It start in Galaxy not far away at all, actually it's this Galaxy, right here,Milky tit!

I was on my bed at night with nothing to do just watching what TV have.then I found like a cable TV or something,It showing Pokmon the Movie something,at first I just thing "just a cartoon".and then I watch another Pokemon Movie again but not the same Movie(that one with Shaymin),my mom came and told me to go to sleep, another day I look for that Pokemon Movie in the internet to watch it because I didn't finish it.

I was thinking I never seen that Pokemon before(Shaymin) then go search for it and Let's play pop up and it is let's play of Pokemon Patinum version.I never heard of that game before at that time I though Pokemon have just Ruby/Sepphire/Emerald/Fire Red/Leaf Green and that it.I start watching that let's play and I start to get more interest in it.so I try download Black Version and play it on ds emulator and that was super fun!I never know that Pokemon is this fun to play!when X/Y trailer came out I setting my goal to get a 3DS and now I have it.I still playing Pokemon to this day and I think I won't stop playing it too.

so that is my story, you may find wrong gramma in there or use wrong word in wrong situation but Eng is not my first language.

so what is your story?how did you become Pokemon Fan?

I got the original Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow and all the following games at home, I first became a fan at a very young age as I became addicted to the game and loved playing it, when Christmas came around at the time all I wanted was pokemon games (in that Christmas it was Pokémon Stadium), as soon as I found that game I couldn't care about everything else still wrapped I just walked upstairs with the game and started playing it, as I got older and continued playing the games my addiction for the game grew, eventually it got to the point when a new pokemon game came out I HAD to play it I loved pokemon that much. basically played the first ever pokemon games never turned back from there

Pokemon was only thing i had as a childhood. As a small kid, i didn't really know other franchises except for Pokemon and Sonic and mabye some dragon ball gba games.

For that, i was only playing emerald, leaf green and maybe red(lost memories). So yeah, that's kinda how i got into pokemon.

it was when i saw it in stores as soon as it came out... i thought... why not give it a shot! i got red first... and i played the hell out of it! ever since then, i became a fan of pokemon, however i did miss out on gen. two but i made up for that when soul silver and heart gold came out.

I played all the pokemon games after diamond and pearl, up to b2w2, but then I was a noob, going for all the legendaries only. That changed after a guy 6-0 d me with his dd feraligatr in X and Y even though I had a freaking Geomancy xerneas. That opened for me a gate of competitive battling. From that point I call myself a real pokemon fan.

(And I stumbled across Reborn on yahoo answers)

My friend showed me a Pokemon Card of Rapidash and I was all like "OMG IS SO BOOTYFUL."

Later, I watched a Pokemon Yellow Walkthrough by Marriland and got totally excited at the thought of having a bunch of totally awesome animal things fighting for me, and one Christmas my dad got me Pokemon Platinum! I was a total noob, and half of my team were legendaries, but it was fun anyways :)

I lost some my original team when my sister deleted her file which had my Giratina and Dialga in it for some reason (I don't know why I split them up in the first place...), and I lost Empoleon, Rapidash, Metagross and Palkia when I lent Black Version to the same friend and never got it back (I had forgotten I'd even given it to her... too late now, I've moved since then :/)

I liked the anime when I was a little kid, mainly Team Rocket and ghost pokemon. By that time I didn't know it was based off a game, neither did I ever see a pokemon game in my birth country, so I assumed it was just a fun show.

Then when I grew up a bit more I realised there was A LOT of pokemon merchandise everywhere: caps, cards, toys, etc. I was like "ok cool" but by that time my love for the anime started to fade. It was by the time of the final dawn season, if I remember correctly. Then I spent like 5-6 years happily not even remembering pokemon existed, and when I happened to find the anime on the TV while zapping I was like "lol this is garbage for little kids how did I watch this shit". A year or so later I made a friend that knows a lot of games, and then another friend that knows a lot of other games. Together, they know EVERY single fucking game in existance, and of course, pokemon. They used an emulator to play hack roms and they were this kind of kid that actually grew up having pokemon games to play, unlike me that only had the anime.

Then sometime after that I discovered bulbapedia and wikidex and used them to find out about pokemon themselves. I got a growing curiosity for pokemon designs, and evolutionary families, and stuff. Not moves, or the games, or anything, just the pokemon and their types. I still didn't watch the anime or wanted to play the games. But then one day we were talking about pokemon hack ROMs and my friends suggested me each a pokemon game to start with the franchise: one of them told me about Pokemon Light Platinum, and the other one told me about Reborn. The last sounded like the most interesting so I downloaded it to my computer (that was two years ago I think?) and that's the story of how Reborn became my first pokemon game, and I couldn't be more happy about it, now that I know what the official games are like.

My older brothers got Pokemon Blue and Red back in the day which i played aswell while without understanding much about them, then i watched the first Pokemon episode as soon as it came up on tv in my country and my reaction at the end of the episode was WOW. I proceeded to beg for Pokemon Stadium after that, which i got and was just awesome, and it went on from there with me playing every Pokemon game released before gen 4 since i would never touch a nintendo DS and ended up missing everything from that point onwards.

Now back in 2014 i was browsing MMO-Champion (a site primarily for World of Warcraft) and some guy was asking for cool RPGs to play with some other guy recommending him Pokemon Reborn. so i decided that it would be nice to see how much things have changed in these games, i also never thought of playing Pokemon fangames, and the game ended up being really good.

A good friend of mine showed me his Gameboy and his Red version... about 15 years ago.

...It amazed me so much, that I literally begged my parents for my own GB and Pokemon Blue. That's how it all started...

