Bobby got up himself and hopped over to the fridge, investigating the contents himself. He saw exactly what he had lived off of for the past few years and hailed the unexpectedly familiar sight. "Dude, you are a true gourmet" Bobby yelled over his shoulder. He grabbed a few microwavable meals and got to work preparing. True to their purpose they were ready soon and Bobby handed one plate off to Krys and another to Takeshi. "Enjoy some meals from the Microwave master. I've been living off this shit for years, Gorgeous." Bobby looked around as he munched on his own meal. "Anyone else while I'm up or naw?" he said after swallowing a hefty bite.

"No thanks, I'd rather shoot myself..." Vixen grumbled as she walked off. She didn't really want to be around the group anymore, she had enough of people for the day... and probably for the year if she could help it. She lifted up one of the mattresses under her arm and went in search of a quiet place all of her own. She wasn't particularly interested in eating anything in this place, she had her own rations in her pack. Best to not rely on another when you are already self-sufficient.

"Oh."

That was the best Kindle could muster. She wasn't really sure what to do with this information. Again she wondered if she needed to fight these monster things like Mr. Scraggly did. She kind of zoned out for a while, letting her mind process the information.

"So, what should I do?" She said finally, "Like, do I have to fight monsters like that beoar?"

She was just some girl who got herself in the hospital from an explod- Oh, shit, the hospital! Came the realization.

"And, um, I kinda sneaked out of the hospital earlier and should probably go back before someone comes looking for me." She said meekly.

Krys got up from the bed and started walking towards the kitchen. "Great, thanks Takeshi. And yes, I'll pick up something for you. In fact I'll get something for everyone." She went into the kitchen and started rummaging through he fridge. She found a box of leftover chinese food, some microwaveable meals and some cold cuts. She took the cold cuts and some bread and mustard, so that they can make sandwiches. In the cupboards she found some chips and biscuits. That's when Bobby came in and started preparing the ready made meals. She made a few sandwiches and took them and a few plates out to the others. Bobby came in with the meals. Krys took one plate. "Thanks Bobby. They smell great. Anybody want to share? I won't be eating the whole thing." She took one of the plates and a few pieces of meat and rice from the meals along with one sandwich and sat on her mattress and ate quietly, while the others had their conversations. She was too tired to participate. She would just eat and slowly drift off to sleep.

"There goes the tsundere acting all tsuntsun again." Nagi spoke in response to Vixen's remarks. She was about to turn to finally take a long-desired shower when she heard the red-headed girl meekly realizing that she needed to get back to the hospital.

Nagi sighed and turned. "Red, I can get you back to the hospital in silence under five minutes if nobody else feels like helping out. You will have to give me the general direction from here, though...and you'll have to hold on tight when we go."

Takeshi dug in eagerly, tearing apart the cheap microwave dinner. Mouth still partially full, he gestured with his fork as he spoke. "Well, I guess you don't HAVE to fight monsters." He swallowed, making him a bit easier to understand, but continued to gesture with the utensil. "You don't have a contract or anything, so technically you could just forget about your powers and fighting monsters and all that. I wouldn't, though. I mean, this life might not look like much" -this was accompanied by a sweeping gesture toward the rest of the building -"but it is. . . fantastic. I don't know how else to describe it. Getting to wield this kind of power, building it up over time, fighting these monsters. . . Some people look for meaning throughout their lives, trying to find something real to do. With this, you save another person every time you drive away or kill a beast, if not dozens. I mean, what more can you ask for?"

Bark chuckled as everyone began eating, waving off Bobby's offer. I remember the cravings. I guess the girl's having them too, he noted, realizing that increased appetite might be a common symptom of recently awakened magic. He then addressed Bobby's question. "No, thanks. I just ate a bit ago. I never go where I might have to fight on an empty stomach." He paused, looking around the room before sighing. "Listen, kid, is there any way I can get to the roof from here?" he asked Takeshi, suddenly looking quite restless.

Bark shook his head. "Kid, I may be friendly, but even I need some alone time every so often. Helps me to think more clearly, you know?" he replied. "In any case, I'll be down in a bit." The large man ducked through a low doorway as he walked down the hall, finding the staircase at the end. He quickly climbed up to the roof, sighing in relief as he gulped in the semi-fresh urban air. He moved over to the edge and sat down, dangling his legs off the tall building while he reflected on how he'd acquired his own powers. Do I have some kind of responsibility to these kids now? he wondered. I don't want them to end up like me, resenting the people who brought them into all of this shit. But then again, sometimes it's more helpful to just mind my own business. Last time I tried to step in, it didn't end well... he thought gloomily. Damn these kids, being all idiotic and whatnot! But can i really trust the factions to make sure they don't turn into eugeneticist animals like the Preservers?

Nagi walked down to the area where she dropped off her trench coat and put it back on before picking up her sniper rifle case. Despite what she had said earlier about convenience, she decided that since she made the offer to help out, it would probably best to leave and head to her current hideout on her own regardless. Since Takeshi had mentioned the pathway to the roof, she decided that it would be best to leave from there. All she had to do was wait for the redhead to decide whether or not she wanted to accept the offer for a lift to the hospital.

She faced the redhead and simply asked, "So, how about it?"

Takeshi finished off his food and set the remains off to the side of his couch. Yawning, he laid back and rolled over. "Well, I'm going to sleep. You guys can stick around if you want, or leave, or whatever, just don't wake me up before 10." He curled up slightly and set his mind on falling asleep.
