Tekken Mains and reasoning?

I don't know why I'm thinking of Tekken - but it's one of the earliest games I've played and one of the few questionable church lock-in games that I know and love.

My "main" character is a classic roster spot holder. Anna Williams.

Anna is a promiscuous woman and sister to playable character Nina Williams. The two share a common thorn with me. They can't STAND their sibling. Their entire plotline is that one of them is going to beat the living crap (kill) the other in the King of the Iron Fist Tournament. Every. Single. Installment.

Those of you that know my heart -and- your Tekken will know that I -actually- relate more to Nina. Anna is my sister to a tee, and playing her reminds me of Emily's perspective being as important as mine and helps me cope better than -actually- killing her.

It used to be Paul in Tekken 4 because he looked cool with his hair down and was an easy character to pick up as I was just starting. I switched to Yoshimitsu in Tekken 5 because I love a guy with a sword, and his designs usually look cool as well. In Tekken 6 I switched again, to Jin this time. This was due to the fact that I was starting to look at the game in a more competitive manner, and I was beginning to learn that Yoshimitsu left much to be desired in terms of combo options. Jin was a character that I had been playing on the side since Tekken 4, so a switch to him was easy (And fun with the new combo options introduced in 6.) Finally, I shifted once more to Lee in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. I had been looking at Lee for a while at that point, though I had never actually put a lot of time in him until TTT2. I love his character and design, and he's got some sweet looking combos as well. He's also a character that takes a good amount of skill to play well, which is something I try to seek out. He's easily the character I've spent the most time practicing with, and I'm really happy with what he can do. I imagine I'll probably main Lee for a while to come.

Someone made a Tekken thread that wasn't me?!?!

I fucking love tekken, I might even love it more than smash bros actually I like smash slightly more, just slightly

I am a huge fanboy of King, I also really like Miguel, Asuka, Steve, and Jin. Of course Armor King is a bro! I am also curious about the newcomer Asaheem!

My side characters are Paul Pheonix, Marshal Law, and Julia Chang.

Tekken was a game my dad got me into. He mained Law for as long as I can remember. Law is like the Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan overhyped martial artist you see in the movies. If I wanted to play Tekken while in a "good mood" I might choose him over Anna. Law is a feel good character who is no words all action, and he's very fun to play.

Paul is a character that as Flux mentioned, is user friendly. I would go Paul to re-acclimate with the controls.

Julia is a random-ish classic character. Spiritual, ..but also a forest researcher/scientist? She fights to make a real difference. Cool backstory.

I used to love playing Hwaorang unti lthey changed his moveset so majorly. Though I must say, I never got a Chuck Norris impression from him. Something about him always just seemed so goofy, between his strange mouth movements, facial expressions, and the way he speaks. :D

Your comment about Julia reminded me that I forgot about Michelle. She's my go-to tag partner for Lee in Tag tournament 2, and one of my favorite characters in general. I'm reeeeeally hoping she'll show up again in Tekken 7, though it seems unlikely to me. :(

Hwoarang is Korean like Tae kwon do. He also has a strong "rebel against the military back ground" since Korea is infamous for having an "evil" military system.

Hwoarang is also rivals with Jin and Steve. Steve is a puncher and Hwoarang is a Kicker, rivalries are natural.

Lastly, some of the most practiced Martial arts are Karate and Tae Kwon Do, hence Jin's rivalry with him. Jin pracices Karate.
