Yu-Gi-Oh Roleplay Episode 2: When the Kids are United [AT SCHOOL]

"So it seems like I wasn't the only one." Zander paused, sliding his ruby necklace between his fingers. "I kind of brainstormed this whole situation and I think I've got a decent grasp on it." Zander sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "So, you all remember that the dream said, 'Izanami Lore #30: The world will soon be... enveloped in shadows and destroyed.'" Zander had paused, trying to remember what it said. "Ok, so, the last part doesn't really matter as much to my theory as the beginning. 'Izanami Lore #30.' Now, does anyone remember how Lane dropped a card that happened to be called 'Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction.' Notice how not long after we seemed to have this vision, that started off with 'Izanami Lore 30.' You seeing the similarity? Both have 30. Now, yesterday, when I was talking to Ayatane, he said that there were all these Number Cards that grant the holder powers. So, perhaps their power is seeing these Izanami Lores that coordinate to the card number." Zander paused, hoping his explanation was good enough. "But what I don't understand, is why we all saw it. I mean, I thought since he had dropped it right near me, that I had picked up that power. But now that it looks like we've all had the same dream, I don't really know what to think."

Setsuna clutched her head at the sudden spell of light-headedness she was feeling as she listened to the words of the teacher in front of her. She instinctively took a step back.

"Do I really come off as hostile? I know I'm not the best conversationalist but my words were never meant to seem hostile or cold. The issue is not that I am trying to pin the murder on you. Let's try to step back and look at this from another angle. You have been going around and leaking tiny bits of information with regards to Egyptian mythology yesterday when you likely heard Dominic and I mentioning illegal duels. Your words today seemed to be directing each of us onto a fixed set of paths on which we would gather information efficiently. From these, it's fairly obvious you have some sort of ulterior motive for your actions. It's also even more likely that you are not the killer considering you are trying to steer everyone into gathering information and pooling it. However, your motives for doing so are still unclear to me."

" Well well, now isn't that a summarization worthy of a detective in a movie?"

Said Anna. Again, there was no trace of irony or sarcasm in her voice, her tone was absolutely neutral, and her expression was impossible to read... Although the golden glow in her eyes was growing stronger, slowly but steadily.

"I believe I have already told you my reason for guiding you guys in gathering info about professor Tenjo's death: he was a good friend of mine. I want his murderer to be apprehended, but I know that the police will never manage to sort out this case, because they don't believe in anything involving the supernatural origin of Duel Monsters. You kids, however... Some of you have displayed a rather intriguing potential: I look forward to seeing where your path will lead you. Will you be able to unveil the truth? I genuinely hope so, from the bottom of my heart, and I am willing to do anything in my power to help you. Having heard this, are you still wary of me? Or do you think you can finally start trusting me?"

With a last enigmatic smile, Anna turned her back on the two students. The moment she broke eye contact, the effects of her spell on the two disappeared.

"You all knew me before I became your new homeroom teacher, correct? And yet none of you can really remember when I became teacher in this school, or what was my role before: have you wondered why? Also, there have been a few cases of people missing chunks of their memories in this school, and mysterious cards appearing out of nowhere: do you want to know what is really going on?"

Anna turned around once again, to look at her two students one last time. Her eyes were completely normal now, no mysterious glow about them.

"If so, meet me in this very spot once school is over: I will answer your every question once and for all. On two conditions: you cannot tell anybody about this meeting of ours, and you must promise that you will accept responsibility for everything that will derive from the knowledge you will acquire. Oh and if you please could tell mister Lazario and miss Plains that I want them to be present too. But remember: nobody else can come and nobody else must know anything about this meeting, except the four of you. Now if you will excuse me..."

And with this, Anna walked away.

Charlotte winced at how her head suddenly started hurting again,first that Izanami Lore thing and now this...and where Miss Reiner's eyes glowing? Must be some sort of reflection of light or something...but how does that explain that the headache I and presumably Setsuna by the looks of it just got started just when her eyes started glowing..."Well..that was strange I guess..seems like i'll have to delay going to the museum till later..Setsuna was it..are you planning on coming here after school?"Charlotte said to her classmate,it'd be best to know if Setsuna and the other 2 Anna mentioned were coming,safety in numbers or so they say.

