AuthorReborn
Okie doke so here I go: First off, while I do plan to play through the game three times (once for each starter, ideally using different mons each run through once we reach Episode 2), I have only completed my Lifoam run and I started my Roobber one. Firstly lemme say this: I didn't really use Ebounny or Sinisect, which you guys were indicating wouldbe good to take on Mary with. Instead, I used the lovely little Chromalyd (it wasn't quite a Monochromoth going into Mary, but boy did it earn that evolution). I gotta say: Stun Spore+Acupressure is insane. My Chromalyd may only have had Struggle Bug as an attacking move (and that's resisted by Ghosts) but damn, that thing tore through her team. Granted, it is just another bug amonst a route full of them, but Monochromoth is, imo, the best bug on that route so far I'm waiting to see how Elftik develops . I actually had to hold it back from taking down her ace so I could get some XP on my other mons. Um... other than that. I tend to walk back and forth on routes a ton just training up, so I ended up finding a decent number of Elftiks, so getting both the Pig and the Fairy wasn't too hard. I really like the Pig so far, as the traded XP bonus is certainly nice when it comes to keeping him on par with the others. Lifoam is neat so far, although it hasn't had much chance to shine since I'm mostly experimenting with the other mons at the moment. I did get it to evolve though, so I do like the direction it is taking. I feel like most of these mons a very cool and have nice movesets, but my main problem is the fact that I only have 6 party spots. The money amounts seemed fair I got a Nugget through Pickup! . So far, I have been documenting all the level-up moves, abilities, evolution levels, and even EV yields if I remember to check, to make it easier for myself later on. The only bit of data there I'm missing is a couple of EV yields and Monochromoth's evolution level since it went from 12-16 real fast. All in all, a very solid game so far. I feel Mary would have been more of a challenge if I didn't use a special attacker with the ability to boost all of its stats. (I personally feel the recommended Physical Dark types are too easily crippled by Wil o Wisp, so I didn't really want to use them much on her.) We'll see how my other runs go and I'll get back to you.

We'll see how my other runs go and I'll get back to you. Frankly I find Acupressure to be too luck-based for my likings, but that aside, I really enjoyed reading your opinions a lot. It is good to see that people might have approaches and ideas about our game that drastically differ from our own. A Pokemon that we feared would be overlooked already has a small but loyal following, and that is certainly a good thing. We are currently at work to make sure that Ep 2 will make your experience even deeper, by adding more diversity and customization options, so yeah, if you enjoy experimenting, you can look forward to it. Just do not divulge publicly the info you are gathering please. P.S.: as mentioned in many other occasions, the Elftik family consists of spiders (or at least, arachnoid creatures), so I think there is at least one move you can expect it to have

It's too random to really nerf and taking it away takes away Chromalyd's one early game crutch thing. I personally prefer Sinisect to the other two, it's really cool design wise but it sadly falls off like Beedrill later on. It's worth having around early game though. Tomas Elliot
Remember that each and every of our early game Pokemon can have a trick up its sleeves to help it stay relevant late game For example, anyone wanna try and guess some HAs of Ep 1 mons? Of course, even if you get some right we cannot and will not tell you, but I think it would be interesting to see your reasoning. Yes, this is indeed a challenge for Cepheus Logic. To help you guys a bit with your HA quest; -There are 14 different evolution lines to catch in CH1; 3 starters, 3 bugs, 3 rodents, 1 root monster, 1 bird, 1 pig, 1 ghost, and 1 wolf. That's all of them, i think. -There are 8 more evolution lines from Trainers only, not catchable in CH1; 5 from the Gym, 2 from Tim, and 1 somewhere else. -Only one of all of those evolution lines does NOT have a Hidden Ability. -There is one custom Hidden Ability among them, not found in the canon games. Good luck guessing that one.
Follow
Ok here's my guess for the starters. Lifoam probably has swift swim or hydration based on its pokedex entry. Robber is a difficult one, maybe defiant or intimidate? Two great fits for fighting types in general. My guess on eufur is fur coat or thick fat. AuthorReborn
Okay, so I just finished Episode 1 with Roober. Let me write down some bits. I was kinda expecting Roober to become a Fire/Dark type just to mix things up (since the only one of those we currently have is Houndoom and Roober would end up being a physical attacker rather than Special) and also because I expected the name to be a play on the word "Robber." It's whatever though. Also, wow, Roober evolves so quickly in comparison to Lifoam. That's three whole levels in difference there! Anyway, more on topic, I did use Sinisect and Magpy a little more this time through, but they still paled in comparison to the other members of my squad, namely the Pig and Chromalyd. I thought I would end up using Chromalyd less this run, but it doesn't feel like the Pig can really strike hard enough to sink a certain ship. And any hope of my using another mon to face down Mary was dashed when I realized that Chromalyd had HP Ghost. And so, despite the fact that I've been documenting learnsets, abilities, and evolution requirements to make it easier for me in the long run, I still do not know what level Chromalyd evolves into Monochromoth because it gains like 4-5 levels in the course of a battle. I gotta say, though, her team is really quite bulky. Even boosted, some mons took a hit or two to take down. I like all the bits I've seen so far, although I have run into a few little glitchy bits/typos, which I'll just stick in a spoiler here since I'm already writing this post. I can always throw them in the other thread if you'd like, though. http://prntscr.com/9jxv9f Here, the word "regenerate" is missing the "t." http://prntscr.com/9jxwnt Here, I become Jesus. (You can walk on the tiles one below the bridge, starting from the little island to the west of where my character is standing).
Tomas Elliot
The second one was supposed to be fixed *waves fist at Az*. And you know, Roobber is actually a portmanteau of "roo" (as in, kangaroo) and "jobber", wich is a wrestling term. Similarly, "Roorder" comes from "roo" and "carder". The final evo also has a wrestling term in its name.

