Sevonic
Clara and I decided that making a roleplay would be fun, so we made this. Not even sure if it's going to get any hype, because it was a spontaneous idea. I'm a perfectionist. I'm probably going to end up editing this occasionally for the next few days. Plot: In the year 2700, a genetic mutation known as Magicamutationem was discovered. This mutation gave humanity the ability to control the elements of Earth: Wind, water, fire, thunder, light, and darkness. The mutation passed down from generation to generation until everyone considered "normal" died off. It became known that each person was different with what elements they received. One person, at the time, was only able to control the element that their genes mutated towards. A theory was created a few years later saying that it may be possible for future generations to use more than one type of magic if their parents have different elements. It was later found that even though it is possible for the offspring to use both elements, it is too difficult to do and is taxing on the body. This led to mastery of only one element, even in future generations. In the year 2830, a dispute began between those controlling the elements of water and those controlling the element of fire - each wanted completely different things for the world. The element of water valued intelligence, while the element of fire valued power. This dispute gradually grew worse until violence seemed to be the only option. Wind and Darkness wielders sided with the intelligent Water - forming the Severlind Alliance, and Thunder and Light sided with the powerful Fire - forming the Fulmination alliance. This dispute turned into a war, and the world was ravaged and destroyed by the elements. Underground civilizations were built to protect the civilians of each alliance who had nothing to do with this, while the war raged on above land. The year is now 2850, and anyone between the ages of 15 and 25 have been drafted regardless of their practice in their element. Those with less training were given the basics before they were sent out to learn on the field. Regardless of how inhumane this was, the alliances felt that the younger minds were the key to winning. How it works: Your character is born with the ability to wield one of six elements: - Fire - Water - Light - Darkness - Wind - Thunder Choose one. There are two allied powers: Fulmination - Thunder, Fire, and Light Severlind - Wind, Water, and Darkness Basically, you pick an alliance and fight with your element. Characters: (I don't usually throw OCs in here, but I haven't gotten the chance to legitimately use Sevvy in a long time.)) Name: Sevonic Age: 17 Alliance: Severlind Element: Wind Appearance: Long, brownish-red hair (kept in a ponytail) and blue eyes. Sevonic usually wears his combat uniform unless dressing formally. Personality: Despite being a teenager, Sevonic is rather serious and would rather not joke around (ever). He is quite egocentric and may appear incapable of feeling any sort of care for others. Because of this, he is quite unaffected when his friends get hurt. No pain, no gain. Despite his self-centered personality, Sevonic is considered a leader by many. INTJ Backstory: (this will be added later) Rules: 1.) Post-apocalyptic isn't the same as futuristic. Don't expect technology to be super advanced, even though this RP will be set far into the future, plus the fact that most technology has been destroyed due to the war. 2.) This is a very cliche rule, but it should still be enforced: NO GOD-MODDING. Your character does NOT need to be a super-muscular explosive-tornado-destructive-immortal-buff-man to be powerful. Everyone's magical capabilities need to be around the same level, though your age and personality (backstory) will determine how much PRACTICE your character has in their element. 3.) You can make as many characters as you want, but one is preferred. 4.) Shipping/romance is allowed, but don't go ERP crazy with it. 5.) Prepare to be attacked at any time. This is set in a society that relies on magic. People are DEFINITELY going to abuse their abilities. 6.) Rule 7 please! Keep it PG-13 people. Commander
This seems interesting. I have one little question (this is coming from a guy who's written huge novels with something similar to elements) how exactly do the elements work. Is it more like Avatar where they are able to bend elements around them?
Sevonic
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll edit that in the morning when I have the time.
Shamitako
[insert semi-hypocritical comment--one that sounds suspiciously like Sarcy's first comment on ANKL in fact--about Thunder being sound here] [Add statement affirming that the previous comment was a joke her] This seems absolutely terrible and if I didn't have less time I wouldn't join it (Which basically means it actually seems P neat but I have no time and am struggling enough to keep up with ANKL so I won't be participating) The one thing you could do to improve it (well, not the only one, but the simplest) would be to flesh out the power system better as Comm suggested

BreezyPonie
This seems interesting, if it's even still going. The thread seems to be a couple weeks old. If this is confirmed to be a thing I will definitely check back Edited March 1, 2015 by BreezyPonie