"Well, it seems there's still plenty of time, and I have nothing to do." thought Monika as she sat down in her seat, inside the classroom 2-2, and took a quick look at her watch.

Monika tried to come up with a good plan for the afternoon. First, she had to talk (again) to Ayatane. While the words he said the day before were all but reassuring, Lane was going to be with her, so there shouldn't have been too many problems. And after that? It was very plausible that she would have a lot of time left in the afternoon, and wandering around the city without a destination didn't look like a good idea. Going to the port (near home) didn't look like a good idea either, as there was the Ice Queen there: although Monika was very curious about this and wanted to know more, she didn't want to be turned into an ice sculpture. Near the port there was the beach, which could have been alright... The police was not this helpful, so going to the station could have been a waste of time... but, they could at least know some certain facts that she could investigate (instead of the police, who would never resolve them; in case they were related to Number cards, the Ice Queen, etcetera).

She took a look around the class, seeing a lot of people in a single group, but did not care this much. Why joining in another conversation that was going on for a long time? She could have done that before.

Gen entered the class and sat down, thinking of what he should do.

"By the way, who is our homeroom teacher again?" He asked Monika.

Dean got up from the floor and proceeded to go inside in the cafeteria and sat down to eat his since he was starving.

"Or you could just let me do the talking instead of this finance stuff or whatever. I pretty much spent half my day yesterday with the guy and he seemed pretty nice and pretty confused." Luna looked over to Red who moved back a bit. "Oh don't worry about that. As long as you're not trying to scare me or anything, you're safe from the spray."

[Red/Luna]

"Boo" Klive said to Lunas joke in a deadpan voice. "Oh, and I got a response from the others. They'll fill us in on anything vaguely relevant." Klive said, hoping Arial was true to her word.

Luna/Klive

"Alight, I guess all that is left is to find Will, if Luna is gonna talk. Also, Klive who are these others you have in contact with? " Red moved towards the doors of the cafeteria and gently pushed them open.

[Felicity]

[Red/Luna]

"Just a couple of the other people in the class. I'll let them introduce themselves later, when and if we see them with actual info." Klive responded coyly. Xe didn't really know if Arial and Rene wanted Klive spouting to everyone about their own investigation, it was a coincidence xe had found out...

"Maybe it's because he was waving the card at all of us that, you know, the power transferred to all of us somehow?" Arial suggested, although she was more interested in Zander's information on Ayatane. She wondered if this person had said any more to the casanova.

"Fweeeeee~" Setsuna let out a huge sigh as she collapsed onto her knees on the pathway. Her calm facade fell apart. Whatever pressure had been causing her light-headedness seemed to vanish as she allowed herself to unwind and breathe deeply.

However, she did remember what her teacher said both about the weird feeling she had in regards to her as well as the fact that she would be willing to answer all questions. "All questions, huh? Even if she attempts to divert us, it would still be a good way to obtain some information either way."

So, Setsuna stood up and patted the dust off of her knees. "I'll go look for Lane. Charlotte, you look for Red. Be as discrete as possible. If anyone else finds out, we will lose a huge opportunity to squeeze information out of her."

She immediately took off out of the garden and headed out to find Lane.

Dean sat down in his usual table, remaking his deck, taking out cards and adding in cards that will help fuel the deck purpose in case of a street duel.

Monika this time was looking at her watch more frequently, because the lunch break was about to end, and she hoped that the boy would be able to reply in time.

To Monika

Gen's thoughts became clear upon Monika's answer.

"I'm not there when that happened. What is this "vision" that you speak off?"

