Helia
Watching a lot of TV, I watched the anime anytime it was on, and then suddenly people at school started popping up with these cards and same as with Yu Gi Oh I was terribly disappointed in the card game. Just doesn't make sense..... Anyway, I obviously learnt more about Pokemon from the anime and it was pretty much my favorite show growing up, and only like two years ago I downloaded emulators for Pokemon Blue and Crystal on my phone, didn't know much about what I was doing but I had fun and beat the elite 4. Then went on to Emerald, had a lot of fun as well, followed by Platinum, Black, and now Reborn
Azure NightStriker
It pretty much started in 2003 with the anime, where I would have my mum record the episodes on VCR so that I could watch them over and over. I used to have several episodes memorized, dialogue and everything. Then, about four years later, I found a website which could play Pokemon gold. I loved it immediately and played it non-stop whenever I got on a computer. Although I played it so much, I could never beat it as I was so dumb and didn't have a single ice-type move, meaning I never beat Lance. I then dropped Pokemon games until 2010, when I found out about RSE and FRLG. I played through Fire Red, and for the first time in my life, I beat a Pokemon game. I was literally jumping for joy for half an hour. Looking back at it now I was so dumb . But hey, everyone starts somewhere, right? I then went on beating other games like Black 2, White, Emerald and Gold (FINALLY!). In 2013, I started getting into YouTube and began looking for good Poke-tubers. This is when I first found Shofu. BY FAR one of my favorite YouTubers of all time, and it was because of him I got into Pokemon Reborn and Competitive Battling. And so we come to the present. My knowledge of the metagame is nowhere near complete, but it's enough to allow me to play through Reborn and other fan games without ripping my hair out. BlueCinder3423
I got my first exposure to the game when i was really young, probably around 4 years old, watching my sister play the original game Pokemon Red, then when she finally got tired of playing it over and over, she finally let me play it and here I am now
EluriaMendes
Pokemon the First Movie was coming out and everyone was buzzing about it. I begged to get the BK Gold cards, and watched the movie. I loved it, but it wasn't until some years later, 'round my 13th? 14th? birthday that I got my first game system, with Pokemon Emerald. I played it for months and months. Good times, 'til it got stolen.
Peepeepoopoo
My first exposure to Pokemon was some old video game. I don't remember the name of it, but you played as Pikachu in a side scrolling platformer type thing. You could also cheat through the game by pressing select I believe. I was pretty young back then and had no idea what I was playing. That was when I was living in Saudi. I moved to Canada and started watching the cartoons. A few years later my parents bought me a gameboy advance and Pokemon Emerald and the rest just followed.
