Quite joy...but I can never find an mmo with a guild that Ive adored as much as my previous from a few years ago. That guild was a 4 year part of me QwQ Or just friends. :0 Friends are fun. Probably why I enjoy the minecraft server. Tho I dont have friends on there from the bunch of glorious reborn people :TBut everyone is friendly and fun. Flux Posted June 10, 2015 Share Posted June 10, 2015 I finally went back and started Dark Souls 1 again. I played DS2 and loved it, but could never get into the first game for the longest time. Now that I finally have, I can see that it's just as awesome. Other than that, I'm still playing Smite and practicing Super Smash Bros. Melee. Those two are unlikely to change for a long time... Maelstrom Posted June 27, 2015 Share Posted June 27, 2015 Finished off the Halo 2 campaign with my brother, after I bought a second xb1 controller today. Then we blasted through the halo 3 campaign. Probably gonna go through ODST before finishing off with Halo 4. And then redo some missions so I can get any skulls and terminals I missed. As for me, I'm currently playing Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment and Sword Art Online: Lost Song. I've kind of been switching between the two. They both have their up and downs, but I love SAO so they're great. Also still playing Smite and Super Smash Bros. Melee, as per usual. Why do I hear about games I want to play and they either come out only in Japan, or I hear about them a year later and never saw them in stores? I wanted to play a SAO game or two... I have ToA. Hated the main character as an ignorant, spoiled brat for most of the game. And the game's story just takes forever to get anywhere. Tear is love though. That opening animation though. <3 Also, saw a poster for this at gamestop and wondered why no one ever mentions it. I had an old GBA shounen jump game and it was really fun. Hollow Fragment is on the Playstation store for PS4 and Vita if you have either of those (Translation is kind of wonky at times though), and Lost Song is getting a NA release soon. I just bought the Asia version of Lost Song because it's English subbed and all the menus are in English anyway. It's actually translated very well too. You can't even really tell it's the Asia version except for a few minor mistakes. (Like using "alright" when they should have used "all right." Not a big deal though.) The only downside is that you can't use any DLC for it unless you have an Asian PSN account, which I learned the hard way. Lost Song is also a sequel of sorts to Hollow Fragment, so if you do get either of them, just be aware of that. It's pretty much just the characters playing through the new content with some side stories. For Mael's sake: Hollow Fragment gives an alternate take on the anime, in which they have to finish all 100 floors to clear the game. As I said, both games have ups and downs to them, though I find the gameplay itself to be enjoyable. The story in both games is pretty shallow. They can both use work, but Lost Song definitely improved upon HF, and if they make another game any time in the future, I would expect it to be even better. I won't claim that they're amazing games, because they're not, but I wouldn't call them terrible either. I guess I'll try to list out some positives and negatives. Hollow Fragment: Reveal hidden contents Positives: Familiar characters, taking place in Aincrad. Voice actors from the anime (Japanese) A lot of content - The game will take a while to complete, especially with the Hollow missions. (The version on the PS store is actually a combination of Hollow Fragment and Infinity Moment, which was released for PSP. The Aincrad levels are Infinity Moment, while the Hollow Missions are the newer game.) Battles are fun, especially for an RPG of this type. Semi-action RPG. HUD is very reminiscent of the anime menus. Interesting story idea - allows you to see the remaining levels of Aincrad. Many available characters to party with Many skills to learn and Weapon types to use Character customization is pretty decent. Many weapons and armor sets available to further customize your look. The bosses actually drop an item if you manage to get the last hit, just as in the anime. All DLC is free Negatives Poor translation in many places. Not usually to the point where you can't understand it, but it's noticeable. Gameplay gets repetitive - each level of Aincrad has a "Labyrinth" area, which are all just remapped versions of the same area. While battles are fun, the labyrinth can get tedious at times. While the story has an interesting idea, it isn't actually expanded upon that much - There aren't many story-related scenes in the Aincrad portion. (I can't speak as much for the Hollow Missions because I haven't done many of them yet.) The game often turns its focus to the Kirito harem. Unfortunate, but expected and not that bad. Kirito is the only playable character. You can customize him to look quite different and change his name, but the story will always be told from Kirito's point of view. Music is nothing special. While you do get a last-hit bonus from bosses, many of these drops appear to be items you can buy elsewhere, rather than exclusives. I'm not sure if they all are though, as I have some that I haven't seen anywhere else. The graphics are sub-par for a Vita game. They are slightly updated from the PSP release of Infinity Moment, though they had to maintain equality with that for the Hollow Missions, so it's not what it could be. Lost Song Reveal hidden contents Positives The game has its own unique opening song and animation (Done in CG), separate from the anime. Multiple familiar characters, and ALL OF THEM are playable. There are even more than you would expect, including characters like Sakuya and Alicia Rue Each character has 3 different weapon styles available to use and master. Larger parties - Rather than a single teammate as in Hollow Fragment, you get to create a party of up to three characters in Lost Song. Kirito is not required to be in the party. You control the party leader and the other two are AI. Beautiful graphics - the game looks very nice on the Vita, sporting cel-shaded graphics. Much better quality than HF graphics wise. Flight is FUN - The game takes place in Alfheim, and let me just say that flying around is fun stuff. Completely action-oriented battle system. There are no auto-attacks. You control your character entirely, choosing when to jump, fly, use skills, attack, etc. Ground and aerial combat - As would be expected of an ALO game, aerial combat is included, though flight is prohibited in dungeons. Gameplay in general is fun. The combat is enjoyable, though I wish it had a deeper system to extend combos. Great translation (Asia version) Negatives Once again a flaw, the gameplay can get repetitive. It's pretty much enter X dungeon, beat X boss, collect X item. Do this around 3-4 times and you can fight the area's main boss. This repetition is unfortunately one of the biggest flaws of both games. The story is pretty bland. Without spoiling anything (though there isn't a lot to spoil, from what I've seen so far) the gist of the story is that there is a new expansion in ALO, and Kirito and friends and trying to be the first to clear it. They're in competition with child genius/idol Seven and her guild. I haven't finished the game yet, but so far there hasn't been anything to deepen the story. Height limit - In the beginning of the game, the height limit is set fairly low, which is kind of a drag when you just want to FLY~ Related to the above, the areas are much smaller than they seem at first, and you'll quickly run into the boundaries, which is kind of a letdown. The game includes custom characters, but quite frankly it SUCKS. Customization has completely downgraded from the first game, which allowed multiple hairstyles and colors, faces types, etc. In Lost Song, you choose a race, one of two hairstyles, one of two haircolors based on race... It's basically choosing from a couple premade characters who all look pretty bland and exactly the same as the people you see in the city. It's much more fun to just play with the main cast. Once again, the music isn't that great, unfortunately. Not terrible, but it doesn't stand out. They should have gotten Kajiura Yuki to come back and do some tracks. Not as many Sword Skills as HF - Granted the game introduced Magic and a lot more passive and battle skills, but the Sword Skill count dropped significantly. Most characters can learn around 5 for each weapon type iirc. That should give you some kind of idea of what they're like. As I've said, they are by no means perfect games, but if you're a fan of SAO and just want to see more of the worlds and interaction with the characters, I'd say go for it. The battles are pretty fun (though the sytem could be deeper in both games), and that's one of the most important things in my opinion. Also playing Dream Drop Distance on Critical and farming bolts for the "collect 1 million bolts" trophy in the original Ratchet and Clank on my Vita. Hoping for the best with sword coast legends. Im back to league of legends again, its been awhile so its interesting again...untill sword coast legends.
