XxSilentWinterxX
Yeah, I was considering Heatmor since it has Flame Burst, and I don't need a Fire Stone to evolve it (like I would Vulpix). Though would the toxic spikes be burnt up if I burn the field with Flame Burst? I figure I can make use of Poison Status + Venoshock to his fairies. For this fight, I'd use the following, getting them all to at least lv 68-70. Also, catch a sealeo from the ametrine mountain, and evolve it into walrein. -Donphan -Walrein -Scrafty -Swanna -Bronzong -Aromatisse Teach trick room to bronzong, replacing heal block. Scrafty should be taught brick break over any move other than high jump kick, and you should also get an air balloon from the agate circus for it to hold. The first pokemon you send into battle MUST be donphan, no exceptions. Due to the field effect, anything else you send in risks becoming set-up bait for nidoking, unless you get very lucky and get to set trick room. Once nidoking is down, do the following depending on what Terra sends in -Excadril: Send in scrafty. Thanks to the air balloon, excadril can't hit you with earthquake, so you're free to KO it with HJK. -Claydol: Scrafty should concentrate on repeatedly using brick break to destroy the screen claydol tries to put up. Beware claydol using explosion -Hippowdon: Swanna should use rain dance ASAP, then proceed to use surf. -Quagsire: I'm not 100% certain of its ability here. Either walrein can spam blizzard here, or boost up with aromatisse using calm mind and hit it with psychic -Garchomp: Get bronzong/aromatisse (preferably aromatisse) and use trick room. Let the setter die and send in walrein. Use blizzard. That should get you past terra at least.

Blakfang402
Guys, I need help. I am on my first run through of Reborn and i have been stuck at Shelly for the past two weeks. Particularly, her illumise. By the time i kill it, it has taken out half my team. Here is my current team. Lvl 26 Noibat, Thinking of replacing it with a Pidgeotto cuz leveling is taking forever Wing Attack Leech Life Air cutter Bite Lvl 35 Empoleon (used common candy) Brine Metal Claw Bubblebeam Peck Lvl 29 Numel Ember Focus Energy Magnitude Flame Burst Lvl 30 Emolga Electro Ball Acrobatics Double Team Shock Wave Lvl 33 Dustox (Shiny) Psybeam Confusion Venoshock Silver Wind Lvl 35 Pyroar Ember Rock Smash Echoed Voice Fire Fang I feel like i need to change some of my team, but I'm not sure who to change. Noibat is especially weak, but i dont want to waste time leveling it if it is still going to be killed so easily. I want to change to a Pidgeotto, but Im not sure. Please help! Fumble
You definitely need to train up some of your Pokemon. If you can, try to get a Flame Burst up to destroy the Field and burn it, I forgot who on her team uses Rain Dance, however. As for your Noibat dilemma, I'd recommend getting a Pidove and training it, cuz Air Cutter's a really nice move to have it. Has STAB, Super Effective, and hits both Pokemon! Try to Paralyze that Yanmega, then you're free to throw anything you want at it. Worked for me in my older playthrough.
Fuchsia
Make sure they are leveled to as high as they can be.
Enkhidu
Using Flame Burst is the best way to defeat Shelly, train a little more your numel since it has it, if you need another pokemon with Flame Burst I would heavily suggest a Growlithe or a Vulpix (especially Vulpix if it has drought) with that the gym should be a piece of cake even if it took me like 5 tries when I was at Shelly.
ArmoredGuardian
Get a high level Fire type (like vulpix or pansear/simisear). Use flame burst. Instant K.O. ~Unless she confuse hax you.
Reno
Noibat's a real pain to train in the early game. Just replace it with another Flying type for now and catch another Noibat later.Like everyone else says, Flame Burst just turns this battle into easy-mode. Just pray you don't get haxed and you'll be fine.
Etesian
What I've found to be the most important against Shelly are items. Go to the Obsidia Department Store and get some Persim Berries for the confusion and use a Guard Spec. the first turn.
pmegakid
Like everyone else said flame burst then clean up with pyroar if it has moxie like mine then burn her to the ground lol fight like fire nation
Lord Chespin
Don't forget to use stealth rocks, too; it helps take a big bite out of her Pokemon's health, especially Heather the Yanmega. You can get stealth rock on the Onix you get from helping the hiker in the Peridot Ward find a home.

