{Jacob vs. Danielle}

Jacob grimaced as the Night Shade attack approached Teo. This is gonna hurt, he thought helplessly. After all, a Ground-type could only do so much aerial maneuvering. The attack hit directly, the pain evident as Teo's eyes clinched shut. However, due to the nature of the attack, Teo remained on his intercept course with the Larvesta. He slammed into the larval moth, catching it in his mouth. As a desert Pokemon he was used to Fire-types and their annoying abilities, but he still winced from the high temperature. Just before the pair hit the ground, Jacob grinned.

"Now, Teo and Chalchi, we're finishing Corona! Texas Burial combo attack!" The Larpas fired a Water Pulse directly below the pair, sopping the already soaked ground as Teo used Sand Tomb to open a pit of sand directly below his descent. The Water type attack mixed into the sand and Teo dove in with Corona first. The Crunch-locked pair disappeared into the sand. The crowd held its breath, waiting on the outcome. Moments later Teo scrabbled up above the surface, having left the Larvesta immobile in the quicksand. The Trapinch was panting but still more than ready to fight the annoying Murkrow that had hit him with a dirty cheap shot from behind.

{Danielle vs. Jacob}

Corona struggled due to exhaustion and the mushy mess clinging to her white fur. This is like the last time she fought and she hated it! It made her master cry! She will not have none of that again! So, instead of crying pitifully, the Larvesta screeched in defiance, covering herself in her warm flames again (Flame Charge) in order to dry out the sand around her.

Avis' eyes lit up, seeing an opportunity to free her easily. Like Corona, the bird is not about to let that incident repeat itself, not on her watch. The Murkrow left her icy perch and dove straight into the sand pit, giving a "caw" to Teo as she passed by. Like a spoon to a bowl of soup, the mischievous bird then aimed a Steel Wing into Corona's dried up sand, lifting the bug up into the sky. Unfortunately, the bird will be left wide open for an attack.

"Nice one Avis!" Danielle complimented her starter, who only gave a wink. "She's not as frail as you think, Jacob! Now, show off your Acrobatics girl!" In all honestly, Danielle was surprised at Corona's determination. Whether or not she wins or loses, Danielle was just glad to give Jacob a real match this time.

Corona was only happy to comply. She will get back at Teo for trying that trick again even if it means she will go down! Using the last of her energy, the Larvesta began zooming around Teo at blinding speeds, leaving behind what seems to be two afterimages before she attempted to tackle Teo multiple times (Acrobatics).

Jacob laughed as the Larvesta emerged from the sand pit on Avis's wing. "Nice move, Danielle! But little Icarus, you've flown too close to the sand, as it were. Teo, give Avis the same treatment! Use Sand Tomb!" The Trapinch immediately dove under the dirt after taking one hit from the Larvesta's Acrobatics attack. Suddenly, a dome of sand enveloped the Murkrow, pinning her wings to her side. Chalchi fired a Water Pulse at the already-wet sand, hitting the exposed bits of Murkrow and soaking the rest of it, but this time she was ready to close it out. A familiar pale mist crept over the wet sand dome, freezing the construction solid.

{Ryan vs. Kage}

I see what he's trying to do here. If her can lower Feroces' speed, he can try and set up dragon dances so Reina not only become more agile, but will be able to hit like a truck. "Feroces! Get off the ground!" The Luxio looked back at Ryan before leaping onto one of the rocks that were scattered across the battlefield following Reina's Rock Tomb. The Luxio could still feel the Bulldoze vibrations because of the rocks beneath him, but the attack didn't seem to affect him nearly as much as it would if he were on the field floor. Adjusting his positioning, Feroces began leaping from stone to stone, and then leapt towards Reina with gleaming frosty fangs.

Reina finished her Dragon Dance... just in time for Feroces to crash into her at full power. She was knocked to the arena floor by the Ice Fang as she cried out in pain. She shook herself, trying to dislodge the Electric-type. "Reina! Bite! Try to pin him to the floor, make him feel the heat!" The Tyrunt did her best to obey the order, trying to reach Feroces with her powerful jaws and slam him to the floor.

Feroces was perceptive, but he wasn't exactly the brightest thing. He never quite understood the difference between physical and special attacks, no matter how many times Ryan tried to help him. So, bracing himself for the attack, Feroces began charging himself up with electricity. When Reina, bit down Feroces screeched in pain. He began flailing his legs around wildly and his body began to release tremendous amounts of electricity to defend itself from Reina.

"Reina! Pin him!" Reina forced the catlike Pokemon downward and held there, wincing in pain as the flailing limbs and discharges caught her across the sides of her large head. Her jaws remained clamped as firmly around Feroces as she could manage, and hopefully the heat was beginning to take a toll.

{Jacob vs Danielle}

"Roost up, Avis!" Danielle called before nodding to Corona, who hovered over the sand pit. "You should have taken out Corona first, my friend. Since you left her alone, she still has some firepower left~"

At that instance, Corona fired an Incinerate towards the ice dome, creating a small hole for her to sneak into. The firebug chirped to get Avis' attention before she fired a barrage of fireballs to dry up the sand around her mentor, freeing her trapped wings.

The water and ice combination definitely hurt the frail bird. She was lucky that her Roosting instincts kicked in in time before the ice had taken its full effect on her wet feathers. With a grateful nod, Avis took off once again and allowed the bug to sit on her back as she flew towards the structure. Despite the gravity of the battle, Avis couldn't help but notice that Corona has gained some weight. The bug felt heavier on her back since the last time they have flown like this...

"Now break the sculpture with Steel Wing!"

Avis snapped back into reality at her master's command. She will consult with Danielle about Corona's weight gain later. With her sturdy, metallic wings, the black bird rammed the dome, causing the ice to rain down on the participants below.

"Yeah, but now I don't have to discriminate between targets! Teo, now! Chalchi, help him out!" The Trapinch flew up from underneath the sand, targeting the Larvesta on Avis's back with a Dig attack as they broke through the icy dome. He barreled toward the weighed-down bird, determined to finish off the pesky firebug once and for all. Chalchi used a triple Water Pulse, firing three glowing balls of water at the Murkrow. If Avis wanted any chance of dodging them, she'd be forced to drop the Larvesta into Teo's attack.

Quick reminder that these battles need some attention again.

@Murdoc and Tacos: You two know that it's a double battle right? You can switch only once (and again after one of your Pokémon faints) and the first one that loses 2 Pokémon is out of the tournament.

"Corona, counter with Acrobatics on Teo! Avis, Dark Pulse on Chalchi once again!" Danielle commanded the flying duo.

Using Avis back as a launch pad, the firebug, rushed at the incoming Trapinch once more with her, leaving a trail of fire behind her wake. Let's see if his Dig can stand this!

As a result of the Larvesta's weight, the Murkrow was pushed closer to the ground, allowing her to escape most of the Water Pulse's drenching effects. Shaking herself off of the remaining water droplets, Avis then fired the signature dark rings of Dark Pulse straight at the Water/Ice type to distract her from saving Teo.

The Trainer grimaced, then nodded to himself. This is it! "Teo, use Bide! Chalchi, use Ice Shard on Teo, then Protect yourself!" The Trapinch began to glow red as his Dig attack collided with the Larvesta's Acrobatics. After taking a few hits, the Lapras's Ice Shard attack managed to reach him. One or two hit him, but then something odd happened. The Trapinch glowed bright red and turned his head, then swatted the Larvesta out of the sky with his massive jaw with incredible force. The Lapras barely managed to get her shining shield up before the Dark Pulse hit, resulting in her being slightly damaged by the concussive force of the explosion on the shield.
