Pyon Pyon Kyuu!~
Yo Pyon to the Pyon to the Kyuu up in here talking about our favorite weeb trash game that was announced with a beautiful trailer, check it. So I'm theory crafting on where the hell the Fire Emblem part of it comes in and people seem to think that maybe it comes from the characters being Fire Emblem characters in a very SMT world. And so I was like "Whaaat that's crazy" But then I got bored and I tried to figure out who everyone was. So help me find the similarities, or tell me I'm a dumbass and the real reason why it's SMT x FE. Here goes the ones I think as similar: Red Head dude and Mad King Gangrel from Awakening: Obviously red head dude is a LOT younger than Gangrel and probably not insane. But I thought the two looked the same. Why is Gangrel of all character represented? I don't know. Shrine Gal with dragon on head and Tiki: This one is kind of obvious... The dragon is a dead give away, and the colors match. Again seems to be a much younger version of Tiki. The female lead and male lead kind of look like Marth/Shiida but I'm still not sure on those... The more I think on them the less confident I am. Who knows I might be wrong on all this and all of the characters are completely original with just original art styles! I think the Tiki theory is on point though. Also thread was made very lazily? Hell yes. Kappa

Support Squad Felicity Posted April 2, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted April 2, 2015 Easy They take both parts of the game that can beat the everloving shit out of your patience and shove them together. Honestly, I guess it comes from a mish-mash if the gameplay and story elements. FE, to my knowledge has generally focused on at least one side definitely trumping the other whilst SMT focuses within it's stories on being the one guy to tip the balance. I say that referring to the main series SMT games rather than the spin offs like Digital devil saga or Persona. Put em together and you essentially just get to choose an alignment and roll with it for the rest of the game ecept now you get more indepth characters. Let's face it, SMT is not revered for all of it's characters, especially when there's always one token Chaos guy and one token Order guy in every game you have to pick a side. The character designs far and away make me think more of FE characters over any SMT, though whether or not they are specific characters or just unique ones idk. I also gotta wonder about Permadeath. In the SMT franchise, character death is common, if you introd FEs trademark permaadeath, you completely lose those characters anytime you fell prey to an unlucky Mahamaon or Mamudoon, the two skills infamous for causing the most bullshit deaths known to gamer. Godot
1. Isn't there a red headed warrior in the newest FE trailer? 2. Wasn't Tiki a little girl in another Fire emblem?
krim
1. Isn't there a red headed warrior in the newest FE trailer? 2. Wasn't Tiki a little girl in another Fire emblem? In Dark Dragon and Mystery of the Emblem (and their remakes) she was very young, and looks a bit like the picture.
Shamitako
1. Isn't there a red headed warrior in the newest FE trailer? 2. Wasn't Tiki a little girl in another Fire emblem? Tiki's been a little girl in most FEs she's in. Only Awakening has her grown up and we get Nowi as an expy of old Tiki
Pyon Pyon Kyuu!~
Godot do you mean this dude? He doesn't exactly seem to have the right hair color but it might be the fault of the cutscene. It would make more sense than Grangel that's for sure.
Maelstrom
I'm pretty sure most of the characters seen in the video are new characters. Just with FE style. It's no wonder there are a lot of similarities. There was that one guy with the orb of light in his hand, which he used to attack with later. It just reminded me of Yu when he has a persona card in his hand. If we're lucky, we'll get cameos based on FE characters. Or the armor that the protagonists wear is kind of like a persona themselves, incurring a character to give them their look/armor, some skills and attacks. Godot
Leaving this here. Vocaloid Tiki anyone?
Pyon Pyon Kyuu!~
You know, I don't think it's just "vocaloid Tiki". Everyone seems to be taking a singer/pop star look. First there's the ridiculous outfits, then you have the black haired girl in the skimpy outfit appearing in posters all over the city segments. And when they show the characters, they seems to be in a stage of some kind. And to Mael, I am starting to think that my original analysis on Marth, Gangrel etc was wrong. Tiki was right though! So hooray. But the girl and the red haired dude I think are the equivalents of a Pegasus Knight and Cavalier. I'd say the red haired man is actually a wyvern rider but... His motorbike doesn't seem to fly.

Support Squad Felicity Posted April 7, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted April 7, 2015 I'd just like to speculate that this game will be all about reincarnation or at east have this theme. This is nigh confirmed by, as in that video we see the starlets top song "Reincarnation". For those that don't know, the idea of reincarnation and transformatio (Another theme heavily shown in the trailer) is pretty much present in he recent SMT and persona games. SMT: DDS has this constant theme of hindu reincarnation where the characters struggle to break away from Samsara, the cycle of reincarnation to reach nirvana with their transformed selves, their Atmas. In SMT nocturne, the entire world is reincarnated as a wasteland and you with it as "The Demifiend". SMT IV you go from being a casualry slummer to a samurai, a new incarnation of yourself. In Persona each and every persona user grows and changes, represented in the transformation of their Personas. Hell, the very game mechanics themselves reflect this, the idea that you fuse personas and demons to get stronger reincarnations of them. That said, i think the story will revolve around modern reincarnations of Fire Emblem characters and their classes.
Commander
That said, i think the story will revolve around modern reincarnations of Fire Emblem characters and their classes. If this is true, please let Tiki be a playable character and turn into a Cyber Manakete.
Maelstrom
A cyber dragon? Well, if so, I think we know how grima will appear.
Pyon Pyon Kyuu!~
Fuckin' Cyber Dragon Tiki would be baws. I love how the mage has a microphone stand.
Support Squad Felicity Posted April 9, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted April 9, 2015 If this is true, please let Tiki be a playable character and turn into a Cyber Manakete. I mean, the pegasus in the trailer turned into a robotic version of itself...
Commander
I just wanted to add something else. If that cavalier red haired guy is a reincarnation of a Fire Emblem character, it has to be Cain. I can't think of anyone else it could be (I need to play more Fire Emblem games). I also pray that Wyvern Riders make it into the game. Please let us be able to use Wyvern Riders. I'd die of happiness.
Godot
We have yet to see any axe user of any kind. Which needs to happen since Ross and Boyd where some of my favorite units.
Support Squad Felicity Posted April 9, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted April 9, 2015 It depends on how the parties will turn out. It looks like the battle system will be more akin to SMT. IMO the way to balance it more towards FE really is to have a bigger character roster FE style. Most SMT games with a set party, as it looks to be, normally has very few characters all in all bar something like P3 or 4 where you had 8 or so party members. Pyon Pyon Kyuu!~
I think the best way to go at it is actually mutliclassing. SMT always has some incredibly heavy character development, and plot involvement. In FE you have about 6-7 playable units that are involved with the story the whole game. But if you could multiclass the characters you could still have SMTs 7-8 characters and all classes available to you. Alternatively you could just involve the usual 20 something characters in Persona games in the plot?
Support Squad Felicity Posted April 9, 2015 Support Squad Share Posted April 9, 2015 perhaps you're closer with that Pyon. Maybe it would be a strange take on Persona, substituting the Persona aspect for classes and having everyone act as a wild card.
