Only Numbers are limited. But geez, why so obsessed by Xyz monsters? They aren't the worst not the most spammed/abused mechanic out there... Besides, a quick look at the sheer amount of variety we have in this roleplay (decks completely different from one another, some aren't even Xyz-based) should reassure you...

Sorry the matches I played on YGOPRO are still haunting me. People just spammed 3 xyz's in one turn while I stood there with my synchro deck, just watching how he was spamming the field full of it. Then, you couldn't destroy them 'cause of their special abilities. :(

The more I think about this, the more I think it can be managed despite the sheer amount of people.

The way I arranged it is virually perfect if I do say so myself: "At School" topics are pretty much "social chat time" you guys enjoy why I plan out the next "After School" topic, and as far as After School" topics are concerned, we can do them this way: everyone make one post each stating their actions ("I go there", "I talk to that NPC" etc); after each player has made once such post, I make one big post updating everyone on their progresses and/or the info they got. Then rinse and repeat.

And the PvP part is something you guys can take care of yourselves thanks to DN, leaving to me only the big "boss fights" with rogue Number Holders. I think this can work out just fine.

If it makes anyone feel better, I'm pretty sure I'll be the Tristan of the RP. I actually had to watch a tutorial video to remember the different phases.

You should've seen me duel against Tomas the first time though...

Ymora is chaotic enough and that's also dealing with mechanics of pokemon, something we're all familiar with. Tracking Yu-gi-oh mechanics and all the other players will be very difficult alongside the isues of running an RP as is. Granted the use of the numbers holders and protagonists idea makes things easier, it's still gonna be hard to deal with this many people.

True xD I'm glad I'm not hosting the biggest RP anymore xD

Also it's 3.30 AM so I should probably go to sleep. If anyone wants to duel I'm available on Sunday.

I'm pretty incompetent about my battle skills, but I'm rather busy this weekend so I probably won't get much battling done over the weekend. There's something I'd kind of like you guys to know before we start. If you want to interact with my PC (especially when I'm not on), please make a little note at the top or bottom of your post. It makes me be able to respond a lot faster and not have to read through all the posts and accidentally miss it. That's only during times when there are a ton of posts going on.

So, I have been having a couple of matches with bote and Kaito and I realized that I am really incompetent at this game.

I'm sure you'll get better in time. I would try practicing against everyone and keep trying.

I'll be on DN for probably another half an hour before I go to bed if others want to duel still.

Well...I'm probably the best duelist here. So...

Basicly what that dude said. Its sorta like pokemon battling where once you learn what cards do and their combos, (and a good, balanced, consistent 40-42 card deck helps) you get good at it. This is how I got so strong with my other main, Twilight (which I'm not using in this rp because I want to try something new).

Someone seems awfully confident. XP

But no worries Hiss. Bote seems to have experience and I played for a while beforehand. It takes practice is all. ^^

Yeah. Practice makes perfect seems to be the general rule for improvement at these kinds of games. ^_^

Well...till then I'll just keep on struggling and moving on.

On another note, I think I am falling for the Gem Knight and Ritual Beast Tamer Archetypes...not because they decimated me. It's because I love the more moe monsters in the archetypes. I'm looking at you: Lara, Wen, Lapis, Lazuli, and Lapis Lazuli.

I had originally planned on using Constellars but once I saw they were taken, I scavenged around for a new archetype and was so hyped when I found Tellarknights. They're practically sister archetypes. Also, you have excellent taste in archs.

But yeah, I'd love for Monika and Sidus to be friends. It's the perfect combo! However, I am kind of a novice (just like Sidus) but I like to think I'm a fast learner.

I am kind of a novice too... Constellars were in my first deck so I really wanted to use them here (actually now I think Photon would have worked better, but Constellars are still special and fit more the character).

Question: I have a Stellarknight in my extra deck (It's stellarknight Constellar Diamond). I might just change it, but, since it is a Constellar, it could have some good support form the other cards I am using... do you want to be the only one that has a Diamond in the deck (as it's a stellarknight) or could we just keep it both (if you have it) to show this friendship (it depends on what the first IC topic is going to be actually) between Sidus and Monika?

I'm used to the good ol' original mechanics like most people. I did keep up with 5DS and I bought one of the online YGO games on Xbox live when I had it so I also learned a bit about synchro. I even rememer managaing to clutch a double duel by comboing to summon the demon synchro dragon, the one that pretty much opposes Starlight thematically which made me happy.

That said, Xyz monsters kinda had me confused but I think Chronomaly is one of the easiest decks to pick up, which is probs why thomas said it was popular.

Are you adding them to the Extra deck? They're like fusion monsters, they don't get put in the normal deck you draw from.

This is actually a good idea, so I'll go ahead and make it a rule.

Listen up people! Since the "At School" IC topics will be all about interacting with others, and since cross interactions between 27 people can be pretty messy to keep track of, when you make a post in which you interact with someone MAKE SURE YOU INSERT A NOTE, A THE TOP OF YOUR POST, STATING WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO. It will make it so much easier to keep track of everything that is going on! I will make sure to repeat this rule in the OP of the first IC topic, to make sure that nobody misses it.

Your deck has the potential to be one of the strongest in this RP, but as I said in our private conversation it is also tricky to use. It will take a while to get used to it. Only practice will help you, so good luck!

Yup, that's exactly why I said that. One of the reasons why Xyz monsters have become so ubiquitous is that decks focused on Rank 4 and 5 plays are really intuitive: Konami explicitly stated it was part of a strategy to attract new players to the game and, sure enough, it seems to have worked.
