Support Squad Felicity Posted February 21, 2015 Author Support Squad Share Posted February 21, 2015 How much do people care about dex data for Pokemon? One of the reasons I have things like, Joltik, for example, at the level they are is because I felt it was awkward to be giving players evolved Pokemon in events when they don't have any way to obtain the un-evolved form sans breeding that specific Pokemon? I had been trying to avoid that awkwardness, but in retrospect I suspect most players would rather have ready-to-go levels and be forced to breed if they want the data anyway. Another consideration in the 7th st Pokemon is the puzzle itself. Abra needs to be Abra (not Kadabra) for the puzzle to make sense, and it's weird to be getting a level 40 whatever Abra at that stage. Like why ain't you evolvin' bro? Would it be possible to put the pre Evolutions in the wild after completing the event like as a trigger? There are other event mons to be found in the wild, ponyta for example, later on after you could have obtained them and this way it still means that the event has to be completed to get access to the evolution line. Serythe
Most of those you listed I'm okay with (especially Ditto since HP is the only important stat anyways). Here's a couple that are often forgotten: Stunfisk Before I get any hate, this thing isn't too bad of a Pokemon. The level it comes at pretty much makes it absolutely worthless though because no one wants to train a Stunfisk up 28 levels (I think it comes up at lv 5) just to be able to use it. I'd prefer if it wasn't ranked on the same level as Dunsparce because it can be useful especially when Aya is coming around the corner. I'd be happy with a level 20 one, but I'd rather it be 25. Forgive me if this had been mentioned already or not; didn't finish reading through the thread before writing this! In the first cave on Apophyll Island - not Pyrous Cave or w/e its called (I forget lol), but the other one, you can find level 30-35 and possibly higher stunfisk. I had previously caught one around that level I believe. Edited February 21, 2015 by Serythe
Meruem
i kind of agree with there being no thing as something that's too low leveled to be used. on certain areas, not all 'mons should be at the same level, it makes more sense to me if some are underleveled in comparison to others, due to just being overall weaker or living in cities, where they can hardly evolve (or if they're eggs, which should also be pretty common across the entire region). the game is supposed to be hard too, meaning it makes more sense for good 'mons to be available in these type of events, and not-so-good ones (in comparison) to be obtainable in the wild. you have to choose between playing with the 'mons you currently have at a fair level (be them good, average or just plain bad) or grind to use your favorite ones. grinding, in my opinion, is important in a pokemon game, even if tedious/annoying. it's one of the reasons why I chose reborn over official pokemon games and even other fan aide games to begin with. also, level caps between badges are often so short that you're forced to use common candies on the majority of your party. sometimes, it makes it possible for underleveled 'mons in your party to catch up with the others in no time. Not practically, no.
