fireheart4560
Well, first off... if this is a league of 18 gym leaders... and around half the gyms are outside the city with the grand gates locked up. How do trainers even beat the league let alone how does it run? Why did AME accept a ghost as a gym leader? Why is she allowing the orphanage to harbour 2 gym leaders, an e4 and.... a champion? Why didn't sapphira take Charlotte and Laura into her care since technically she is the legal guardian of theM? Am I missing something? madf0x
I kinda relate it to a similar headcanon I've had for the main games(that have been partially supported by the anime), being that there are multiple gyms all over the place, and multiple avenues to get there. I.e howd those victory road people managed to get to victory road(and ergo have 8 badges) with only two pokemon. The games just take a more linear approach to show YOUR progress and path to get there. Kinda like how we cant surf on poisoned water, but Cain does no problem without surf 'cause grimer. If we were playing the game from his angle, the paths and whatnot would look totally different. For shade, either Ame knows more about him than we do, or being a sentient ghost he took over an abandoned gym and no one saw reason to deny his badges. The orphanage case is a bit of a stretch, but the Dr DOES have legal authority(though has committed likely countless crimes and should be arrested), so it's possible the league doesnt have the authority to get them out and in the mean time were using reserves ala Aya after corey. Hard to tell with Saphira but we don't really see her full personality and motives yet, only her claims and actions.

The whole different route aspect is a stretch since the whole league can't take that into account With every trainer.
madf0x
What do you mean? Its not like the league is the government. They aren't responsible for the quality of roads. If you can't make it then you don't deserve to be champion. At least that was always the point of victory road. Im just saying, that we playing the world as a game are only going to ever see the game mechanics blocking us from progression. If the reborn world was real life, thered be tons of ways to get past the obstacles. Not to mention a lot of obstacles that hinder the player are entirely momentary. No one ever said the grand gates were the only way in or out(the player didnt use them to get out afterall). Not to mention its been repeatedly stated that a lot of the degradation has occurred over only the past decade. The gates used to be open, the railnet system was running, water was blue, more gyms were active inside the city, etc.

For point 1. play more of the game, and you will learn more about it point 2. Cos Shade was the best ghost type trainer... i spose point 3. since they're underage without a legal adult taking care of them, it isnt exactly correct to let them wander around etc and point 4. i guess cos Sapphira was busy doing shit for her gym
Helia
Well, first off... if this is a league of 18 gym leaders... and around half the gyms are outside the city with the grand gates locked up. How do trainers even beat the league let alone how does it run? I was wondering this too. How could the league run well if the only ways to Spinel Town and Route 1 were kind of 'secret' hard to reach locations? Then while thinking about it, I thought the ingame time is really slow and it's just been like a week since the station blew up, and there were still trains going from Peridot to Spinel Town. Then I realized under the Yureyu building was closed off for nearly 10 years thanks to the earthquakes so that's also not possible. Spinel Town must've not had any visitors from Reborn for over 10 years Then also the thought, if Charlotte has an official Gym up in Calcenon, but had to live in the Orphanage, how did she manage to travel those distances every time a trainer came by her gym? Does she or Dr.Connal have access to Fly? If Charlotte has her own official gym, where is Noel's (and possibly Anna's, if she is a leader and not E4) gym? How did I reach the Grand Gates faster than Cain and Radomus when they left before me and I never saw them along route 1? Sometimes your life is much easier off without questioning the game.... I can answer part 1 of your question. My best guess'd be that only the keenest of trainers that rear to go and gettem would discover the way to Spinel town, and subsequently, Agate, Labradorra and Calceon... oh as well as Ametrine

deadpool848
Reborn seems to have a different way of running things than other regions, I'm just surprised that the league is still running durring the current crisis with Team Meteor. Yash
The thing with Saphira is that even though she is old enough to be the legal guardian for her sisters, there is a lot of paperwork involved and it requires signatures and permissions from the doctor.. That makes it difficult for her to get them out of the orphanage.. As for why Ame allows the doctor to keep Noel and Anna with him, is that in-game Ame isn't a government official, rather the league manager.. She doesn't have the power to stop the laws of the Reborn region.. Atleast that is what makes sense.. I could be wrong..

Now seriously: i don't know the exact answers (probably no one aside Ame knows ) but i can guess, so... 1) Like other people said, before the "crisis" started there were probably other (more conventional) means to leave/enter the city. 2) This is Reborn so i can guess no one managed to beat all the Gyms/Elite Four (with maybe Lin being the first one to "succeed") because too difficult. 3) I don't (well no one does) enough about Shade (and his ties to in-game Ame) to answer. 4) Like others said, because it would be "illegal" to assault the orphanage and take them (and probably she didn't even know they were treated badly). 5) I'm wondering that myself, she is a legal adult so why didn't she take them in custody? Qaaz
Do you guys realise that for the past 10 years the Reborn League and the whole region was under disasters/destruction from Meteors? There was not really challengers and we the players are the 1st after all those years that Ame herself invite on the league she tries along to the Region to rebuilt? So lets take it from the beginning 10 years ago some things happen: Some Gym Leaders & E4 members died / murdered from Team Meteor (for example Charlottes parents -her mother was the Calcenon Gym Leader) we can list lot of deaths like Coreys wife, or Sigmunds wife/sister/whatever (I don't go for details b/c of spoilers for the new players on the forum) Besides those some other things from Meteor happened like the Grand Gates, EQ, Poisoned Water, Railnet etc So as others before me said no one has challenging the league b/c all of the region was on pieces not only as region but the leaders/E4 too The new Gym Leaders like Charlotte was never before Leaders b/c after the death of their parrents legaly right Sigmund take'em. As Ame said already Sapphira was already on the try to get the orphans but the papers take some time to be ready As for the rest the game is still ongoing we will learn more on the future episodes

If they're worthy, they'll figure out the rest. Incidentally, a lot of people don't, which is why there are so relatively few trainers in places like Chrysolia, the Wasteland, and Route 1. *Spoilers. Although the short answer is that Shade was referred and proved adequate to hold the position *As was said, Saphira has tried to adopt them. Ultimately it's Sigmund's discretion if she's deemed a worthy guardian though. Uh oh... Then also the thought, if Charlotte has an official Gym up in Calcenon, but had to live in the Orphanage, how did she manage to travel those distances every time a trainer came by her gym? Only... Sigmund generally doesn't often allow battles. I designed it with the idea that there was an arena in the basement, but the player never saw it. * It's a big route...? They stopped for lunch? Ehhh, NPCs do that all the time, don't worry about it.

Maybe a timeline of all major events the past 10 years and then the protagonist arrives and the story then is (still) undecided. Would save a lot of questions haha. Like when did Cal become the gym leader? How old is he, anyway? Must be around the protagonists' age give or take a few years if Vicky has a crush on him. PsychoticPudu
I always thought that the thing with Shade was something like in-game Ame going to the plant for some reason, finding Shade, having a quick battle with him, and inviting him to the league. I don't think she really minds who the leaders are, just what can they do.
