Arkhi
Hey there, folks! In order to create the community designed to best suit us all, this thread will act as an archive for suggestions to implement into the site, as well as a thread to facilitate discussion for those suggestions. To be abundantly clear, this thread concerns in absolutely no way the game itself, Pokemon Reborn. Instead, this is the place to voice your opinion with what to add to or change about the site, forums, and possible bugs users may have found. Included with the suggestion or bug is the user's name and date of posting (Post numbers are included if greater detail or images are involved). Now, let's get the rudiments out of the way. Suggestions and discussion are to be discussed in this thread; going off topic a great deal will result in appropriate punishment. Head to the Onyx Arcade for fun instead. Keep conversation constructive and on-track. Because suggestions to be made and bugs found may occur at unknown time periods, necroposting in this thread is not an offense so long as the content being brought up is new and not yet discussed. Other baselines may be added here, if necessary. On 4/6/2015 at 5:02 AM, Jericho said: Just coming here to re-iterate, any joke posts will result in a warning from me or one of the other mods. Site/Forum Suggestions NOTE! The suggestions have been broken down further. If the suggestion requires editing to the way the site functions, requires intense use of HTML, or is otherwise unable to be added at this time due to other limitations, it will be added to the spoiler below this section. Basic Suggestions: Last updated on 12/9/16 Empty here! Advanced Suggestions: (Features requiring great time, resources, or projects unable to be added at this time) Last updated on 30/6/17 Have the "All Content" (default) option for the search bar include members (and maybe just change it to all). It includes every category except members. - Suggested by DreamblitzX, 3/21/17 Refresh the notification listing when new notifications are acknowledged, rather than requiring users to click on the notifications tab to remove the number of new updates. - Suggested by Mr. Divergent, 3/24/17 Site Discussion Last updated on 9/21/16 Nothing~ Site/Forum Bugs Last updated on 12/9/16 -Forums and subforums that have already been read completely (not using the Marked as Read button) sometimes still display as having new content. (Reported by NickCrash 12/8/16) -Ignored users' stauses still show up in the status updates feed. (Reported by Captain Breakfast, 12/23/16) Server Suggestions/Maintenance Last updated on 2/5/17 -Allow mods to use moderation commands while muted. Additionally, prevent mods from being muted by Breloom Bot. (Suggested by someone, 11/1/15) -Create unique characters for numbers, like the bubble characters we have for letters. This way, they would not affect User ID. (Suggested by Bazaro, 1/29/17) Make /away check for authority level. (Suggested by Bazaro, 1/29/17) Previous/Implemented/Discarded Suggestions Blue text refers to implemented suggestions, red text refers to axed suggestions. 2015 -Just read this. <--Refer to as Site Cleanup #1. Resolved by Vinny. -Edit the Community FAQ to reflect that Ace Membership now requires 750 Posts. (Suggested by Vlado Vladimir, 6/23/15) Resolved by Ikaru. Things We've Discussed: -Add simpler application of spoilers, scrolls, and any other text editing using braces [] (Suggested by ShingSt, 4/6/15) Use the blue and green "Special BBC Code" application, located in the upper left side of the editor, left three from the upper left icon. -Make the Contact Page more available on the main site. (Suggested by Rezilia, 5/20/15) The Contact Page does not work. -Cut down on the strictness of rule enforcement. (Suggested by Sparky, 5/19/15, Post #55) Subject was no longer pursued after a month of inactivity. Certainly, it can still be brought up, should anyone feel the need arises. -Add imports from Pokemon Showdown! for out Create a Trainer Card! page. Capability currently does not exist. (Suggested by Reignited'Light, 4/26/15) Added when the Forums recovered from recent downtime. Read about it here. -Concerning using the Forum Moderation notation at the bottom of some sub-forums. (Suggested by Arkhidon, 11/13/14) A suggestion for the site is what I'm making, though it is more aimed towards Mods & Staff. In the Roleplaying and Reborn City forums, in the lower right corner of the page is listed: This forum lead by: Names be Here. While many members of the community know, at the least, that Hukuna leads the Roleplaying forum, some may be unaware of who leads others. (I've been asked where the global moderators moderate) The auth are currently (as of around July 2015 and forward) working to add more local mods, which will make greater use of this. -Site Cleanup #2. (Suggested by Chubbs, 7/7/15) -Site Cleanup #3. (Suggested by Chubbs, 7/11/15) The threads in question to be moved were either moved or very old and can be moved only if there is no overarching priority. Or the auth can do whatever, it's your gig, go nuts. -Decrease the minimum character count for Searches from 4 characters to 3 (or 2). (Suggested by Absolute_Zero, 4/5/15) Unlikely to be incorporated due to site limitations. -Allow statuses to be upvoted (Suggested by Chubb the Pig, 6/1/15)Deemed to be unnecessary. -Change the text color of Messenger in the Menu when a new message is present. (Suggested by Reignited'Light, 7/2/15) It's about as flashy as it will get. Additionally, this may conflict with site limitations. -Allow inter-member post editing. (Suggested by Arkhidon, 7/7/15) The idea is that one member creates a thread and another member, if given permission, can edit it. This applies to member ranks below Moderator. Reserved solely for auth. If a time comes when this is very necessary for non-auth, contact Arkhidon or Chubb for details. -Clean up the On the Hunt forum. (Suggested by Damage, 7/8/15) Cleaned up by auth (maybe Sheep?) -Improve upon the Search Bar. (Suggested by everyone and their grandmother at some point Chubb & Azery, 4/4/15) Ultimately, it comes down to the members using the site to understand how it works, since the limitations at present may be impassable. -Improve the site design or find some way to bypass the default view to access the Web view. (Suggested by Red_Chaos, 7/8/15) It's kinda ugly and we don't have a site designer, so some executive decision was made to make the iOS design the same as the Desktop site design. -Do what?!? [Not really a bug, but this needs to be expanded upon or deleted.] (Added by Arkhidon, 6/3/15) Fixed! -Increase the storage space for users (preferably Familiars, Aces, and above). (Suggested by RainbowDash, 7/12/15) Added with the 9/13/15 Site Update. Read about it here! -Adjust and balance member upvote limits, if possible.(Suggested by Arkhidon, 6/23/15) With a great rise in the number of upvotes recently, the system is inherently deprecating itself of its value. A member with over 1000 Rep. should be a rare sight: they are an "actual superstar", after all. A role model should not be one who posts too frequently and obtains an increase in reputation just from the act of posting. Except Ame, because there's no way around the influx of upvotes from new episode releases. As such, the limit of upvotes must be adjusted. A lower capacity should do the trick, at least for now. Members: 3 upvotes Ace Members: 5 upvotes Staff & Developers: 6/7 upvotes The higher-ups shouldn't have this problem to begin with. -Update the Nuzlocke Guidelines for Ep. 15 (and future releases as they come). (Suggested by Chubb, 8/24/15) -Auth-applicable: "When using the merge tool in topic moderation can we get an indicator of which topic will be the dominant one and which will be merged into it?" (Suggested by Sheep, 9/7/15) Added with the 9/13/15 Site Update. Read about it here! -Update the Help Topics (Suggested by Chubb the Pig, 5/23/15) Removed because the Help Topics cannot be updated: they are set and unchangeable, if my research is correct. They remain in the state they are in, which is the IP Board 3.4.6 Default. -Improve the Report a post page. (Suggested by Arkhidon, 3/17/15) While the Report page does show the thread containing the post in question, there is no confirmation which post is being reported. For that reason, if someone somehow makes a mistake and reports the wrong user, that could be annoying(?) towards the auth or cast a light on the one doing the reporting to be screwing around with the Report button, which puts them at risk of being warned. I suggest, if possible, including the post in the Report