Passively gaining currency

I don't know if it is to be found somewhere, but how is it possible for me to gain currency without actively trying to acquire it? Because for some reason it increments. (I don't consider this to be a bad thing, but I'm just curious.)
Has it to do with reputation points or amount of posts?

Well what can I say about that is that when my friend Nickcrash had above the 500 posts count to buy the Ace Member rank he don't have the money and he have about the double and more rep points that I have

He upgrade his acc with almost 800 post and I did it on 700

As for me when I hit the 500 posts I had about 5800 money and just yesterday that I upgrade my own account 7700~ money

Rupees stems off of your posts made. Each section gives a different amount of rupees. From what I'm aware, you cannot passively acquire rupees. So, to answer your question, no, aside from donating, there is no way to gain rupees aside from increasing your post count.

this isnt on the right section, but yea that's pretty much it.

you can also participate in the weekly theme tours (mostly hosted on saturdays) or just any other type of special event/tournament, which earn you prizes that can range from something as small as hundreds of rupees to something as big as thousands.

im really close to my 500th post and ive had 10k rupees for a very long time now, all thanks to these type of special events/tourmaments.

If so, coupled with bonus content in the game as a reward, that's a pretty clever system to get people involved on the forums. I wonder if it would improve things if you could get more off a post if it gains more likes, depending on where you put it (like now with the posts itself). Might be a bit tricky to balance, though.

The on-site currency won't affect your game. It's only for the Site Shop and Sprite Shop, but a lot of people do enjoy those.

As for changing how the moneystuff works, the problem isn't balancing it, it's coding it.