[Cyaloom]

Gen

"Wait, where did you go then? It seems I didn't pay attention..." Monika replied. "Anyway, when we were in the classroom we all had headaches and saw this very frightening vision of this city... well, because of this I'd rather not talk about it, if you are OK. But, Anna, our teacher, was there when this happened. And right after that she left, saying that we probably had the headaches (so, the vision) because we didn't eat. But I did... And after that, I saw Anna in the garden. Probably she was just 'resting' after we all asked her various questions, but it might mean that she didn't want to answer fully."

"So that's what happened...." Gen said as he looked on the doors.

"I'm not here because I have to wait for a card delivery from the shop. It took me almost half a day to receive it, but I'm sure this will help me on my battles with the culprit, in case I encounter him or her." Gen stressed as he searched his deck for a certain card.

Once Robert had packed up his stuff, he left the class and went on a walk to get some kind of distraction from his thoughts. There was no way he'd be fine with the thoughts until he got some kind of answers, and he didn't even know who he would even begin to ask about any of it.

After walking around while lost in his thoughts, he found himself in the cafeteria. Having just eaten his lunch, he looked instead to see if he could find someone to talk to, anything to get his mind off everything. His eyes settled on a guy with his cards out. Going with his gut choice, he walked over to them. "Heya, do you mind if I sit here?"

Dean responded "I don't mind, I know this is sudden but can we duel just to test my deck because I remaded it for the duelists who dares to challenge me out on the streets."

He proceed to clean up his deck up and waited for a response.

His eyes lit up at the challenge, seeing this as the perfect thing to put his own mind at some rest. "Sounds great! Will help to shake off any personal rusting too." He swung his bag over his chair and quickly pulled out his deck and duel disk with a big smile on his face. After putting it on, he gave Dean a determined, yet still friendly look. "Ready when you are."

Dean exclaimed "Whoa,whoa. This isn't outside, you take out your disk inside? We will practically destroy the cafeteria. But we do it on the table, OK?

Dean proceed to set up his deck on the table, and readied himself.

It was a close battle but Dean lost because Robert's Machina Fortress eff that destroyed his Red Eyes Metal Darkness Dragon leaving his field open for his deskbots to attack his remaining life points. His reaction was "Good duel, you had me there with the effect. Had I drew my main deck ace, you would been done for"

With the duel won in his favor, he had a grin on his face and the his worries out of his mind, atleast for now. "Heh, can't deny that. It was a nice and close match, things could've really gone either way." He then put his mind on what he guy's reasoning was for the challenge in the first place. "So, I assume that was a good test for your deck then. You did say you were preparing it for a 'street duel,' right?"

Dean responded with a yes and also added on with "And I want to get down how the professor died but I have question linking the eye witness account with some info. I just going to tell you something about Johnson. He might knows something about the professor death but the question is: Was he with the professor before or at the time of death. Also I was with Lane before we went in our ways, must gotten the card during the time. So want to join me on this journey?"

"...There are more of you? Well, I guess it makes sense for aliens travel in groups. So, what is this information your seeking?" Luna was still confused what exactly Klive was. Everything xe said seemed to contradict with something else mentioned earlier. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."

Robert was greatly suprised by the sudden offer. Not only did this guy seem to have some great information, he even had what sounded like an amazing lead in mind. On top of all of that, he was putting out an offer to join him in the search! "Wait, really? T-that sounds great. I would love to help you in the searching. Just, let me make sure I'm not expected somewhere else." After which he began typing on his D-Pad, sending a message to Klive to tell him the basics of what was happening, turning his attention back to Dean once the message was sent. "That should clear my schedule up."

[Klive (The Message)]

'Klive, I found someone who seems to have a solid lead, and he gave me an offer to come along with him to follow it. Will be sure to keep you posted when, or if, I find anything important.'

"I don't know. If I did I wouldn't need the information, would I?" Klive responded. "Still, I think that Arial and Rene are smart enough to chase a genuine lead and not go on a wild goose chase." Then Klive felt a quick buzz from xyr D-pad, a message. Klive skimmed the short message whilst xe talked. "I also just said their names." Xe muttered. "Whatever, it's not like they're trying to sneak around, it should be fine..."
