Mashew
I dont think I can choose I mean. Flygon is fast as hell and good to block Electric attacks with but Dragonite has the Physical prowess... Hmmm Ill go with Flygon considering he can Wall Electrics use EArthquake adn is a good U turner
Ninpen
Ah, a tough one. I'd like to give the ambivalent answer, but the truth is that Flygon really has only one set to its name, and while CS is a great one, Flygon just isn't quite as versatile as its counterpart. While Flygon can really only serve the revenge killer purpose, Dragonite can do that with MixNite or Choice Scarf/Band, and also has the ability to sweep with Dragon Dance. It also simply has a priority move, which helps cover its slowness. If, next gen, Flygon gets Dragon Dance, this answer might change. For now, I'm going with Dragonite. Maelstrom
Neither. Flygon looks like... well, a dragonfly and should be bug and dragon. As for dragonite, it looks like it's cry should be "derp, derp." Hell, the noise it makes towards the beggining of the first pokemon movie comes pretty close to that in the retarded sounding sounds department. So I vote that both of them lose. N8theGr8
Dragonite, definitely. Not even close. Think about it, without Salamence, Dragonite is the premier Dragon. Flygon lacks Dragon Dance and really is only seen as a scarfed revenge killer. Dragonite can hold any choice item, run a dragon dance set, a bulky set...its such an awesome versatile Pokemon. He's always been my favorite Dragon due to his just epic looks. Flygon looks like a bug with wings. Dragonite looks like a dinosaur with wings but still has that adorable-ness that makes him just epic. Dragonite also has an ability that is useful, with FLINCH HAXX SCARF JIRACHI everywhere, Dragonite can switch in and set up, thanks to Inner Focus. Flygon's ability would normally be really useful, but Dragonite is immune to Ground anyway and both still get hit with a 4x Ice weakness. Another difference is that if Dragonite is holding a Yache berry, it can actually take an ice attack! Flygon lacks strong enough defenses to be able to take a strong Ice Beam, even with a Yache. Overall, Dragonite is stronger, cooler, cuter, and overall more epic than Flygon in almost every aspect there is. Oh, and Dragonite makes an awesome messenger, too: [See Mewtwo Strikes Back if you haven't to see Dragonite's messenger skills] And Orca Mael, what Pokemon DO you like if you hate Flygon, Dragonite, AND Pikachu? O.o
Maelstrom
Random pokemon, but most are fairly common ones. Blastoise Gengar Machamp Torkoal Sharpedo Relicanth Feraligatr Swampert Lucario Aerodactyl Gallade Gardevoir Sceptile Charizard Gyarados Toxicroak Dragonair Garchomp Tyranitar
Bullet
Mash wins, yet he didn't right a long and well thought out answer. Why? Well, without Extremespeed, Dragonite is still slow enough to be revenge killed by Jolteon and such, and faces the danger of Ice Shard. Course, Flygon does too, but it doesn't want to stay in and attempt a sweep, just hit and run. And unless you pack Fire Blast, or you somehow get 3 or so dances with a Fire Punch, Skarm easily walls you and blows you away. Also, STAB EQ wrecks, while Dragonite's Flying doesn't really add anything offensively. Yes, I'm being biased when choosing my answer, but I'm going to go with what makes sense to me. And, as Doc said, if Flygon gets DD, Dragonite will be surpassed by far. Also, I'm tired of people thinking OMG Dragonite! when chosing a replacement for Mence, low speed and lack of Intimidate makes thinking on an entirely different spectrum. N8theGr8
Whoa. Mael's list...yeah, let's pick out the only ones I am NOT completely obsessed with. Torkoal Relicanth Toxicroak Dragonair ...and that's it. That list was pretty much orgasmic, though I've yet to use Blastoise in a team. All of the Kanto starters were fucking epic. :/
Mashew
Thanks Bullet~ umm this is confusing... ill go with
Bullet
Machamp trololol Unlike primeape, it has some decent bulk, and doesn't have to ruin it with Close Combat. While it laskcs good speed, STAB DynamicPunch with no guard is too good to pass up, and Bullet Punch combined with Payback gives you priority and a Ghost killing method. Also, a Guts set can work as well, although sacrificing No Guard DynamicPunch.
Ninpen
Yeah, I think everyone is going to go with Machamp on that one. HAVING SAID THAT, imma try the other argument. Primeape has a few things going for it as opposed to his OU counterpart; namely, its speed and deep movepool. Close Combat can wreck a team if you're not prepared, while Ice Punch and EQ kills many things that resist that. Banded and Scarfedape are phenomenal physical revenge killers, albeit not on the level of Flygon. If it's running Punishment, it kills Gengar even without a boost, and with Anger Point active shreds most of the metagame. With U-turn, it can make a great scout as well. So there's my Primeape argument (Machamp is better)
Maelstrom
Having trained both, I have to say I love 'em both, but Machamp is the winner by a fair margin. Torkoal is teh shit, N8. Great Def that let's its great stats in both atk and spc attack do their thing, especially on glass cannons. beware the surf though! 0.x Not sure why, but sucker punch on toxicroak is awesome. It says F U! to gengars and alakazams. Plus, it's damn fast on its own.... usually. been a while since i've been able to play. T-T Dragonair is elegant, whereas dragonite is all DERP DERP, dumpy fat dragon thing. As for Relicanth, it fared pretty well for me in the battle tower in sapphire. I had a terrible moveset for it, but it still did well somehow. Guess it's cuz it's a swimming rock.
Mashew
Well... not what I was expecting.... I wanna say Primape wins. I like Machamp and sue it but Primeape is a good way to F up things for brelooms! lol So Primeape has it sorry everyone else. and besides Doc needs a turn at being Prof. Oak~
Ninpen
Oh lord, I have to do this one. I'll keep personal preference out of this, if I can. Mashew
I have no comments on this one I train all Eeveelutions and they all are good in some special way. Jolteon is a revenge killer Vaporeon is a good speical sweeper Umbreon a good walll and Espeon like Vaporeon

Maelstrom
If I HAD to choose one, I'd say Umbreon. Wish they'd made it into an attacker instead of a wall. Walls and wall strategies annoy me. It's just not direct enough for me, even though I know it works. Otherwise... I would not shed a tear if evee and all eveelutions fell off the map of existence. N8theGr8
Umbreon. When I first started, I'd say Jolteon, but only now do I notice Umbreon's grace, beauty, and elegance. It shiny sprite is completely beautiful with the blue rings and it is incredible in battle. Cursing Umbreon is nearly impossible to stop if you let it set up on you. Umbreon shows something beyond just being flat out adorable, it shows an elegance that is only seen in Espeon besides itself. However, Espeon just doesn't have that mysterious beauty and usability in battle that makes Umbreon superior in my eyes. AND MAH AVATAR IS UMBREON GETTING A FACIAL TROLOLOLOLOL.
Bullet
Jolteon trololol Umbreon and Vaporeon are close, but are more wall-based, and do not have the raw power and speed of Jolteon. With Specs, it's an absolute beast, and Fake Tears can be a nice little sneaky surprise. Also, base 130 is great, able to outspeed adamant +1 Gyara and +1 Dnite. Ninpen
Will-lawl no. Orca-YOU HATE EEVEELUTIONS SO NO N8-Eh, I don't like your rationale, although I agree that Umbreon is the most beautiful of the eeveelutions. Bullet is Winrar. Bullet
MAXIMUM OVETROLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ninpen
Lol, much weaknesses... In actuality, though, I have to go with Gyarados by a mile here. Unlike Ttar, Gyarados is very difficult to top after a DD, and isn't totally killed by Scizor's BP. Sandstorm is more often a hindrance than a help to one's team, while Gyarados can come in and cripple an offensive threat. Plus, his 4x weakness isn't nearly as common as Ttar's.
Maelstrom
This trainer who tends to love water type pokemon says Gyarados. I don't really recall having any real problems taking out Tyrannitars, but the reverse is true for gyarados. My teams tend to be full of guys with moves that take care of rock types, and besides which... my machamp vs either of them... tyrannitar is dead meat sooner than gyarados.