page so that confirmation can be made. It's actually just fine. If you click the page/user you're reporting in the Report header, that will link you to the page or user. -"Minor thing: Diamond Pickaxe (Male) is misspelled as "Diamon Pickaxe (Male) in the Sprite Shop." (Reported by Chubb, 10/6/15) Fixed by Ikaru: The Hero of Wasted Time The following indented suggestions were fixed or maintenanced by Based Ikaru: -Notify members that their newly-made Trainer Card will appear in their signature after the create it. There's too many duplicate trainer cards. (Suggested by Tacos/Arkhidon, 3/1/15) -Update the Staff list when names are changed and reflect the removal of Hall of Champions and the new Victory Road (Reported by Chubb, 10/15/15) -Archeops will not import from Showdown onto Trainer Cards using the Trainer Card creator. (Reported by Shing, 9/26/15) -Leavanny's name is misspelled on the Create a Trainer Card! page. (Reported by Chubb the Pig, 4/26/15) -Don't be so double negative! Do not not do that! (Reported by Lamona, 6/28/15) The following two ruled as impractical. -Add more Style Swappers for the Reborn Main page. (Suggested by Chubb the Pig, 6/10/15) -Create a subforum (likely under Mews & Announcements) pertaining to the topic of Showdown and Reborn-related news in the server. (Suggested by Chubb, 8/2/15) -rules pls. Change "of" to "on" or "under". Preferably "under", since that's the most explanatory. (Suggested by Arkhidon, 11/14/15) Fixed by Ikaru: The Man with the Plan not named Dan -Something happened here and I'm not quite sure what... It may have to do with closing the spoiler of the past post's spoiler. (Reported by Arkhidon, 7/8/15) Apparently the issue fixed itself? -Concerning post link redirecting. See Jericho's post. (Added by Jericho, 1/19/15) Fixed by Dan/Ikaru. -We have a calendar. Surprise! Let's use it. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?app=calendar (Suggested by Ark/Vinny, 5/6/15) No proper use for this. 2016 -Allow easier access to this thread detailing Warning Points and consequences for any number of warning points. (Suggested by Etesian, 11/16/15) Warning Point Consequences thread created! -Give a small text notification when a user spectates a battle, similar to when a user enters a new chat room. (Suggested by Kamina, 12/21/15) Implemented as of 1/31/16! -Remove or give users the option to remove the notification in the Main Lobby chat informing everyone that two users have begun a battle. (Suggested by Kamina, 1/20/16) No such implementation may be made, custom-created or not. Only an appeal to the Showdown community itself would herald a result with regards to this. -Change the Profile settings page from "User CP" to "User Control Panel". //If this proves troubling, it can be moved to Advanced Projects. (Suggested by Sychronoise, 10/21/15) Ruled as unnecessary. Spring Cleaning! The following is a TON of stuff removed as of 2/26/16, ruled as impractical (except for Flux's suggestion to embed Soundcloud, that was added). Advanced Suggestions that were axed: -When quoting a post, the timestamp is from the original date of the post, though it may have been edited after the original post. (Suggested by Ikaru/Arkhidon, 1/2/15) Ex: The problem here is I edited this on 1/2/15, but the quote reads that I said this on 11/19/14. If possible, the quoting system could reflect the date the post was edited instead of the date the post was made. SEE THIS POST FOR THE EXAMPLE -Include a link in the FAQ page to Jericho's Grand Hall FAQ. (Suggested by Arkhidon, 3/14/15) -Implement Main Site Page's theme onto the Forums (Suggested by Dobby, 11/22/14) -Allow an "Add Transparency" (or Image Editor?) for profile pictures. (Suggested by Murdoc, 3/29/15) -Create particular designs for each sub-forum. (Suggested by Reignited'Light, 4/7/15) Edit (8/1/15): The next suggestion applies to Skitty's suggestion above, but was NOT from the original Site/Forum Maintenance thread. -If particular designs for each sub-forum are incorporated, allow vitally important threads to be placed above Pinned threads. See here for an example. -Allow sub-forums to be minimized (Suggested by Reignited'Light, 5/31/15, Post #69) -Allow users to see their posts from over a year ago. (Suggested by Kamina, 7/11/15) -Allow users to edit their Status Updates. (Suggested by Chubb, 8/21/15) -"Find out which posts our latest reps points came from"/Allow users to see their Reputation tab by order of latest upvoted. (Suggested by Kamina, 8/21/15) -Give members clarity, confirmation, or closure when submitting reports. Currently, only text reading "Submitting Report..." flashes before fading. (Suggested by Etesian, 10/27/15) -Integrate SoundCloud embedding to the Forums (Suggested by Flux, 11/10/15). -Create a notification of sorts when the latest post in a thread has been updated. Read here for details (Suggested by Etesian, Maelstrom, 11/16/15). -Remove the Reputation filter for posts in threads (located in the upper right of any thread. (Suggested by Etesian, 11/18/15) -Read for clarity: If a new post in a subforum is made that has NOT been read, but all posts in the umbrella forum before it have been, embolden the text on the Community Index to reflect only the subforum has new posts rather than the umbrella forum containing the subforum with the new post. (Suggested by Etesian, 11/27/15) -Add a filter to the Notifications page. (Suggested by Jericho, 2/2/16) Bugs that were axed: - When a thread is near the end of a page, posts can overlap, allowing 21 responses per page. (Added by Arkhidon, 11/19/14) Example: A thread has 19 total posts: 1 original post and 18 replies. When another member replies, taking that 19th reply (and 20th total post), the page doesn't refresh. Should the message "A new reply has been added" appear, along with an option to view that reply, be disregarded and the post made, the 20th reply (21st total post) appears on the page. - A bug concerning members being able to farm Rupees and Post Counts. (Added by Arkhidon, 11/19/14) When a user comments in a sub-forum not in Etcetera, they obtain Rupees and an additional post count. However, they can delete their comment, removing evidence that they ever made a post, yet retaining their Rupees and post count. While a user can upvote the comment to see it on their profile, the reply cannot be directly accessed. -When purchasing a particular number of items, the quantity purchased is determined by the first input of the quantity desired. If that quantity is later changed, the change is NOT considered. View screenshots below. (Added by Arkhidon, 1/21/15) -Pressing Alt 0 while using the text editor (or after clicking on it, then pressing Alt 0) does not present help. [i never got around to posting this] (Added by Arkhidon, 2/18/15) - Sometimes, the site derps. I refreshed this, so that isn't the issue. (Added by Arkhidon, 3/4/15) -Statuses attempted to be made posted from a user's Profile Feed page are not posted. (Post #259, Added by Flux, 4/1/15) -Banned users can be reported via posts they have made. (Added by Arkhidon, confirmed by Jericho, 4/4/15) -Users have the option to Donate Reborn Rupees to themselves by looking at their own profile. (Reported by Chubb the Pig, 6/10/15) -Having juuuuust the right number of friends results in a second page with no one on it; as such, the page says that the user in question has no friends added. Check out Chubb's post on it. (Reported by Chubb, 7/24) -When comments are made on statuses, then the "Hide Comments" tab is clicked, the comment count doesn't refresh immediately. (Added by Arkhidon, 12/13/14) The following were changed as a result of or around the time of the December 2016 site migration/update. Spoiler -Allow a warning before muting for flooding in main. (Suggested by Spineblade, 3/6/16) Not implemented- the auth decision made was that spammers will get off easier as a result of this lax warning rather than mute. -Update the Registration page to include the Terms of Use, currently inaccessible. (Reported by Arkhidon, 10/10/15) -Update the Privacy Policy to reflect that it is actually not accessible from the bottom of every page. (Reported by Arkhidon, 10/10/15) -Install an auto save feature into the Private Messages system like the Main Forums have (Suggested by Stratos 2/18/15) -Allow users the option to permanently disable emoticons on posts. (Suggested by Vinny, 5/15/15) -Edit the Notifications button to show new Notifications, like how the Messenger button does. (Suggested by Chubbs, 7/9/15) -When viewing the "Online Users" list, if the option to view members in