Thanks for that dude. Crawli was easy, but then I went in a dark cave without Flash. Fun time.

It's not really to hard without flash i can say.

And if you want flash, you can get it by having 1000 coins at the casino.

Hey, you know what this thread needs more of? People stuck in Angie's hell hole.

So I was just wondering if it's true that you can get rid of her stupid field with an Eruption. I've got a Camerupt right now with Eruption and I sent it out first against her Abomasnow. I used Eruption. The text was as follows;

"The cold weakened the attack. The ice melted (field disappears, graphics change from icy terrain to cave terrain). The ice shattered (graphics go back from cave terrain to ice terrain)."

I one-shot the abomasnow which is cool and all but this doesn't seem to remove the field which is super sad. I took down her Walrein with a curse, then she sent out her Froslass and used Cold Truth. It said something along the lines of "The immense cold powered up the attack" indicating that the field was still here. Do I need to use a different move or is it not possible to remove the field?

Edit:

Welp, I just beat her with a bit of luck and a lot of potions (used up the hyper potions and max potions I had too :'( ) I'll post my team and strategy as it's quite different from the teams that have seen success on this thread so far against Angie.

My team (they were all level 53 entering the battle);

Guys I saw Videos and stuff about beating Angie's team, and one thing came in my mind, her levels in my game are a lot higher (like her weakest pokemon was Abomasnow and it was lv 60 I believe), was it normal? 'Cause i'm seeing videos with her pokes around 56 - 58.

The levels depend on the difficulty. You must be playing on a harder difficulty than the people in the video. Also bear in mind Jan made Intense Mode harder in 5-5, which I think includes higher levels.

It seems that I have trouble with all the gyms no one has trouble with.
Except For the Arceus Freak that is Angie

A lot of people I have seen play through have been beaten easily by her.

Current Team-

Impish Houndoom Lvl. 47

Ability- Flash Fire

Fire Fang

Feint Attack

Foul Play

Bite

(Trying to level grind for Flamethrower)

Hardy Feraligatr Lvl. 57 (Oops)

Crunch

Surf

Ice Fang

Slash

(Torrent)

Careful Ursaring Lvl. 47

Bulk Up

Feint Attack

Shadow Claw

Rock Smash

(Guts)

(I can never get a bulk up off. It can't handle the Cold Truth... Oh Boy)

Relaxed Scolipede Lvl. 52

Steamroller

Toxic

Venom Drench

Rock Climb

(Swarm)

(Straight out the wild moveset)

Quirky Tangrowth Lvl. 53

Holding- Quick Claw

Ancient Power

Knock Off

Cut

Giga Drain

(Regenerator)

Serious Mawile Lvl. 48

Iron head

Double team

Sucker Punch

Crunch

(Hyper Cutter)

As you can see, I haven't had the best luck with Natures. Most of them are either Natures that screw the pokemon over completely and/or are neutral.

Now I really want an answer for this one question WHERE IN GOD'S NAME IS THE TUTOR

PLEASE TELL ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

Also, I really need some items that can help my team out.

I have a Hitmonchan in my PC as well as a Tyrogue that is going to evolve into a Hitmonlee. I also have a Swoobat.

Halp me pls

Move Tutor is not available until you beat Angie and finish all help quests in that town. You're SOL there. I recommend replacing Ursaring with a Thick Fat Hariyama. Hariyama's naturally high HP and attack stat along with good moves such as knockoff and close combat will help you a lot in this gym.

Well isn't that fantastic. Oh and thanks for the tip with Hariyama. I'll capture one. You get them in Sheridan, right?

Yes, there are Makuhitas available in the Sheridan Village grass.

Day 230- Still no trace of a thick fat Makuhita. 10 boxes full of Guts Makuhita. I've lost valuable education. What is Pi? Apple Pi?

That's odd. First Makuhita I caught was Thick Fat. Didn't know that one was rarer than the other. I'm sure RNGeesus is just trolling you.

Wait, after Catching, I have no clue what moveset or item to put on it once I've trained it.

Dude all you actually need is the Hitmonlee ... i dont understand why everyone neglects the usefulness of reverse candies. Level hitmonlee to lv 57 via Breeder from the ship to learn CC, then use 2 reverse candies on hitmonlee so you dont go over the lv cap boom no move tutor needed, then proceed to CC angie's entire team bar Froslass, that's the only pokemon that you cant CC, so train up that Houndoom to 55 as well to combat the Froslass, then you should be good to go. Her Walrein is also pretty bulky so training up Hariyama will be good for you too.

Or you can burn/toxic stall it (and also stall out the hail assuming you've KO'D the Abomasnow already). This will also get her to use all the hyper potions she has.

Like the other have said, Have Hitmonlee and Hariyama (as back up if Hitmonlee faints) and both have close combat, you basically can sweep her whole team with them cept the froslass one, you can just bring a fire type or use ur houndoom on it, also if u got a chandelure, It can learn flame burst to remove the ice field too.

So I'm at Crawli's gym and I kind of have a dilemma around ep 4 my team has slowly been taken over by grass types. I started with a snivy, I later picked up a sawsbuck to beat pre nerf Narcissa and after Narcissa I trained my self a shiny trevenent (Does anyone know where I can get Sitrus Berries?). Does anyone know any goood pokemon for Crawli? I was originally going to pick up a fossil pokemon but there still not out yet so I guess I'll just have to find something else.

You could do with a stealthrocker to cripple his team greatly. I recommend Golem (you should have the link heart by now). Also a water type Pokemon would be a good idea considering the rain. For this I suggest Swampert (you can get a mudkip in Wispy Path).

Empoleon destroys him but you don't have that....hmm,try getting the Magneton from the Sidequest thing,it walls a good portion of his team, for the Volcarona, have a Flying type like Crobat to keep it from sweeping. In a recent run, those two managed to beat him on their own.

I don't know if Sitrus Berries were available, but I also recommend Ampharos for Crawli's Gym. It getting Power Gem and being in the rain helps its case for Thunder if it has it. I used this combo alongside Empoleon to completely dominate him, even in IM.

Yea grind for sure, but with this team you should be able to win easy (assuming you are playing on Normal or Easy), but you may want to do the Help quest in Sheridan Village that gives you a Spearow, it evolves at Lv 20 so having a Fearow will be much better than a Pidgeotto in this battle or keep both in drop off Litleo in the PC for the time being

This worked wonders for me and I recommend it to anybody stuck with Crawli. You can train a spewpa or for more dramatic effect catch Rorrim B's Vivillion and train it to level 50 for Hurricane and Quiver Dance. Jan added a rain effect for Crawli in order to weaken Fire types but in the rain you can hit all the Hurricanes you want. Also, Quicer dance raises your stats by 2 stages so if you can get Vivillion out you can just sweep his whole team with +2 Hurricanes.

I'll be giving my strategies for beating Crawli and Angie... both of which I UTTERLY DESTROYED on my first try! (On Reborn Difficulty that is)

and I didn't look up here or any videos... I went in there knowing only their Type.

They only killed the Pokemon I was willing to sacrifice from the start meaning 1 or 2 of them because of their specific roles I only needed them for:

All Levels were 1 below level cap - 49 for Crawli and 54 for Angie
