Pokemon Se7en - Currently on hiatus

Recommended Posts

I think you should get to it, it's worth the effort. I can promise you will like her final form.

Yes, "her". Something we forgot to mention is that this species is 100% female. Later evos look the part more, I swear.

I forgot this was an all female line... mostly because we had a few that started that way, but we realized that it made a lot of breeding paths pretty much inaccessible so we had to change them around a bit. SO, I just don't remember which we have and which we haven't anymore lol.

Oh something I felt like asking (double post for not strictly important announcement, sorry ;-; ): has anyone caught any siny mons yet?

siny? I have a Sinisect, if that counts.

No, no shinies for me yet. What's the shiny chance, by the way? I guess it's not 1% like in Reborn, since I haven't found any...

I haven't changed the shiny chance at all actually >> I might do it for E2 though.

This may seem like a question fishing for plot info, but do the houses outside Albion have any meaning for the story or future sidequests? Right now they seem a bit out of place. Besides, is the map connection for the house on the far left fixed? I mean the one that teleports you to another house.

The connection you are talking about should be fixed, considering that, in his plauthrough, BIGJRA entered that building and nothing weird happened (I was watching his latest video right now). As for the "houses outside Albion", I don't even remember which ones you are talking about o.O

Houses outside of Albion? You mean the one next to the gate? Nah, not really. The house thing has been fixed as of 1.5

Just saying this now though in case none of you remember;no more updates on 1.5 will be made. The next release will be 2.0 of E2.

I was speaking about the one BIGJRA entered, the one just mentioning Goshee, and the one on the far right where the resident just says that life in the countryside is much better than the life in the big city (which is exactly next to his house... sigh), without offering items, pokemon,a trade or anything else that can back his claim of a better life in the "wild". To be honest, I was expecting something from him, even advice of some sort, and didn't get anything. The position of his house implies that something more important is about to take place. Even in canon games, there is a feature like this; the character gives you an otherwise unobtainable item (like a rod or an HM, or proposes a trade).

edit: I didn't say anything about releases between episodes. All suggestions/questions refer to Ep2 once it's out.

I thought we had made that clear multiple times? o.O

That's why I said just in case, if someone finds a new bug or something <<.

Huh....well, there's already a trade in the game available so if anything I might just remove the house.

Its position hints that it has some significance, which in pokemon games translates into a way of assisting the [player]. Otherwise it feels unrewarding or pointless. By removing the house you will just create a gap in the woods or have this filled in by the forest, which does not make things better. It just fills in to the map's empty spaces. What I suggest is either to have another citizen like a small girl that promises something for the future (aka following ep.) or have a sidequest (or even part of the main storyline) that passes through that house and opens a new area (even small) into the woods.

The first option goes the "reborn way" in which random citizens have clues for you, or some kind of reward for helping them in some way, and the second option solidifies his claim on a better lifestyle living in the woods, far from the strenuous city life, and pops up as a new challenge for the trainers.

I am just throwing ideas on the table, because the game shows potential. It's not bad to read all proposals and gain ideas. You guys might come up with something more exciting and present it to us when you are ready.

About Albion City Map

By the way, in regards to the city map, it's limits feel a bit unrealistic. To have buildings just to fill the 6square area that the [player] normally sees does not make the borders of the city interesting. On the contrary it makes them a bit tiring to look at. I'd suggest that some buildings are moved a bit to the side to look more realistic, or some are substituted by other types of buildings or inaccessible roads, or other features in general that give the player the feeling that they are indeed in the middle of a big city, even if most streets accessible are just the centre of it. Right now, the borders to the west and north seem unrefined. That's all.

Welcome to Eskatia City people.

Remember this guy? We showed him off a long time ago, let's see if you can actually remember his name ;)

Is that Duster? He's the only one with a hat after I checked the Leader posts...

Darn, this guy stalked all of the posts and found them.....

Oh well, yeah, meet Duster; The Mayor of Eskatia City and it's gym leader.

If any of you checked the Town Map;you'd see that Eskatia City is the last area before you enter the Graterrian Desert so there's an interesting fact. Expect more of these screenshots;probably at least one a week.

I'll actually avoid digging back into the depths of this topic. I'm kinda excited to find out what this old hardass, as Mary called him, is gonna be like. And I'm kinda excited to see what kind of out-of-the-box hardass he is. Considering Mary is a gym leader that spends most of her time on the tavern bar, my expectations about something interesting and atypical are elevated :P

Well, one thing we are particularly proud of is how every gym leader of our region does somwthing outside of their gym, not only in terms of "taking part in the plot", but also in terms of "having an occupation that fits in the overall theme of their respective cities". So yeah, I am sure you won't be disappointed on this regard :)

EDIT: and as far as the actual battling goes, this second gym is going to feature the Pokemon with the third highest base Atk in the region, after the previous one had featured the one with the single highest base HP... So yeah, if you thought it would get any easier, think again :P

play the gym before the Azery nation attacks again and nerfs it to death just like Mary :P

Ohhhh believe me, there shall be no nerfs for Duster. Only tears and pure salt.....fitting, considering his badge is the Salt badge :^)

Don't worry Tomas, I will download E2, find all the gamebreaking bugs first and play the gym

Who said the gym was where the episode ended? There are a few episodes in the game where the gym is not where the game ends. We went with the usual formula for the first episode but from here on out, it's anyone's guess!

Mainly because, as you can see in the map of the region (it's in the OP), there are vast empty areas, that is, areas without a town, meaning that great distances separate the gyms from one another. To deal with such an environment in a way that could allow us to avoid making gym-less episodes, we had to come up with ways to split such large areas between episodes, instead of forcing you people to cross them in one go. You'll see what I mean when you play Ep 2.

That's really interesting and a great thought! Will it work as a bigger and better version of post-episode content, like the ship's held and the police sidequests in E1, or will other story points serve as episode finish lines?