Knight_Teutonic
I think there's a thread with constant advice on how to beat gym leaders. You can also post there. You might find all the info you need. The threads were merged. I feel like an idiot now Edited April 4, 2015 by Knight_Teutonic
Cyclonegale
Okay sooo... after a relatively smooth run so far. I've run into a brick wall, and it's name is Charlotte. Infernape lvl 70 Adamant/Iron Fist Black Belt(Charcoal) - Flare Blitz - Acrobatics - Close Combat - Rock Smash Leavanny lvl 67 Adamant/Chlorophyll SilverPowder - Leaf Blade - X-Scissor - Swords Dance - Cut Vaporeon lvl 69 Rash/Hydration N/A - Rain Dance - Surf - Aurora Beam - Acid Armor Flygon lvl 70 Lonely/Levitate N/A - Earthquake - Dig - Dragon Claw - Rock Slide Luxray lvl 65 Lonely/Intimidate Silk Cloth - Spark - Strength - Crunch - Flash Gardevoir lvl 69 Modest/Synchronize N/A - Psychic - Moonblast - Calm Mind - Magical Leaf I thought my Flygon and Vaporeon would wipe the floor with her team. Unfortunately Vaporeon typically kills Flygon by using Surf, or Flygon dies before he can get off an Earthquake due to Energy Ball. Infernape doesn't hit anything hardenough(Even with STAB+Iron Fist+Black Belt Close combat...)
Fumble
I haven't actually challenged Charlotte, but here's some advice for you anyways: Leavanny really isn't worth it. Even with Chlorophyll, it won't be able to kill anything. I heard that Stealth Rock is really good against Charlotte. Rain Dance can also be pretty good so Solarbeam is two turn and Fire moves are weakened, so try to get that up with Vaporeon. If you can't get Rain up, it's good to try fighting fire with fire. Flare Blitz is boosted a whole lot, so even if it's NVE, it's worth a shot. That's all I got, maybe somebody else who actually beat Charlotte can help you more. Cyclonegale
Alrighty, I beat Charlotte without much Issue. I started with Vaporeon and Leavanny as points. I got a rain dance off and sent in my flygon for Earthquake sweep. Thankfully my Flygon is extremely fast, so no energy balls or solarbeams for you~

ClawofBeta
Here's a problem. I have the same issue as Cyclonegale, but the only issue is, my Flygon DOESN'T outspeed Darmaritan and Typhlosion (to my chagrin). Flygon Lvl 70 Levitate, Adamant, No Item -Earthquake -Uproar -Rock Slide -Dragon Claw -Random Ass Lumineon I caught to solely put up Rain Dance for this fight. Level 60. -Swift Swim, Quiet, Air Balloon -Surf -U-turn -Rain Dance -Whirlpool Charizard, Level 65 Blaze, Rash, Flame Plate -Flamethower -Inferno (just filler, never use) -WIng Attack -Cut Drapion, Level 65 Sniper, Naughty, No Item -Crunch -Bug Bite -Cross Poison -Rock Smash Primeape, Level 65 Vital Spirit, Bashful, Black Belt -Low Kick -Close Combat -Strength -Assurance Kabutops, Level 65 Swift Swim, Lonely, Splash Plate -Aqua Jet -Surf -Dive -Ancient Power On rotation, I usually use a Clefairy, Level 65 Magic Guard, Hasty, None. -Moonblast -Shadow Ball -Moonlight -Grass Knot. I'm at a loss what to do. My original plan was to just have Lumineon and Flygon sweep with Lumineons' Rain Dance, but my Flygon is outspeeded even at level 70 by Darmitan and Typholsion (...wish I could change his nature to Jolly, or EV train him, but lolRebornCityisBLocked). Any thoughts?
alaneapen
You may need to ev train your flygon in speed (Must easier with power anklet) . What I used was a prankster purrloin which set up the rain dance. If your flygon was faster, it would have no trouble outspeeding and hitting with eq. You might also want to train up your kabutops or a decent water type which could abuse the rain such as azumarill/crawdaunt/omastar.
