Snorunt evolves with a Dusk Stone ever since you found the stone.

Espurr/Meowstic will come in quite handy at the Poison Gym, and I also can recommend picking up a good flying type like Dodrio or Fearow up in Berryl. (they will SLAY the next 2 gyms with type effectiveness.)
