jamesw0102
Just to let you know if you don't want people cheating with rpgxmaker encrypt the game that is what insurgence and omicron does. So I would recommend that to help stop some of the cheating in this game. Edited March 6, 2015 by jamesw0102
Lostelle
No one really "cheats", maybe sometimes people do, but most of us with RPG Maker use it to help others get un-stuck and to find out other glitches / errors with their save files. Tacos
If the game were to be encrypted, that would make it difficult for many people to get their save files fixed, as only those who had authorized access would be able to help. The majority of time, when it's not Dan, it tends to be regular users that need to fix people's save files.

LittleDevilex
Just to let you know if you don't want people cheating with rpgxmaker encrypt the game that is what insurgence and omicron does. So I would recommend that to help stop some of the cheating in this game. Even if we do that it is very easy to decrypt it. Even on insurgence or zeta/omicron. Knight_Teutonic
I used the quick hatch egg cheat on insurgence regardless.
zimvader42
Just to let you know if you don't want people cheating with rpgxmaker encrypt the game that is what insurgence and omicron does. So I would recommend that to help stop some of the cheating in this game. If the game was encripted, some people who have problems with their saves could not be helped so easily (as already mentioned by some other user). Also, by using RPGmaker you can have a double battle against Charlotte and Serra in your free time; don't tell me that isn't great. Is also a great tool to fix your own save if any problem appears, and allows to do quick re-runs of the whole game to catch up with the story, as well as warping quickly from one map to another to avoid excesive backtracking in between episode releases. And that just to name a few. A tool with such potential should not be forbidden, it is just a matter of how people use it. And honestly (and for some reason I don't understand), people prefer to use that cheat engine complicated thing to cheat anyways.
Xiri
Not many of us here wants to 'encrypt' the game anyway.
Commander
Honestly, there'd be no point in encrypting the game. I've only seen a handful of people use cheats with most of them just for speeding up grinding (I have done this for the Pokedex), faster breeding, and money. None of the three really effect the experience that much (maybe the money one, but it's pretty easy to get money after a certain point). Administrators Amethyst Posted March 7, 2015 Administrators Share Posted March 7, 2015 To echo the other comments, I have very little interest in doing this. As they said, it's nearly effortless to decrypt RGSSAD files (which is the simplest encryption for this gen of RM games) but there are also a few benefits to not leaving it encrypted: Users helping others get un-stuck'd Users accessing game files for things like shiny spriting or catching stray pixels (or accessing in-game events to find errors like in the salon) For user mods or personal sprite changes Other fan-game creators who might need a reference Other Essentials developers who might need to check script content It's much easier for a lot of people if I do that, and it ends up feeding back into support from the community.
