Seismitoad

I went through the game loving it as usual got to where i need dive went to teach it to my seismitoad and guess what

HE CANT LEARN IT...... so im like ok big deal teach it to the buizel i got from the raid on the old lady and said to my self when i get waterfall ill teach it to seismitoad and guess what

HE CANT LEARN THAT EITHER.... he is a physical water type the unova version of Swampert but cant learn 2 of the 3 water HMs some one plz fix just make it so cause i dont wanna go through the game being under lvl having to constantly switch out my toad... i love the toad but he cant learn nothing so i beg of you i will get on my knees let him learn it plz

First of all, welcome to the forums :) If you have time, please introduce yourself in the Grand Hall.

But yeah, like smeargletail said above, Seismitoad cannot learn Waterfall or Dive in the main series games (which I found quite surprising myself) - so there's no reason for it to be able to learn those moves in Reborn.

It'd be awesome if we didn't need to use HM moves at all. Wasting precious moveslots for the sole purpose of getting around the region is even more aggravating than normal in this game, where your team always has to be at its best.

Well... IIRC, HM moves behave like TMs now - so you could get rid of it as soon as you're done using it.

Agreed, Ive always preferred the item based route that Insurgence takes.

yeah but sometimes you need to delete level up moves and getting them back is a pain, also im using my barbaracle as my strength, rock smash, dive and probably waterfall so its kinda cumbersome. The insurgence method is more user friendly and i prefer it tbh, tho the hms makes for a nice plot device and gym leaders giving you pickaxes and and scuba diving suits is kinda weird imo

HMs aren't a huge bother anymore since they're erasable. now, please main games start doing this.

Seismotaod's fat ass isn't swimming up any waterfalls soon and being a fat swamp toad he's probably not used to diving into low depths anyway. I kind of get why he doesn't learn it. He's not bad though, mine has been pretty useful in fact.

I personally found Insurgence's method to be uh... lazy. Not that I find HMs not annoying, but what's a Pokemon game without HMs?

Since HMs are now erasable in Reborn, you can just temporarily replace a TM move and reteach it once the obstacle is gone.

HMs like Surf, Waterfall, Strength and Fly are actually some of my favorite moves, I use them in battle a lot so I don't mind those.

1 Option I have tho, for a good Water/Ground Type replacement for Seismitoad is that there's a Mudkip to be found in Byxbysion Wasteland, Swampert is one of my best team members ever.

yea but i mean why not just allow them cause seeing that the whole field affect thing is in the real game and i swear there has been cases that certain trainers x shelly.... x has move that they cant normally learn unless egg bred or move tutored so why not just let the fat frog learn dive and waterfall plus i dont understand in the anime ash catches his palpitoad under water! so come on

i gonna have to use the swampert even though i been through so much with my toad oh well bye bye WaterWorks the Seismitoad

nvm i really dont want to grind to 70 the mudkip since im done so far since i be M3G4 T3RR4 im gonn have to go through with the new waterfall dive life and just use my floatzel as a slave

Volt, instead of triple-posting, try editing your post if you have anything else you wanted to say after you made the post unless someone posted after you.

Anyways, it shouldn't be a big issue if one mon can't use a certain HM/TM. There are plenty of options available, such as the Floatzel you stated above.

Well... If Waterfall or Dive was its egg moves, yeah it would obviously make sense but its not the case (which still surprises me honestly).
