TheIronButtcheek
So I was anticipating X and Y just as much as anyone else. Naturally, I bought it pretty soon after it came out. What I was expecting was a world that really seemed like a 3d worldspace, with intricate detail in every pixel. I expected a smack-in-the-face storyline, to really make me think about life. I expect a bunch of new kick-A Pokemon to bring me weeks of fun. What I get: A linear game with bad 3d graphics, a story about "friendship" and "save the Pokemon, hug the trees", and a bunch of cute little Pokemon that can't do sh!t. WHY, NINTENDO?! WHYYYY?! In my opinion, Reborn is 10000000000 times better than X and Y. And it's free. bruh.
Sapphire
I guess you missed the genocide plot then and the Nazi symbolism. Reborn is good, but it's quality is nothing compared to the canon games.
TheIronButtcheek
Oh my sweet Jesus... Pokemon Nazis... "The new game will take place in the Holocaustia region..." Plz don't report me for that, I swear... Pokemon Reborn the game had more political incorrect-ness than that...
zimvader42
I haven't played XY by myself and thus I don't have a base to actually argue wether the gameplay is good or not (I've only watched let's-plays so far), but I don't share that opinion about the pokemon of this gen at all. I'll give it to you that the story is quite not that good if we are trying to set the bar with reborn's story; but then again, practically all, if not all, of the main series games' stories are beaten by reborn, like, ASAP. And well mentioned by Sapphire, there's that kind of genocidistic plot for team flare: I mean the guys are basically attempting to kill everyone who's not with them. Despite Lysandre's fetish obsession with beauty and stuff....yeah, killing everyone who's not on your side has always been a decent villain plot in my book. But it is not just about hugging trees either. Actually if it was about hugging trees, you'd have to hug Trevenants, thing that not only would be kinda awesome, but you can sort of do already with Amie :3 ....anyway not the point. But about the pokemon, dunno if just me, but I don't see just a "bunch of cute little pokemon that can't do shit", and despite I could stay here talking hours about therms of artistic design and stuff, which is what I like the most about pokemon, I'll resume why I think you're wrong in a word: Greninja. It ain't cute, it's badass; it ain't little, it is almost human-sized; it ain't shit-doer, it...well, you know what greninja does, don't we all? And not just Greninja: Goodra for instance, it IS cute AND it can fuck your shit upside down, specially in a rain team (at least mine does). Also looks at Diggersby, Sylveon, Aegislash, Trevenant/Gourgeist, Klefki, Wyvern, and so on and on... I'll give you Dedenne, but even Dedenne has sometimes a role for nuzzle and stuff. PS: just ocurred to me but, now that I think of it, isn't a game ruining your life kinda improbable? I mean, the chances man, what are the chances? madf0x
Yeah I really liked XY, it was linear yes, but linear in the way all pokemon games are secretly linear. The 3D was a much welcomed overhaul compared to previous gens that have been cited for awhile now for having archaic controls. Gen 6 also utterly redefined the competitive scene. Maybe not for the better, but a lot of the new pokemon really changed things. I mean we have a new typing and everything. Gotta keep in mind a large chunk of new stuff wasn't new pokemon, but changing old ones too with megas and what not. The plot line was fairly standard for pokemon games, except a tad higher cause the whole Flare conflict didn't feel like a mandatory side quest like previous gens. Yeah reborn's story is better, but it's also a story geared for more mature audiences, which you happen to be a member of. Its kiinda unfair to compare two plot lines when one is for your demographic and the other isn't. Edited March 17, 2015 by madf0x
OpalWardMusicFan
Okay, I am weighing in here and placing my proverbial foot down. You clearly let yourself get overhyped. This Generation surpasses all others aside from Generation 4's Johto remakes and Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness in terms of graphics. X and Y are beautiful, but are far from perfect. Yes, I will admit that the story was too cheery oftentimes, I will also say this: Clearly you have not used Yveltal, Delphox, Greninja, Pyroar, Noivern, Goodra, Meowstic, Tyrantrum, Amaura, Sylveon, and many of the Megas. This set of games has great music too. BW2 had the WORST sprite quality. No need to be hostile, man.