Tomas Elliot
You are missing the two non-catchables that belong to Tim. Which is natural, as you started with Lifoam, so he has Mouroot in his battle on Route 1. Had you started with Roobber or Eufur, he would have used something else
Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted December 29, 2015 Global Mods Share Posted December 29, 2015 Today I saw a styrofoam box that had "LIFOAM" written on it and it made me think of Lifoam from Se7en.
Nova
#FOLD central here, with the a final announcementpost for this year. Three announcement points to round up the year in which we started this project! 1) Firstly, progress on the Beta! Because of exam weeks, festivities, and general slacking off, development has depleted at a slow but steady pace. Most of the planning for CH2 has been done, and development (spriting, mapping, coding) should be about halfway at least. As said before, the beta will most likely start around February. 2) We're announcing a very special feature that will be in CH2 today! I had to fight for this one to get in, because things that are time-consuming and not absolutely necessary can be hard to argue with Tomas especially . Anyways, here's a preview of a new feature for CH2: Character outfits! Ever wanted to challenge the League and become the Champion... As the evil team? Well, with these Team Rocket cosplays, you can! Prepare for trouble when Jason* and Zoey put on their true outfits and infiltrate Graterras! With the advent of CH2, eight character outfits will be available for the Main Characters: Four for Jason and four for Zoey. These will all be purchasable at the mall in Albion. Be warned; They can be quite expensive And that's not all! The outfit sets aren't just limited to the Pokemon series! The cosplays feature many different characters from many different universes! More outfits will be available in future episodes, and they might even be available through special events instead of just buying them. Stay tuned for more information! In the meantime, feel free to speculate which ones will be in CH2, and share your opinion on which ones you would like to see! *Does not include a bottlecap collection. 3) Last, but not least, we from Se7en wish you all a great end of the year, and a wonderful year of 2016! NickCrash
For those who didn't get Roober, Tim gets a specific and very cute Water/Poison pokemon to deal with both your STAB. I am not aware what the one tackling Eufur is, but my bet is on a fox I've seen in the battlers folder and am lazy to take a look right meow. Anyway, I was expecting much more enthusiasm about the cosplays: granted, they are going to be an entirely optional feature, but there are going to be a lot of those, for enhanced customization experience! Incidentally, don't you think that Zoey's mugshot looks ridiculously hot no matter what she wears?

I think Nick is referring to the dingo, which somehow is in the CH1 sprites despite not actually being in CH1. Or Azery might have put it in some kind of sidequest. And don't worry about the hype, Tomas, most Europeans are asleep at this point.
Developers Caz Posted December 30, 2015 Developers Share Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) Those character outfits are amazing. Perhaps you could even do like free holiday themed DLC outfits? Like next Christmas you could release a free christmas costume etc. Either way, the idea is awesome, especially more so than in like insurgence where it was just simple recoloured shirts and pants. Cepheus
I like the cosplays / costumes... that's what is missing in ORAS compared to X/Y! and yay Team Rocket! - although it is said in-game that there is no evil organization in Graterras (as of yet). I guess that word of the infamous Team Rocket got over from Kanto and Johto and inspired these "Halloween"-costumes? ("Treat or prepare for trouble!" - "and make it double!" ) and I like the BlazBlue costumes Jin Kisaragi for Jason and Noel Vermillion for Zoey if I'm not mistaken... (god I haven't played the BlazBlue series in ages...) Anyway, I was expecting much more enthusiasm about the cosplays: granted, they are going to be an entirely optional feature, but there are going to be a lot of those, for enhanced customization experience! Incidentally, don't you think that Zoey's mugshot looks ridiculously hot no matter what she wears? Well it's Nova's fault of posting it in the middle of the night! NickCrash
Ok I meant the dingo thing, the other red pokemon didn't occur to me initially. Btw, now that confusion is over, I enjoy the Team Rocket costumes, but am not familiar with the second pair. Also, since you find time to do cosmetic additions, how about giving our player a hairdo? Or optional different hairstyle?

Or optional different hairstyle? the second costume are references to two characters from the fighting game BlazBlue and I don't think we get different hairstyles - that would be too much work. because then you would need to create sooooo many extra sprites - containing every combination of Hair+costume... twice (every possible combination per character) for a 2D sprite game that is just way too much - it worked in X/Y because of the 3D models and those 3D essets could just be swapped and were not part of a whole character model