Ascending/Descending order, the opposite is performed. If member names are sorted by "ascending", then the names start at A and descend down, while when sorted by "descending", the names start at Z and ascend up. (Added by Arkhidon, 1/26/15) -"When you've clicked to reply and a new reply appears before you click "post", you cannot use the report button on that comment." (Reported by Nickcrash, 4/5/15) -Ignored users' statuses still show in the Status Feed. (Reported by Vinny, 9/5/15) -Messages are marked as read prematurely. Read here for details. (Reported by Spineblade, 3/16/16) -Profile view count is borked. (Reported by several, 10/21/16) The above ten updated with the December site update! 2017 Spoiler -Create a "Celebrations" sub-forum in Trainer's Journal for birthday, milestone, AMAs, and Reborn-member specific threads. (Suggested by Dobby, 5/18/16) Suggestion removed according to the prospect that the sub-forum will receive minimal traffic.

Vinny
The Search Bar literally says "Search" on it, so I'm uncertain how to improve on it, but I'll edit the OP. I guess that Chubbs was talking about the fact that the search isn't as "precise" as it should be. I know not if there's a way to fix that, but if there is... Arkhi
What else could convey the Search bar's purpose in the small amount of space there is except with the word "Search"? One improvement I can think of would be, in addition to having the search bar there, linking users to the Search Form page below the Search Bar. The Search Form page can be found here:http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=search

Arkhi
[unpopular opinion] I personnally find some signatures too long and boring. One trainer card long should be enough. [/unpopular opinion] There's one great fix and another potentially good one. You can press the X found in the upper right corner of anyone's signature to remove that particular signature or remove everyone's completely. On the other hand, if you see signatures that are too long, report that user for having too long a signature. (5- No long signatures- the limit is two trainer card heights' not counting the card itself.)
Enkhidu
I don't know if there's a specific reason but in the search bar you can't search something with 3 characters, for example I was searching for any speculation threads about Lin and I couldn't search for it because you can't search for something that is below 4 characters. This is only an example of this, since this has happened to me a lot of times when I'm searching for something, it's this intentional or what? Arkhi
I'm uncertain that can be changed. I understand what you mean, since searching for people with three-letter names (or nicknames) is not possible. Adding that to the OP.

NickCrash
Customize skin should also enable us to change the colour of the background or the column on the left. Perhaps it could go side-by-side with the colour that the lines get, just a lighter shade or something (eg: lines get dark green - column gets a ligher shade of green)

NickCrash
We can add "Profile Picture Rater". I don't know if the site supports it, but we could have a, let's say, 5-star system, where people visiting our profiles can rate our avatars. Every time we change them, new ratings. We could have a history of profile pictures, like the one with names. Rating could stay on the previous pictures.

We until recently had such a 5-star system on users profiles (not specifically for their avatar) that was removed due to it just being ridiculous. It also is just the sort of thing that is... not beneficial in any sort of way? The only thing I can see coming out of that are hurt feelings. Arkhi
If possible, at the characters' page we should add descriptions about Samson, Ciel, Terra, Adrienn and Titania. Arguably, this could remain unchanged, simply so that readers don't immediately learn about every character there is in Reborn. It's good to leave a lot to the imagination, so that's up to the higher-ups. Added to the OP.
Yash
One thing I can think of is when using the site on a mobile device, we can't use the font formatting tools.. Arkhi
You'd have to learn BBC or copy and paste the formatted text. A more mobile-friendly site has been suggested before, so that's definitely on the list once, if ever, we get an able programmer for the site.
