In Ametrine City, there's this girl that blocks your way to the peak for part of the story, claiming she lost her necklace or something. After you progress the story a bit, she finds it and changes locations. You'll now see her in one of the houses, complaining that the charm on her necklace makes her feel bad or something. If you have a Flower Charm with you, she'll offer to trade her necklace for it. Surprise, the charm on her necklace is a Banetteite.

Remember Nyu? The guy in North Adventurine woods who made the PC, and gives you honey when you give him Ice Cream? Well, if you give him the super rare Blue Moon Ice Cream, he'll give you your choice of Heracrossite or Pinsirite. Make sure it's the ONLY kind of Ice Cream or Candy in your bag, deposit all other types into the PC otherwise it may or may not work. Afterwards, he'll give you your choice in Mega Stone for any type of Ice Cream, so don't worry, you don't need 2 Blue Moons to get both. On the downside, you'll lose the ability to get Honey from him. You can still buy it from the flower shop in Lapis Ward, though. How to get Blue Moon Ice Cream, you ask? Well, it will very rarely be sold by ice cream vendors (talk to one of them, enter their shop menu, exit it, repeat over and over, and eventually the menu will have it). However, when they do sell it, it's very expensive. To get it for free, you can find it via pickup between levels 31 and 70. It's only a 1% chance though.

Well, I guess the case is closed. I would have preferred to test it myself before declaring the hunt over, but it's gonna be a while before I get one Blue Moon Ice Cream, let alone two.

Honestly, I probably never would've guessed that in forever. I've actually never acquired blue moon ice cream before, but it looks like I don't have much of a choice. To the vending machines.

As another guy said, that's the PC storage. I like to keep some important items there. It's the place where I used to store all my blue moon ice creams.

Just keep buying vanilla ice creams and you get the blue moon one after 10 or 20 attempts.

EDIT: BTW can someone get this topic pinned so everyone can see? Since now mega stones are a thing in reborn.

By the way, how do you get Blue Moon Ice Cream from vending machines? Does it randomly show up as a thing you can buy like with human vendors or do you buy any random one and you might be given the Blue Moon one instead?

1) They can be dropped when u try to buy some other ice cream

2) They can be as buy option but veeeery expensive

As far I remember the dropped scenario happens before u buy a normal ice cream. But u can always save and reset

Uh, well I got the stones by using my two Blue Moon Ice Cream. But he also offered me the stones if I gave him a regular Chocolate Ice Cream.

So maybe he'll accept all ice cream in general for then..?

I tried it with Chocolate Ice Cream first by accident and he only gave me Honey.

The easiest way to get Blue Moon is with Pickup by far. Just get six Pickuppers and start grinding them, or five and one 'mon you'd wanna level up anyway. I got like three and I don't even need them lol.

Well... you can save infront of a vending machine, buy say like, twenty, if you don't get one reset and try again.

Help! When I talk to Nyu he doesn't say anything about the stones, he just ask me if I have ice cream, I select yes, he takes a Choc and then gives me honey. I have two Blue Moon Ice Cream but nothing happens. Did I miss something?

Make sure you only have the Blue Moon Ice Cream in your Bag. You can deposit the other candy and ice cream into the PC under your Trainer's name. Once you do that, you should be able to give the Ice Cream in exchange for one of the stones.

So uh, does it matter the location of the vending machine, or the flavor of the ice cream? Because I've bought over 50 Vanilla Ice Creams from the Sweet Kiss Candy Shop so far...

It shouldn't matter as far as I know, most likely just bad luck that it hasn't dropped yet. Hopefully you saved before you started buying so you can soft reset and try again.

I spent about 10,000 and got three. Buy in packs of 20 and if you don't get anything reset. Seriously, I'm keeping one of those on me from now on because I never would've figured this one out (yet it does make sense when you think about it).

I was lucky and got 2 Blue Moon buying like 40 Chocs. Btw, after you give Nyu one Blue Moon Ice Cream for one of the stones, he will give the stones (both Pinsirite or Heracronite) for common ice creams:
