heloo5t5
I wanna make one, so help me make this better! 1) Aggron-mega Curse, Heavy Slam, ??, ?? 2) Heatran (Flashfire) leftovers Lava plume, protect, toxic, earth power 3) Bisharp (defiant) Shuca Berry Swords Dance, Sucker punch, iron head, knock off 4) Metagross (clear body) air balloon Ice punch, bullet punch, earthquake, zen heatbutt 5) Ferrothorn (iron barbs) rocky helmet Gyro ball, leech seed, stealth rocks, seed bomb? 6) Scizor (technician) muscle band Swords Dance, bullet punch, bug bite, brick break What about a scarfed magnezone? Or skarmory? So many options Edited March 26, 2015 by heloo5t5
Chim
- Give Ferrothorn protect or power whip instead of Seed Bomb - Replace Aggron with Scarfed Magnezone - Mega Metagross I would prefer Skarmory over Scizor to add more bulk but that's a personal choice. heloo5t5
But my Ferrothorn sets up rocks so a skarmory without rocks is pretty useless What should be skarmory's moveset? Never used one before Edited March 26, 2015 by heloo5t5
NickCrash
Nobody said Skarmory without SR. Even so, it's far from useless. Try posting EV spreads and the role each member plays in the team. In this way you'll find out how to play better (not just brute force) and help us with suggestion-giving. Anyway, Steel is an easy monotype to use. So many options! Currently your team is so weak to ground attacks, Skarmory could save the day. The way I see it now, you have 4 guys doing the same thing: bulky attack. Heatran stays. Make it a specially defensive tank. Give it lefties. Bisharp is a great option as a fast sweeper. Works wonders with lum berry. Skarmory will be your physical tank and/or SR setter. Rocky Helmet. Now you have lots of nice options to use:M-Metagross is huge for every team. Usually the opponent needs to sacrifice 1 or 2 pokemon to get rid of it. Gives you momentum. Magnezone with a scarf is also nice. Make sure it has magnet pull. Otherwise use Analytic with Air balloon/Specs and full speed. Specially offensive Lucario is a powerhouse that deals with any problem. Life Orb or Expert Belt. Also priority. Empoleon is another special attacker that can absorb fire attacks and use SR, Scald and other utility moves. Scizor can be used in many forms. Mega, Band, SD, Life Orb, Defogger, etc. Works like glue. Another Scarfer that works wonders is Excadrill. Can work as a rapid spinner too. If you decide not to use Metagross, Jirachi is another guy that can be unpredictable, or just go for the paraflinch. It all depends on what you want to do. heloo5t5
Isn't there a way to run an offensive skarmory? I seem to recall... With a berry of some sort
NickCrash
Never use an offensive Skarmory.
heloo5t5
How and why?
NickCrash
It makes no sense to use Skarmory as an offensive mon, because it has huge potential to work as a defensive wall, and there are other mons that do the offensive part much better than it does. The most common and most effective set is this Skarmory @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet Ability: Sturdy EVs: 248 HP / 48 Atk / 212 Def Impish Nature - Roost - Stealth Rock - Defog - Brave Bird / Toxic / Whirlwind Try this Lucario @ Life Orb Ability: Steadfast EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Nasty Plot - Aura Sphere - Flash Cannon - Vacuum Wave
Chevaleresse
This is my steel mono. heloo5t5
Totally forgot about lucario Thanks nickcrash and king murdoc, I'll try them out for sure. A lot of people use jirachi these days on showdown. Should I run one? If I should then should it be more offensive or support, like with wish? Edited March 27, 2015 by heloo5t5
NickCrash
Jirachi can fill in many spots. It really depends on what your team needs. I've seen defensive wish passing Jirachi, the classic t-wave/body slam + iron head + serene grace one that basically guarantees free turns (I think paralysis is 1/4 chance, and flinch from iron head 6/10 which gives us 85% chance to paraflinch). Place a Zen Headbutt and a filler move of your choice (usually protect or u-turn). Protect for certain recovery, u-turn for kept momentum and bug coverage. A special Jirachi is also a choice, but I haven't encountered any.