I bought Emerald for my Phat Nintendo DS after seeing my friends Dylan and Steven playing Ruby and Sapphire in the schoolyard. They were complaining about spending 30 bucks on a Pokemon game. I got it and then became best friends with someone else who had Emerald. We would speak in code when talking about Pokemon of course, because it wasn't cool.

Much before that, my brother played Red on his Gameboy when we had a Macintosh LC. He had a hacked level 100 Charmander with Thunder, Blizzard and Fire Blast. I would play with his Gameboy when it had no battery power and pretend to play games. I did eventually get to play it, but I never got past Mt. Moon. Then my brother sold the Gameboy for 15 bucks.

My mom was a school teacher and, (idk why but) one day she rented the VHS of the first few Pokemon anime episodes to show to her class. I had gone with her to her school that day for some reason (might've been too sick to go to my own class or leave at home or something) and first saw the series there..

And decided that it was stupid and I hated it.

Mostly because it was way too mainstream. Six year old Ame was a hipster. A hipster before being a hipster was cool, even. Get on my level.

...Anyway, then it became super popular at my school too, and I was really annoyed because I didn't see how anyone could like those weird creatures and the boys in my class kept writing dumb Pokemon stories for weekly story-sharing and I was just really over hearing about it and wanted it to go away.

Then over the next summer a friend I'd made back in preschool moved near me and we hung out one day. He had Blue version and let me play it a little bit. He was just going through Viridian Forest for the first time and when I was playing it I happened to find and catch a Pikachu, one of the few Pokemon I really knew. So I was really excited about that for some reason and made my dad run out and by me the game the next day.

And it was really just all over for me from there.

I was given Pokémon Crystal as a 4 year old by my uncle. He loved them and used to compete statewide in tournaments when on breaks in the Navy. I liked the game, but when I first saw Pokémon 4 Ever, with Pokémon like Celebi and Suicune, I became addicted. 13 years later, here I am.

The first video game I ever had was Pokemon Yellow, and I loved it! I've had most of the games since and that's where my addiction started, that and my inexplicable love for Nidoking. A lot of my friends are the same and we all went through that phase at around age 12 when Pokemon was 'not cool' but we all still loved playing, and now I'm at uni it's suddenly cool to like Pokemon again!

My younger brother used to tell me about this cartoon called Pokemon around 15 years ago. I had no clue what he was on about. Some time afterwards I was being a moron in the school playground. I ended up with broken legs and tried to walk it off, resulting in multiple spiral fractures and a 2 week stay in hospital. Coincidentally a school friend who had just moved to another school 6 months previously joined the ward I was in with his own leg issues. There, he lent me Pokemon Blue. I played it, I remember he was in Mt Moon with a Charmeleon. I did not have any idea what I was meant to be doing or what this game entailed. I quickly swapped it out for Super Mario and for the first time in my life, I completed that game. I do recall being quite emotional at that feat. Funny how I remember that now....

Anyway, I also started watching the animated programme in the hospital. When I was finally discharged, my brother had got my parents to buy him the Red version. We both carried on watching the Ash on his adventures, it was a ritual. I was off from school for a year, in order to recuperate. My brother also briefly got interested in TCG too and showed me with some pride his shiny cards. That summer, Pokemon Yellow was released and I pleaded with my father to buy me that game with a GBC. So he did, had to use my incapacitated state to my advantage right? I spent most of that summer completing Yellow. I do remember racking up over a 100+ hours of gameplay. No Missingo cheat after all.

Several years later my brother stole the Crystal version from a friend's house. It was in French, so he didn't want it, but seeing as I know the language I quickly set about playing it. It was pretty difficult juggling my then severe addiction to Pokemon and studying for GCSEs, which for those of you not UK based, are the final exams taken at the end of secondary/high school.

I fell in love with Pokemon all those years ago. Even though life has moved on from the simple times of high school, I've always managed to get around to playing one of the versions when possible. Now that I'm a lot older and shit gets real, I don't have the time nor the inclination to devote so much of my resources to playing games, but I still love the franchise and always will.

My brother was a big fan of the anime back in the day, and he showed to me. And we enjoyed it a lot.

Too bad he became the "original 151 are the only real pokes" type of guy.

I discovered the games much later :I

started in middle school before the first movie. i first got into it from trading some food in my spanish class to a guy knee-deep in it. i didnt want the food but it was something. well it start off from there. got into the pokemon league when it first started up the promos help in trading.

well, some time later social services took me from home and placed me in foster care. red version kept me sane. then i went to a group home where my sister came and gave me silver some time later nearly choked to death by another kid in the home and was given to my older brother to take care of me. my parents got me stadium in which i played religiously to keep him from driving me insane.

all in all; pokemon has got me threw the worst of my life and i know i will never get rid of it: to me it is an escape, a place where i can "dive" into it, i can see and smell everything that is happening, i can "feel" the atomsphere when fighting legends and heroes.

tl;dr: pokemon saved me from this fucked up world by giving me a sanctuary so that my mind wouldn't fall into despair.

I started by watching the orginal show when I was arround 3, then my older coisin who had a gameboy was playing Pokemon Red and I was watching him play. When I got home I asked my dad for one and he got me and my brother a gameboy color and 1 Pokemon Yellow, I spent a lot of nights trying to beat Brock with an overleveled Pikachu (at that age I didn't understand english nor did I understand the typing advantage/disadvantage well), but that was pretty much how I got into pokemon. Latter my dad got me Pokemon Gold and I was offically addicted ^^
